PLAYGROUND FOR PSYCHOPATHS

Gapple and Oogle, Our Defenders

Names Encrypted for Their Security

I read that Apple and Google have begun encrypting the data of customers so that nobody, including Apple and Google, have plaintext access to it. This of course means “so that the government will not have access to it.” The FBI is terribly upset about this, the first serious resistance against onrushing Orwellianism. God bless Apple and Google. But will they be able to stand up to the feds?

Here is a curious situation indeed. The government has become our enemy, out of  control, and we have to depend on computer companies for any safety we may have.

NSA spies on us illegally and in detail, recording telephone conversations, reading email, recording our financial transactions, on and on. TSA makes air travel a nightmare, forcing us to hop about barefoot and confiscating toothpaste. The police kick in our doors at night on no-knock raids and shoot our dogs. In bus stations we are subject to search without probable cause. The feds track us through our cell phones. Laws make it a crime to photograph the police, an out-and-out totalitarian step: Cockroaches do not like light. The feds give police forces across the country weaponry normal to militaries. Whatever the intention, it is the hardware of control of dissent. Think Tian An Men Square in China.

And we have no recourse. If you resist, you go to jail, maybe not for long, not yet anyway, but jail is jail. Object to TSA and you miss your flight. They know it and use it. The courts do nothing about this. They too are feds.

Fools say, “If you are not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear.” This might be true, or partly true, or sometimes true, or occasionally plausible, if government were benevolent. It isn’t.

The feds—whatever the intention of individuals—are setting up the machinery of a totalitarianism beyond anything yet known on the earth. It falls rapidly into place. You can argue, if you are optimistic enough to make Pollyanna look like a Schopenhaurian gloom-monger, that they would never use such powers. They already do. The only question is how far they will push. What cannot be argued is that they have the powers

Which means that if they decide in a few years, or tomorrow, to crack down on “hate speech,” and then on speech that they say they think might suggest terroristic links, and then on anti-American speech as defined by them (does anyone remember HUAC?), they will have the tools.

The mere knowledge that one is watched, or may be being watched, is enough to subvert political freedom. Already journalists have to assume that their communications are intercepted, and sources, assuming the same thing, stop being sources.

We are in the cross-hairs and what happens in the next very few years will determine in what direction we go. And when we have to depend on commercial companies like Apple and Google to protect us from our government, things are bad.

The FBI wants a “back door” in the encryption used by our telephones, so that it can spy on us—for our own good, you see, for our own good. Uh-huh. Of course if the government has a back door, others can find it.

The crucial question: Do we have more to fear from largely imaginary terrorists, or from the FBI? Your chances of being killed by terrorists are essentially zero, even if you live in Washington or New York, and far less if you live in Memphis or Raleigh-Durham. (To express this we need the concept of negative zero, which I hearwith offer to the mathmatical community.) Your chances of living in an electronically locked-down police state are very high. This is far more dangerous to what the United States was than even a successful bombing of a mall.

What goes through the minds of those who are doing this to us? In my former guise as a police reporter I knew a few FBI types. They were pathologically normal, smelled of too much soap and wholesomeness, resembled armed accountants with the other-worldly assurance of scientologists. They were deeply convinced that they were the Angels Gabriel protecting us from whatever, including ourselves—and they were as intellectual as colonels, which is to say as intellectual as fire plugs. In particular, they did not think in terms of constitutional liberties. Since their intentions were good, they figured that nobody should interfere with them. And they were on a power trip, as we used to say.

Not good.

Those at the policy level are another thing.  Many are intelligent, some extremely so. They understand not just the laws, but law. Many have educations of the first quality. Harvard was not always a prep school for I-banking. They are familiar with history, understand the philosophy of constitutional government, and understand the consequences of our current direction. They know what they are doing. And keep doing it.

Why? Partly because they are screened to be as they are. Just as the military attracts highly aggressive men, who then want a war in which to use their training (would Tiger Woods practice his golf swing for a lifetime without wanting to be in a tournament?) politics attracts and favors the unprincipled and manipulative. It is a playground for psychopaths, for the charmingly conscienceless, for the utterly self-concerned. These now rule us.

This is obvious. Yet in the past there were sometimes men who understood that, to maintain a constitutional democracy, you have to pay the price of allowing freedom. They, and the courts, actually defended the right of people to say things that the government and its client groups did not like. They saw the danger of trying to control every aspect of everyone’s life. Today? Neither the courts, nor the Supreme Court, nor the President, nor the Congress, nor the military, nor the intelligence agencies shows any sign of wanting to rein in the abuses. It’s Apple and Google or nothing, and the government will threaten them with everything short of beheading. Maybe short of beheading.

“politics attracts and favors the unprincipled and manipulative. It is a playground for psychopaths”

Or those without morals or a conscience who prove George Washington’s statement that “Few have virtue to withstand the highest bidder”. And what is a person like this worth? – Nothing.

The manipulation, decreasing freedoms, and exploitation of citizens will continue as long as citizens allow this to continue. Of course there are those who believe regardless of citizen push-back (which would be surprising in light of enormous apathy), our country is in terminal decline. It may very well be regardless of stock market gains which only benefit a minority.

No one knows the actual timeline for our country’s ruin but like other empires, its excesses and corruption will inevitably sink us. It’s extremely frustrating that most citizens don’t seem (or want) to notice before its too late because too many have become too financially dependent (and therefore loyal) to government no matter how corrupt it gets.

Fred,

Good rant and spot on, but I think it is too late to change course.

If anyone can read your encrypted messages then the government can. They have a lot of ways to motivate Google and Apple to give up the key. The government can be very persuasive when they want to be. This is just a ploy to make people relax.

YOU SAY YOU WANT A REVOLUTION

By Coach Dave Daubenmire

NewsWithViews.com

Do you remember that old Beatles song? In fact, they had an entire album by that name.

You say you want a revolution. Well, you know we all want to change the world.
You tell me that it’s evolution. Well, you know we all want to change the world.
But when you talk about destruction, don’t you know that you can count me out.
Don’t you know it’s gonna be all right? View video and lyrics

They were wrong. It’s not gonna be “all right.”

I hear a lot of clamoring about a need for a Second American Revolution. It makes me chuckle. I just can’t believe how anesthetized most Americans are…especially the “Christians.” Christians should be the most alert…the most informed…the most prepared…the most cogent…the brightest bulbs in the candelabra.

But they are the dullest, the dumbest, the most comfortable, and the most apathetic. It is as if they’ve never heard the parable of the foolish virgins.

“Foolish Galatians, who have bewitched you?” Bewitched indeed.

The Beatles tried to warn us what was ahead. The revolution was in full swing when they first showed up on our shores in 1964. They sang of revolution and of Chairman Mao. They surfed in on the most tumultuous tsunami of sin in the history of America.

In one brief five year period we saw the killing of President Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, and Martin Luther King. We watched the infusion of the drug culture into the hearts of those who are now grandmas and grandpas. We witnessed the removal of the Bible from our schools. We watched as prayer in public schools was criminalized.

We gazed into the heavens as America placed a man on the moon. Charlie Manson gave America our first look at ritual slayings. Timothy Leary gave us “turn on, tune in, and drop out.” And Hal Lindsay wrote The Late, Great Planet Earth; the first-ever mainstream end-times prophecy book. It sold nearly 30 million copies.

I am not a theologian, and I do my best to avoid doctrinal discussions because it is not my area of expertise, but I would argue that nothing changed American-Christianity more than the publication of that book. Subtly, the focus of Christianity morphed from “occupy till I return”, to a pattern of escapism that currently paralyzes the church.

Make no mistake…Jesus is coming for sure, but reading the Bible by comparing it to the newspaper headlines has caused evil to run nearly unabated across the fruited plain.

The Second American revolution has already occurred. We just haven’t realized it yet. The Beatles were right. Chairman Mao’s spawn is now occupying the White House. What? In America? A proud socialist is in the highest office in the land? I shudder at what my father, a life-long democrat, would think. America has been overthrown.

But, you gotta give ’em credit. They knew what they were doing. They went after our kids. They stole the Christian heritage out of the hearts of our children and we couldn’t even see it.

The revolution is over. The change has already occurred. God is not dead, as the mantra of the 60’s proclaimed, but banished to the land of fantasy. Government has replaced Him. And it happened on our watch.

Funny, you know…60’s prophet Bob Dylan warned us “You Gotta Serve Somebody.” We still haven’t figured that one out. We traded the Benevolent Dictator of the Bible for the tyrannical force of government.

Jesus came to set men free. Like a cup of pottage we swapped the Velvet Hand of correction for the iron fist of government. Oh yes, the Second American Revolution has already occurred.

Take a brief walk down memory lane with me and ask yourself if your grandchildren are living in the same nation that you grew up in. If not, why is that so?

So now they are telling us that the election of 2014 will be the biggest election in the history of America. They tell us that it is our last chance to “reclaim this nation.” They tell us that if the Republicans don’t take over the Senate, America is doomed. They tell us that if we can only get rid of the “Muslim-in-Chief” in Washington, America will return to her senses.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news because I am an optimist at heart, but America has already lost her senses. She has traded the God of the Bible for the god of government.

My athletic career taught me that the game is never over until the clock hits zero. My faith teaches me to “work while the sun shines for a day cometh when no man can work.” My Lord asked me to “Occupy until He returns.” That is precisely what I plan to do.

But America is lost. She is gone forever. The evidence is everywhere you look if you are brave enough to face the truth. They have seized our schools, they have seized our universities, and they have seized our government because they have seized our churches.

But most importantly, they have seized our children…our heritage. Your grandchild’s friends no longer share their grandfather’s values. The Bible admonished us to “Train up a child in the way that he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.”

We trusted the training of our precious children to Caesar. Why should we be surprised when they come out believing like little Romans? If the Lord tarries, our children’s children will live in bondage in The Late, Great Planet America.

“Give me four years to train the children and the seed I’ve sown will never be uprooted.” —Lenin.

There is nothing we can do to change God’s timetable. If time is up, then time is up. But what if it isn’t the end of the world? What if Jesus is not ready to return? What if we could have made a difference? What if His followers had actually fought for the Truth? What if God never yielded America to the enemy but His followers did?

You say you want a revolution? You missed it my friends. It has already occurred.

“When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice; but when the wicked bear rule the people mourn.”

You gotta serve somebody…

I became acquainted with one FBI agent about 4 years ago. Ms Freud had this close friend of many years, and he was her husband.

So, she was dying to meet me. I kept putting it off. One day I relented, and we met for dinner at an Italian restaurant.

I disliked him from the get-go. Not sure if it was my preexisting prejudice, or the fact that he looked like he stepped out of a movie; buzz hair cut, shiny shoes, immaculately groomed, crisp creases … the only thing missing was the fedora.

And then he started talking ….. about terrorists. I shit you not, on my son’s life. It was all I could do to keep from puking up my lobster ravioli. By the time dinner ended, I hated the fucker.

It cost Ms. Freud the friendship. I never again took part in anything with them. It soon became apparent I was avoiding them like the plague. Eventually Ms Freud had to tell her friend that “Stucky just doesn’t like Dick”. (Not his name … but it should be.)

A doctor showed up at Atlanta’s international airport, a major transportation hub in a protective suit

How in the fuck is this possible?

I suppose TSA goons were busy feeling up small children, grabbing old men’s nuts, and making elderly women take off their medical diapers.

Next years version of Webster’s Dictionary will feature a TSA Agent next to the word “incompetent”.

Stucky, I’m with you on the Feds.

I ran into one recently and he was actually kind of pathetic. He had to make sure I knew he was carrying his gun where civilians like me are prohibited (I guess only the cool cats get to do that) and how he was “in the know” on all sorts of stuff.

If he’s the kind of guy running the scary scenarios, I guess I was over-concerned. He struck me as much more Keystone Kop than Terminator.

Oh, and BTW, I hate to tell him this but people like me are not impressed by you carrying a gun. It’s like someone with a lighter in his pocket trying to impress a chain-smoker with it. Big F’ing Deal.

As the Internet and cell phones became embedded into our lives, there’s not much one can do except unplug. I got my first “smartphone” a couple weeks ago and it’s definitely a mixed blessing.

I’m kicking around putting CyanogenMod operating system on it to replace the vanilla Android. CM offers some interesting encryption comms that at least would make the snoops work for the opportunity to listen to my otherwise banal conversations.

Since that one firm that offers a “Cryptophone 500” is just running a custom Android instal, there’s no reason CM can’t produce something similar, and CM just refused a buyout offer from Google.

dilligaf says: “I am not a theologian,..”

No shit.

Faith or Observance of the Law (Paul writes to the Galatian church)
1 You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. 2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort? 4 Have you suffered so much for nothing–if it really was for nothing? 5 Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard?

The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins (Jesus teaching the masses in parables)

25 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

Americans had a moment when Curious George introduced “enhanced” inspections at the airport. That was our chance to simply say no and stop flying. Because we kept flying, the Deep State knew we’d acquiesce to anything.
