FREEDOM IS NEVER FREE

Think about this as you enjoy your freedom to do whatever you’re going to do tomorrow.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence ?

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured.

Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated, but they signed the Declaration of Independence
knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the
British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown , Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife’s bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots. It’s not much to ask for the price they paid.

Remember: freedom is never free!

It’s always dangerous when the government is wrong and you are right. I forget exactly how Da Judge said it but that’s close.

I like what Apu said in the Simpsons, “Go ahead. Celebrate your nation’s freedom by blowing up a small part of it.”

I doubt the average American knows there was a Revolution, let alone who we fought, but nice sentiments.
“Yeah, umm, we fought the Russians to protect our freedom from, uhh, the loss of, uhh, our freedom because the Russians hate our freedom and we had to stop them, uhh, and that was very much, uhh, you know, and really cool for liberty and forever. Amen.”

This is a 5-hour documentary about the Revolutionary War narrated by Charles Kuralt. I learned much from this and afterwards felt ashamed I didn’t know more about it. Save the URL and watch it at your leisure–you won’t be disappointed.

Not a bad start for my first post in tbp. Maybe I am on the right track afterall, that said I have followed tpb for a while now, I like it, keep up the good work and stick it to whoever deserves it whenever you can. 🙂

All that work, all those lives, all the building by the founding fathers. All the entrepreneurs, all the great men, mostly white males, that built this country, made it into something great. All destroyed by Obama and his evil minions. That country doesn’t exist anymore. It’s a socialist welfare state now, quickly being turned into a third world shithole, like the very places we let all the migrants and deadbeats in from. In a decade or two, whites will be fighting for their lives with blacks and Mexicans, fighting for whatever is left when the government in bankrupt and the free shit runs out. The plague of diversity and multi-culturalism will kill millions. Hope your prepared for what’s coming.
