YOU ARE ONE OF THE RICHEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

The mind boggling aspect of this chart is how poor the vast majority of people in the world are. If you have net worth of $10,000, you are richer than 4.8 billion people on the planet. If you have net worth of $100,000, you are richer than 6.4 billion people on the planet. If and when things go south, there are going to be a lot more have nots looking to skewer the haves. It should be interesting.

Financial inequality is steadily rising alongside global wealth, which reached a grand total of $263 trillion in 2014. According to Crédit Suisse, people with a net worth of over $1 million represent just 0.7 percent of the planet’s population, but they control 41 percent of its wealth.

69 percent of the world’s population have a net worth of under $10,000 – they account for a mere 3 percent of global wealth. Meanwhile, 23 percent fall into the $10,000-$100,000 bracket and they control 14 percent of worldwide wealth. In order to be counted among the wealthiest half of the world’s citizens, a person requires a net worth of $3,650.

I’m poor, don’t skewer me! Student loans and mortgage stuff means that I’m still negative a few tens of thousands of dollars.

Skewering will not work. It will make their lot in life worse. For the most part, anyway.

In the words of Dave Chappelle………..”I’m RICH Biatch!” I sure don’t feel rich even though I have more than the bottom 6.4 billion people on this planet. Hard to believe I acquired 90% of it since 2006.

Just my luck……….I’ll probably find myself swinging from a lampost when shit gets real! I’ll swing with some satisfaction in knowing that 90% of it is buried in multiple locations across several states where no human is likely to find it for quite some time.

Sacrilege, I’m sure, but I got tired of hearing people with jobs and no kids, asking for prayer to get a raise.

Then these past two weeks, I’m a soft touch, a kid, around 20, 25 sks if I will buy him something to eat, hesays he wants subway although I am going into a cheap Mexican restaurant, no matter,i oblige and get him a $25 gift card along with the 7.50 meal deal. when we come back out, he’s gone.

I had to stp t Sam’s for Rx, when I pull up, a woman and kid ask for money for gas, I say I have no money on me but I can get them gas, right away they both pumpm e for a fill up. I say sure, I will meet yu at the pumps, I drive over with a vague idea of maybe just drivig off. nstead, because ‘m a ap, I fill up their caillac, huh, and I’m driving a beater cvic. 54 dollars ow. when I left the sam’s I saw they were still begging from oher shppers. assholes.

I left the typos in so you can see, I usually have to backspace to correct which takes twice the time. and somepeope thin I have nothing beter to do than troll thm, shit.

Being “rich” planet wide means nothing, it is all relative to location.

I’m sure there are people in the Congo that are “rich” by their standards, even if they would still qualify for gubment grants here.

But, I_S, you are right.

If the rest of the world ever decides to exact revenge, we that aren’t rich by Western standards will be held to account as if we were.

How can someone be “rich” when their net worth is less than the upcoming mandated bill for health insurance?

@EC, wow, what a sucker. I took my kids and grandkid to a local corn maze a couple weeks back. There was a youngish (30ish) woman standing on the off ramp with a sign, “Cash for food, unemployed mother.”

As I rolled up, I thought about grabbing a couple bucks and giving it to her, then I noticed her tennis shoes. She was wearing a bright, shiny, clean, pair of shoes that retail for over $80. Looking down at my own feet, I noted my shoes were scuffed, four years (or more) old, and cost me about $20.

When beggars have nicer stuff than I do, I come to the conclusion that they don’t “need” my help.

What they “need” is to quit expecting someone else to provide for them.

If she was truly unemployed and poor, then she should sell her shoes and buy a cheaper pair. Or, maybe, just maybe, she should use her time to walk the 1/2 mile off the ramp to the dozen of fast food places that have “We’re Hiring!” signs in the windows.

Only in ‘murka can beggars be choosers.

Well, as it comes to my dispensable cash, so can I.

I’m done being the nice guy so that others can benefit and profit from their victimhood.

I help those that truly need help. I give to those that truly need it. The rest can kiss my ass and go back to their government and demand more.

Our poor have no idea what poor really is. But, as with most things in ‘murka now, that too will be fixed.

Good luck to us all. Hoards of millions that have never even figured out how to put food on the table without someone else’s labor are going to have a rude awakening.

Shitstorm is coming. Batten down the hatches and use your extra cash to prepare for. The bitches in the Caddy can find other guilt ridden to pay.

I have a plan, TE, next time, I will have coins in my pocket to hand out. Tough love. Whe I thought about it, the nerve of some people, the guy asked for a free meal that cost me more than if I had had a dollar bill to give him, same for Caddy hustlers.

Of course I didn’t tell the wubs, about my stupid act of kindness but she thinks I’m a dick for planning to hand out quarters. Quarters! I kept the nickels and dimes. Even when I plan on being a dick, I’m still a generous dick.

Rich is always relative. We are all richer than King Louis XV of France because we have plumbing, air conditioning, and don’t have to worry about prematurely losing our teeth (in general). If we have a cold we can run out and buy decongestant spray with instant relief, and if we are hungry, pizza gets delivered to us instantly. Trivial infections killed humans, including Kings, back then, whereas we take antibiotics nowadays casually. We spice our foods we such a variety of flavors gleaned from all over the world today that Kings of old couldn’t possibly imagine. With this in mind, the generation of humans alive today is vastly more “wealthy” than all humans who ever lived.

That being said, in some ways, we are poorer. In post- industrialized America, we are poorer in spirit than our forefathers. We are less rich in terms of freedom, than many who exist today or came before us. We are poorer in terms of survival skills in the world at large.
