No big deal. The state penitentiary has an entire wing just for former PA public officials. The corruption in PA is so embedded in the system, half of the state legislature could probably be convicted of a crime. She just pissed off the wrong dudes.
Kathleen Kane, the first female and the first Democrat elected to the position of attorney general of Pennsylvania, was convicted in August for using grand jury information to embarrass former state prosecutor Frank Fina, subsequently lying about her role to investigators. She will serve between 10 to 23 months in jail.
She resigned from office two days after her conviction.
“Kathleen Kane abused the power entrusted to her by the people of Pennsylvania to advance her own agenda of personal vindictiveness,” prosecutors wrote ahead of the sentencing, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
While she had asked to be sentenced to house arrest so that she could raise her two sons, District Attorney Kevin Steele argued in favor of jail time. Steele added that Kane “continues to argue that her legal troubles are the result of her simply doing her job as best she could,” citing an interview in which Kane said she had “no regrets.”
The former attorney general faces a maximum sentence of 24 years. Kane’s former security chief, Patrick Reese, was also charged in relation to the incident. He was sentenced in March to three to six months in jail, though he has remained free on bail.
Kane is not the first Pennsylvania attorney general in recent memory to face conviction. Ernie Preate pleaded guilty to mail fraud while in office in 1995 and served one year in federal prison.

Wonder whose toes it was she stepped on?
That was my thought as well. That, or she was just one or two rings below the “above the law” level. Its easy to see how she could have gotten confused, though. This was pretty bush league as far as elected democrats go. She probably just assumed she could get away with these paltry little offenses, and watching the news lately, it’s easy to see why.
Maybe the same toes Martha Stewart stepped on.
Pennsylvania is on a roll. A few years ago they jailed a judge for sending scores of kids to private juvenile detention in exchange for kickbacks.
Then they appointed a mentally ill man who thinks he’s a woman (but resembles an orc) to the position of Physician General.
Then they have a felon working as Attorney General.
But in two weeks the Keystone State will cement take the cake by awarding its crucial 20 electoral votes to Hillary Clinton.
I was born and lived in PA until 21 years ago. Why anyone stays there is beyond me. All the mob supported Governors come out of Philly and rake in the cash, like Ed Rendell. If you can get the Democratic bosses in Philly to get the blacks to vote for you, it’s a license to steal. No one ever goes to jail. So nice that Kane get house arrest because she has kids. Your kids can visit you in Graterford for doing far less.
Howard: I was born in PA. Attended Lehigh and Penn State. Left in 1972 – best thing I ever did.
And the Hildabeast runs free to trample on the American people.
That looks like the kind of chick that would enjoy jacking off a mountain lion in a phone booth with barbed wire. Is that even a woman? Is that resting bitch face?
In today’s world, it it self identifies as a woman it is a woman.
I’d hit it – if I could put a sock in her mouth.
