FOID

The socialist state of Illinois is experiencing record numbers of people getting FOID cards. Yes, in Illinois, you have to register every time you buy a gun, and you must have a FOID card to buy a gun. Turns out, states where there are more people on welfare than have jobs are dangerous places, especially Chicago. I wonder how many people bought guns in the USSA as opposed to how many signed up for Obamacare. Free prize to anyone who can come up with the results!

Actually the FOID is like a driver’s license, and once you have one you don’t register each separate purchase in Illinois. So this seems to indicate tons of new gun owners, not purchases by existing gun owners. Even better news!

Yep! Might have something to do with an evaporating middle-class (as Admin so meticulously and expertly documented in his stellar three-part series “Who Destroyed the Middle Class.” THAT is what people should be ASKING – and is recommended reading for every thinking American whom are unfortunately grossly outnumbered by the FSA at both the top and bottom of the govt-feeding trough):

Since you are on the subject of illinois state police, I want it to be known that they left a man to die of hypothermia on I-88 and are not doing an internal investigation. However they say they are doing a criminal investigation to see why he was out on the highway freezing to death. Actually it was because his car ran out of gas. Previously they did not respond to a pregnant woman on the same stretch of highway who dialed
911 so many times her cell phone went dead. She was rescued by a passerby after she spent 5 hours in below freezing weather on the side of the road.

People had called 911 because they saw the man on the side of the road experiencing the confusion and disorientation that is a symptom of late stage hypothermia.

The next morning the police went out and tried to frame the 911 callers for murder.

You should google “I-88 hypothermia death and you can find tons of news articles about it. Media tried to retrieve documents of the case but were repeatedly denied because ISP claimed they were doing this criminal investigation in order to find some unlucky sucker for the death.

I believe the information you posted above was about the Illinois state police, the same ones that neglected their duty to protect and serve because they thought their mission was to fleece the public.

@ Winter,
A couple years ago I hit a patch of ice and took the car into a ditch. I naively called the IL state police to report that the road was dangerous and they sent out a trooper.

He looked at where my car was and made the executive decision that I had not been speeding. The guy in the Subaru in the ditch on the other side got a ticket for driving too fast for conditions (yes, the cop was NOT there, saw nothing, but magically “knew.”)

Illinois sucks.

Speaking of guns and state governments, you guys REALLY have to surf to this blog and read up on Leland Yee.

I almost wet myself laughing so hard.

Jim might want to post a few lines and link to it. It’s well worth the trip.

As for IL,

Look at the bright side. They’re issuing Concealed Carry Licenses for the first time EVER.

Prior to this, unless you were a Daley or a Daley Friend, there was essentially no way whatsoever to legally carry a concealed (or open) gun in public.
