Assholes are Assholes

This man is an asshole:

obama

I judge that he is an asshole because he is a liar, a hypocrite, a terrorist, a mass-murderer, and a power-mad sociopath who puts his personal wealth and power ahead of the well being of his fellow humans. He is not an asshole because his skin is black. I am 100% sure of that last sentence’s veracity because this man is not an asshole:

austin-kkk

I judge that he is not an asshole because the caption of this photo is as follows: “A black policeman protects a KKK member, as protesters were closing in on them at a rally in Austin, Texas, 1983.” If you need me to explain why that makes him not an asshole, then you do not have the mental capacity for this conversation and I suggest that you tune in Fox News immediately and have no further truck with my fancy “critical thinking.”

Here’s the thing about generalizations (yes, I am about to generalize about generalizations); as soon as you find a single counter-example for your generalization, it immediately becomes invalid. Period. To me, that assertion seems self-evident, but if you need the entire forcefully reasoned argument, read The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb.

I judge that our Admin (whose writing and whose generosity I admire, and who I consider a friend), and those of you around here that appear to believe that asshole-ness is somehow causally tied to a person’s race, ethnicity, or religion, are severely fucked up in the head about this issue.

The tendency to identify with a “team,” to believe your “team” is superior, and to disparage other perceived “teams” (whether ethnic, national, religious, or whatever) and demonize the individuals you place in those “teams” is something that I have never been able to understand. How do you tie your fucking shoes in the morning if you cannot see that this world is full of nuance and every individual is an individual who must be judged on their individual character?

Wake the fuck up.

Dividing the world into “teams” is the basis of every form of collectivism. It’s the fundamental premise of statists of all stripes and one of the prime causes of everything that is severely wrong with America today. It is the root ideological pathology that the sick sociopolitical left (fucktard liberals) has in common with the sick sociopolitical right (fucktard neocons). It is one of the things that Hilary Clinton has in common with Mitch McConnel, and apparently with a lot of you all around here.

One of America’s major problems is what Admin calls the “Free Shit Army” — those who believe and live their lives on the belief that it is somehow right or even “ok” to be supported by the work of others. The political root of this problem, inevitable in any representative democracy where the cultural center of gravity is below a certain threshold of human maturity (certainly the case in America today), is outside the scope of what I am writing about here. Let’s just take it as given.

By my definition, the people in the Free Shit Army are assholes. They are assholes because they believe that life, or other people, somehow owe(s) them something for their mere existence. Or even worse, they don’t believe anyone owes them anything, but they see a stupid welfare system that they can game and they are knowingly taking advantage of it. Some of those people are men. Some are women. Some are black. Some are white. Some are jews. Some are christians. Some are hispanic. Etc. If you have access to even the dimmest glow of logic and rationality, it is patently obvious that none of them are assholes because of the color of their skin, their gender, or their religious beliefs. All of them are assholes because they believe that the work of others should support them. That’s what the Free Shit Army has in common and it is a fucked up character trait that crosses gender, race, and religious belief.

On the other end of the class spectrum from the Free Shit Army you also see assholedom crossing all lines of ethnicity, gender, and religion.

Black assholes.

Obama arrogant

White assholes.

100913_mitch_mcconnell_ap_328

Women assholes.

nancy pelosi_0

Christian assholes.

Texas Governor Rick Perry (R)

Jewish (or as some of you like to say, “joooish”) assholes.

CEO-Lloyd-Blankfein

If you’d like to make some kind of statistical argument about asshole-ness being tied to race, gender, and religion, then I think you can take a quick tally of US Congressional representatives and determine that christian white men must all be assholes.

Wake. The fuck. Up.

Every asshole is an asshole because they individually are an asshole. Period. I may well be an asshole — I’ll leave that for others to judge. But I — one of two “jooos” who are directly responsible for the fact that The Burning Platform exists today — am not an asshole because Lloyd Blankfein is an asshole.

I despair for the future of the human world. Until more of us are able to man up and willing to do the hard work of discriminating and responding to the world in all its shades of grey rather than hiding in the mental laziness of “black and white” and snuggling in the immature emotional comfort of bovine herding, we’re well and truly fucked.

“Being a Jew just means that you’re a Christ hater . … You are the biggest , most hateful ass holes on this planet.” ———— bb

Were you looking in a mirror as you typed that??? Because it is YOU who is hateful …. not to mention one of the dumbest motherfuckers ever on TBP.

You judgmental COCKSUCKER!! I suppose it’s beyond your capability to understand that many Jews are … SECULAR. Look up the word, dumbass. Maybe TMWNM is just such a person … or, maybe he is very religious …. who knows? No one. Yet you make a judgmental assumption. And, as you might know, Jeebus said that as you judge others, so will you be judged. As such, if anyone is going to hell, it is certainly you.

I must echo Llpoh’s sentiments @10:31 The man who saved TBP has earned and deserves RESPECT, not to mention gratitude. I guess such a simple concept is above the pay-grade for many of you dickfuks.

It’s not that TMWNM is above criticism. Yes, sometimes, or even often, generalizations are incorrect. But, I can provide many examples where they are correct. But, it’s the WAY in which some of you disagree …. jumping all over his ass with curses, mocking his character, and denigrating his person. Shame on each and every one of you lowlife curfuks.

If I were him I would consider pulling the plug. But, he’s no doubt more gracious than that. Maybe you could learn from him!!

From my perspective the Dick Whisperer-n-chief and the costumed rent-a-thug protecting the dull cracker in the dunce cap are one and the same, just two of the same type of statist asshole performing the jobs their employers pay them to do, regardless the deed, the money is the motive.

And FWIW, the power of generalization is the ultimate survival tool. You can trust your gut instinct , which has evolved over a thousands of years to recognize a dangerous situation, before your brain has time to rationalize the situation.Ignore it at your own peril.

Say for example, if one is traveling the highway alone late and night and the old rust heap of a steed gives up the fume leaving you stranded at a fork in the road , one of which is a long route home via Jooville to your home at Crackertown and the other , the shorter route will take you though the section 8 housing project of Booburg , and then on into Crackertown .

Do you choose the Booburg to Crackertown route, because you do not sense danger from any stereotypical collective, but opt to judge everyone you may meet upon your chosen route as an individual or do you generalize and assume it’s unsafe to travel via the Booburg route and prefer to travel the extra few miles in order to avoid any possibility of danger?

If you not sure which fictional route your would choose, there exist routes such as this in every American city and town for a real time experience. You’re free to experiment which is more trustworthy , your gut feeling ( generalization) or your rational thought concerning judging the individual as opposed to the culture of the tribe.

If you endeavor to personally conduct this experiment in the societal evil of generalization against the inherent goodness of the human animal sans tribal influence, please report back to TBP if at all possible…if not…thanks in advance for your sacrifice for social science.

ALL People of ALL Races, Ethnicity, Gender et al are ASSHOLES. No particular group has a monopoly on Assholishness.

As long as you Sprinkle your Derision on EVERYBODY, you are not unfairly judging one group against another.

You run into problems when you choose one group to sprinkle derision on more than others, when there is no real good justification for this. Black People are incredibly stupid, no doubt, but so are WHITE PEOPLE! Good Grief, white people are the ones who bought up all the Suburban McMansions on DEBT! These folks are SMARTER than Black people who live in Section 8 Housing and have NO DEBT?

RE

You posted my “I should have been dead” article on Doomstead DIner. Two things …

1) Interesting to me that pretty much the ONLY comments made were about the very last picture I posted … about homo’s not being in the Boy Scouts. A nice little pile-on about what a bunch of racist homophobes inhabit TBP. Nice little collection of Politically Correct bleeding hearts! Especially considering that when taken in context … that the REST of the post was laced with humor … well, my “homophobia” was clearly done as tongue-in-cheek. I guess such nuances escaped your readership. Not to mention I wrote a thread about a homosexual wedding I attended in NYC with zero anti-gay commentary.

2) You made this comment; —- “TBP is Home Base for Racist and Homophobic commentary.”. With all due respect — and I do respect and appreciate your work — with such a belief, I wonder why you come here in the first place?

@ otto,

” nor or our opinions any less valid than yours because we don’t agree with you.”

This is not so strong, for example; an opinion that the Earth is flat would be considerably less valid than than the opinion that it is spherical.

Your example is just an example of Reductio ad absurdum – “…to demonstrate that a statement is false by showing that a false, untenable, or absurd result follows from its acceptance.”

What’s-his-no-name had an opinion, and said this: “The tendency to identify with a “team,” to believe your “team” is superior, and to disparage other perceived “teams” (whether ethnic, national, religious, or whatever) and demonize the individuals you place in those “teams” is something that I have never been able to understand.”

Which is, in fact, him putting everyone who agrees with him on his “team”. Anyone who disagrees with him is on the other “team” and is automatically, by his definition, an asshole who needs to “wake the fuck up”. Which makes him a hypocrite.

That this is being lost on the folks here at TBP is amazing, given the mental horsepower of some of the folks around here.

Additionally, “What’s-his-no-name” is a self-identified “joo”. Disregarding the very real fact that “joos” are THE MOST “team” oriented people in all of human history – they even have an entire country devoted to their team – the guy is one of two “joos” who “saved” TPB.

While I applaud the fact that he allows himself to be paid to host the TBP and we have somewhere to call home, that in itself should not lend any weight whatsoever to anything he says.

Lloph’s statement, that maybe we shouldn’t “abuse” the guy who hosts TBP on his server is amazing, given TBP’s history. It also assumes that a) our opinions are defined as “abuse” just because we don’t agree with, and genuflect to, the guy who hosts TBP and b) that we must genuflect to the guy who hosts TBP because he might get mad and pull the plug.

How is this any different than where TBP was being hosted before? Post some shit we don’t like or we don’t agree with, don’t kiss our ass and you are history.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m happy that “What’s-his-no-name” allowed Jim to buy space on his server. That’s awesome. But don’t use it as a club to beat us over the head with when it comes to speaking our hearts – if we don’t agree with something dude said, then we should be free to say so without the very real implied threat that TBP will be history if we don’t shut up…

“the man with no names point that we should elevate values above the lesser more base differentiations is spot on. Liberty is the core value that permeates TBP, and she is awfully trampled on these days out there.”

I’m not arguing that values should be elevated or not… if you don’t understand my position by now, I shall make another effort to be more clear.

Food for thought… along the same lines an Malcolm X thinking , who IMO was leagues above MLK in understanding the true nature of the lines that divide race and the solution to the problem.

http://www.amerika.org/politics/what-white-people-misunderstand-about-ferguson/

African-Americans receive endless pity from white people. They give them welfare, put them at the forefront of media, and write laws to give them preference in hiring, renting, government contracts and renting. And yet they cannot give African-Americans what they need, which is a sense of command of their own future, their own standards and their own communities.

Even the first (half) African president ends up failing on these fronts. He is in charge of the system, sure, but it is the white man’s system. He can give more gifts and hire more African-Americans, but they are forced to make rules for a society of multiple groups. This means that there is never an identity and rule for African-Americans alone.

Every group needs command of its own destiny, leadership of its own and an identity specific to it. It needs its own communities, rules and role models. This cannot happen in a mixed-ethnic society. The perceived injustices in Ferguson are a flash point, but not the underlying issue. The underlying issue is that diversity itself marginalizes African-Americans, and that this is injustice.

I beg the author’s pardon. I would typically pass over an article that says things like “wake the fuck up”, as if I am a childish dolt. But I read the entire thing. What a waste of time. I would think that of all places on the internet, TBPers do not need to told something like this. It’s condescending and puerile. Moreover, the author writes:

“Here’s the thing about generalizations (yes, I am about to generalize about generalizations); as soon as you find a single counter-example for your generalization, it immediately becomes invalid. Period.”

This is one of the more moronic statements I have read in a long time. The author has it exactly backwards. If I say, “Germans are good engineers” or “blacks are good at sports” or “I love apple trees”, no one thinks to himself, “yeah but I know of one German who can’t screw in a lightbulb, so what you say is nonsense.” Or, “Hey you love all apple trees?Really?” We don’t live in a logic class, whereby the use of qualifiers like “all” or “some” take on a specific meaning within a given set of rules. The statement, “Germans are good engineers” is perfectly true. So is “blacks are good at sports”. Generalizations like these, without the use of the word “all”, are accepted by people the world over. It’s only when something negative is generalized that someone’s panties get in a wad. And yet those generalizations aren’t less true either.

Aristotle thought that there can be no science of the individual, only the group. But we learn and understand the group through experience of the particular. And we approach the particular via understanding of the group. The generalization “male car drivers ages 18-24 are the most accident prone among all groups” is a true statement. That’s why they pay the highest premiums for insurance. Yet the actuaries at company X can in no way determine whether Johnny, aged 19, is a good driver or not. That’s because on some level the individual cannot be understood completely, nor his behavior predicted without error. My cousin is a math genius and a physicist by profession. So, I say “He is a smart man.” True? Yes. Then on the other hand he voted for Obama twice and still admires the man. So, I say, “He is a complete idiot”. True? Yes. To smooth out all such inconsistencies and contradictions in one person is not an easy business. This is why biographies are big sellers. To understand a man, a particular man, in his totality is likely not possible. Understanding “man” is relatively easy. We make any number of true statements, generalizations all, concerning “man”, good and bad, all the time without misunderstanding, abuse, or mistake.

Your article notwithstanding, I applaud you for what you do here at TBP.

To the Man With No Name, none of us need to be reminded that “assholes” come in all shapes and sizes and colors and races. We all know plenty of white assholes and black people (or others) who are fine, decent folks. That is fine as far as it goes. But let’s cut to the chase, shall we?

Perhaps it would be a wonderful world if we were all alike and we could all get along, as the saying goes. Unfortunately that is not the way the world is and it will never be that way, all wishful thinking to the contrary notwithstanding. Such mental meanderings are the very definition of muddled thinking.

This Blog represents – generally – the thinking of the people who built America and who keep it running. Yes, others have at some times and in some places made some contribution but the simple, bare fact is that America and the modern world are the product of the genius of white Europeans, including their descendants who settled America, after clearing out the Stone Age savages who were here before. Not pretty, but that is the way it was.

The Man With No Name talks about “teams” as if we are engaged in a football game. We are not. We are engaged in a deadly fight for survival with our children’s future at stake. I won’t even mention the struggle to save our country; that fight is probably lost.

You can spew blather about all of us being just the same but the brutal reality is that we are not the same, as Admin has repeatedly noted in his wonderful 30 Blocks of Squalor series or his hilarious accounts of his trips to the Jersey shore.

Tell me, Man With No Name, would you allow your daughter to walk the 30 Blocks of Squalor? No, of course not, because you know perfectly well that a white woman is hundreds of times (yes, hundreds of times) more likely to be raped by a black than a black women is to be raped by a white man (statistically there are virtually no white on black rapes in this country, for example).

It is fine for middle class whites, comfortable in their homes and security, to indulge in nonsense such as that spread by The Man With No Name. Non-whites can be docile, friendly and quite respectable as long as they do not hold the levers of power and they are in the minority. Just wait until they feel the power their numbers give them. You will notice an amazing change in their attitudes.

The Kumbaya view of the world held by many foolish whites is not shared by our colored “brothers”, believe me. Many non-whites are normal, decent people but there is a hard core that hates, fears and despises whites. Never forget it. And that hard core will always carry the day.

By spreading such fuzzy thinking The Man With No Name does great harm to our people and does no favors to the others. Truth, frankness and directly facing harsh realities is better for everyone.

A case in point is our Dear Leader. Yes, he is an asshole, but a significant component of his assholeness is directly related to the fact that he is a mulatto seething with resentment. Let’s not even get into the subject of his wife, a truly frightening example of a more typical black. A white man can forget he is white. A black never will, believe me. And you had better not forget that, my friend.

Further thoughts on “team”…

Throughout all of human history, humans have tribed-up and formed a “team”.

This was done for survival. Our “tribe/team” is way better than “Those guys over there” or “The Tribe/team that lives over the hill” because they fuck sheep and don’t brush their teeth and they stink and they’re stupid and….

It is human nature to tribe up and form a “team” to the exclusion of others.

I would even argue that any given group/tribe/team has the inalienable right to live as they see fit, to the exclusion of all others, to define their own destiny and have any opinion they want of anyone else. They do not have to justify any of this to anyone for any reason.

It is, in fact, those who rail against the “team” who are the multiculturalists, the enablers, the apologists and the Cultural Marxists. They despise, excoriate and disparage those who tribe up for whatever reason and exclude others. To gain any sort of legitimacy, we must first “know” the people that are being excluded – otherwise, we are “assholes” and our opinion does not count.

The “Great Flaw” in this thinking is that once we “know” those who are excluded, it will magically somehow make us feel different and then include them into our group/tribe/team. Because Pixie Dust, Unicorn Farts and glitter. When, in fact, the opposite is mostly true. Once Team A figures out what Team B is all about, it only reinforces their feelings and they double down on the exclusion. Sometimes it leads to war (see: Balkans ca. 1995, Middle East ca. The Day Before Yesterday, etc).

Different groups exclude others by their very nature. If inclusion and mixing it up were human nature, it would have occurred by now, naturally, and would not require battalions of lawyers, enforcers, do-gooders, police and the Federal Government to force it on folks and – more importantly – keep the peace. Because the minute you force two different groups to live together, they will begin to tear each other apart unless the heavy hand of Au-thor-i-tah is there to keep them from killing each other.

Tribing up, making a “team”, might make us assholes… might not. But it does not make us wrong.

This whole thing was a mistake. I shouldn’t have written that post, or if I just had to write it, I shouldn’t have asked Admin to publish it. And just to clarify a couple things for the rabid conspiracy crew around here, yes it is true that I could have published it myself. I did not, and I never would have. As far as I am concerned, the content of this site is 100% at the discretion of Admin. The above post and this comment will mark the first and last time I touch any content whatsoever on TBP.

It is also true that I could “pull the plug” on TBP and make it go dark. Take this for whatever it is worth to you — words from someone you don’t know — but that’s not the kind of asshole that I am. The first thing I did after figuring out how to shunt off the DDOS attack and getting TBP back on line was to set up automated nightly encrypted remote backups of the DB and the directory that holds all the data that makes TBP what it is. Admin has the key to downloading and decrypting those backups. He can move the site anywhere he wants, whenever he wants. The worst thing that would happen is a couple days downtime while he found a new host and got things set up. TBP is 100% NOT dependent on me, nor my “approval” of anything that goes on here.

We all have our roles to play in what Hardscrabble Farmer calls making the world a better place. Admin has stepped into his role as a rabble rouser, muckraker, and speaker of truths that TPTB don’t want spoken or heard. I agreed to host TBP because I think: 1. Admin writes powerfully and accessibly about things that need to be said, and 2. I want to support the courage and generosity of spirit that Admin demonstrates in taking on that role. I doubt that most people are aware of the amount of grit and sacrifice that it takes to do the kind of public service that Admin is doing every day. I support that.

Although I enjoy Admin trying to turn me into a Clint Eastwood folk hero, the truth is that my role is closer to a plumber than a gunslinger. I’m essentially keeping the pipes between TBP (and several other sites, some of which you probably read, many of which you probably don’t) and you all clear. Yes there are times when that is something like a battle, but mostly it is daily grind kind of work. I know how to do it, I saw Admin struggling with it, so I offered to do it for him. That’s pretty much the whole story of the man with no name and TBP.

That’s why I shouldn’t have written the post above. I’m not part of this community in that way and I shouldn’t have inserted myself into the conversation here in that way. That said, I am investing my energy into making and keeping this space available. Although Admin pays me for that work, it’s not a “job” to me; it’s a statement of my principles — part of my trying to make the world a better place. This might sound sappy in this day and age, but I don’t take money for work that I don’t believe benefits the world in some way.

Which leads me to the agenda that made me write what I wrote. A couple of Admin’s posts recently have felt to me like they crossed a racist line that I do not support and do not want to support. I really do try to only invest my energy into work, projects, and activities that I fully believe help make the world a better place. Idealistic, I know. Unrealistic, I know. If you don’t live your life that way, then fuck you; you can do better.

My agenda in writing this post was to call Admin out on the racism issue that I perceived, and then decide whether I can continue to feel good about hosting / supporting TBP based on his response. If I decide not, it would not mean censoring content, leaning on Admin in some way (that I can’t do anyway), or pulling the plug on TBP. For me it would simply mean letting Admin know that I no longer feel good about hosting the site and helping him find a new place for it to live. For you all, it would mean pretty much nothing at all. TBP would continue to function as it has, just with a new plumber (who might be better or worse or about the same at it as me).

What I should have done instead of inserting myself out of left field into this community here, is what Admin initiated anyway. A private conversation between he and I that hammered out what I was objecting to and where he stood on it. In the course of that conversation it became apparent that I had mis-read Admin and attributed beliefs to him that he does not hold. In particular I thought he was saying or implying that blacks as a race are inferior to whites as a race. He has told me unequivocally that he does not hold that belief, and that he judges people on their actions. There are still areas of disagreement between Admin and I around generalizations and human collectives, but I don’t give a shit about disagreements. He probably likes the taste of pickles, too. Fucking pickle-ists.

Talking about yourself is always fraught with distortion, so take this with a huge grain of salt, but I don’t think that I am a sloppy reader and I also don’t think that I am particularly sensitive about the race issue, or looking for and seeing racism everywhere. I also have no need that I am aware of to avoid questions of race, nor do I believe I am trying to see the world painted with some kind of race-free whitewash. So I offer you, Admin, this feedback: some of what you have written lately made me attribute beliefs to you that you don’t hold. I’m sure that some of that is on me and also sure that some of it is on you.

So to cap off my already overlong swansong here, let me respond both collectively (ha ha) and individually to the comments on my post.

First of all, for the record, my post was a response to a couple of Admin’s recent posts and some random comments that I have read here now and then. My “plumbing” work, family obligations, and other priorities in my life keep me from having time to closely follow what goes on here. I read most of Admin’s substantive posts, but rarely more than a random scattering of comments. In particular, I did not read any of the comments on Admin’s recent 30 blocks post (though that post itself is one of the posts that got me started on this). I still have not, so I really have no idea what you all are talking about with respect to that thread of comments. I do not believe that I have ever read any of @Billy’s comments on the site before the one above here, so if you read my post as a criticism of things he has written, either on the 30 blocks post or elsewhere, that is strictly speaking not accurate.

Now, to swing things back to the topic of “mis-reading,” WHOA! I am pretty much totally astounded at what many of you read into what I wrote. A lot of the comments here are so far away from seeming to me like a response to what I actually meant, that I can only conclude that many of you either didn’t actually read what I wrote, or totally misunderstood what I wrote. If you didn’t read it, but still found reason to comment on it, then fuck you. If you did read it and totally misunderstood it, then fuck me.

How anyone could read what I wrote and conclude that I somehow exclusively blame bankers and politicians for social breakdown is completely beyond me. Individual self-responsibility is my highest ideal in life and I think I kind of went on and on up there about how the Free Shit Army are assholes precisely because they live their lives without taking personal responsibility (and not because of their race, gender, etc).

@Kill Bill, @Wip
;^)

@Llpoh
As you already know, you’re an asshole. If you are content to live as a hen, then I am not talking to you. Carry on.

@Billy
I’ll take that on; I agree that I am something like the kind of asshole you’ve identified. I’m an elitist, judgmental asshole who thinks that some ways of living are better than others. Exactly how is condemning people who don’t share my fucking opinion different from, or worse than, condemning people who don’t share my fucking skin color?

@Zarathustra, @bb, @Stucky
Being a jew means to me that my mother (also my father) were jews. For me, it’s an ethnicity and a smattering of culture and not a philosophy nor a politics. My own spiritual life has nothing directly to do with judaism, christianity, or any other of the world’s major religions. I don’t support the actions of the Israeli government anymore than I support the actions of the US government; which is to say, not at all. But I don’t condemn israelies, jews, christians, muslims, pickle-eaters, or anyone else except one-by-one as individuals, depending on whether they pass my opinionated, elitist, judgments about being an asshole or not. I categorically reject the idea that anything Lloyd Blankfein (or pick your favorite jew asshole) does, reflects in any way on me or anyone else who was born jewish or practices judaism.

@Bruce
I completely disagree. It is practical to judge everyone by their character. I don’t understand the basis of the assertion that it is not. You mean that there wouldn’t be time to judge everyone in the world if you had to do it one by one? Yeah, but who needs to judge everyone in the world? I need to judge the individuals that I interact with. I don’t disagree with a lot of the other stuff you said, but I also strongly disagree with “The best you can do is keep your rifle ready … and die a free asshole.” I think you and I and everyone can do better than that. Pretty sure you even agree with me, otherwise what possible motivation could you have for writing that comment in the first place? Just masturbation? Bullshit.

@archie
You’re right. Generalizations can be useful. Generalizations about generalization can be stupid and misunderstood. I was generalizing too generally. Mea culpa. I read your paragraph about knowing a man as another way of approaching what I was trying to say; the world is full of nuance and every person deserves to be judged by their own complex ball of traits — both negative and positive.

And with that, I am going to slink or ooze or retreat back into my pipes and leave you all to have at it, unmolested from here on by my judgments, opinions, generalizations, moronic assertions, etc. Rest assured that I exert absolutely zero control or influence over what is posted on this site and that all I would ever do if I decided that I didn’t want to support it anymore is just tell Admin to find another place to host it.

I condemn blacks because they are an amoral, savage race of crappy failures. They also just happen to be black.

I have to admit that I didn’t sleep well last night. I woke up at 3:00 am and kept thinking about this post and the email exchange I had with The Man With No Name last night. I had already been pondering how much longer I want to do this. I’ve been growing weary of running this website. I had already been considering pulling the plug at the end of this year.

I knew the only reason TMWNN agreed to host my site was because he respected my viewpoint, writing and me as a person. If that respect didn’t exist, there would be no reason to continue our partnership. I wouldn’t be moving TBP to another server company. It would be the end.

When I got up this morning and doing my mind numbing 7:00 am trek to Wal-Mart and Giant I concluded I should contact him and set an end date for TBP. Six years of running a blog 24/7/365 has worn me down. The death of AWD has impacted me greatly. It is now a chore to try and write an article. My fire is going out.

But, after reading TMWNN’s comment and some of the other wise comments on this thread and many other threads on a daily basis, I’ll try and keep it going as long as I can.

The assholes haven’t won yet.

I can’t stand beets either… or asparagus..

Asparagus. The Tuber of Evil.

First time I was invited over to my then-girlfriend-now-wife’s parents’ place for dinner was a “Big Deal”.. the whole “Meet the Parents” thing. I was sort of sweating bullets. I had no idea what to expect, so I had to be on my Extra-Special-Best-Behavior….

The Herms have a habit of over-engineering everything.. apartments and houses are almost soundproof and the front doors are like pressure doors on a submarine…

My then-girlfriend-now-wife told me her mother was going to make “Spargel”, which was some big doin’s as it was sooo delicious, etc, etc…

I had no idea what “Spargel” was and my then-girlfriend said she didn’t know the English translation. I never bothered to look it up, either… All’s I knew was that it sounded like “Gargle”…

So, we’re standing in front of her Parent’s place and – thanks to the submarine negative pressure hatch of a front door – I can literally smell nothing. No hint as to what was on the other side. She opens the door and WHOOSH!!… the smell washes over me…

Asparagus!!!

Aw hell naw…

So, I play it cool, meet the family, etc… until it’s time for dinner. They really went out of their way – formal settings, best china, etc… they give me this humungous decorated plate (seriously… that plate probably cost more than my Jeep) full of steamed asparagus… not green, like back home. Pale, sickly white with tinges of putrid green here and there… and not tiny bits, either… these were Industrial Sized spears of Asparagus… They were taunting me…

I guess I looked like someone took a giant shit on my plate, because “Mom” picks up on it…

“You don’t like ze Spargel?”

“Ehhh.. not so much, no…”

“Vell, I get you zumzing else..” (obviously slightly miffed)

“No! No… I’ll try it. Maybe American spargel tastes different and this is better…”

(I take a bite… )

And the table erupts in laughter… I suppose the look on my face told the story. It was disgusting… they had me spit it out and they got me something else… 🙂

If this web site shuts down it will be a TERRIBLE thing for me. You don’t want me to be depressed the rest of my life, do ya??

Let me make some suggestions from the heart;

1) Write just one Big Beautiful Article every 4-5 weeks.

2) Take days off! Multiple days! Maybe even weeks at a time, between Big Beautiful Articles. In other words, let THE PEOPLE here be responsible for day-to-day posts. If no one posts anything on a particular day … well, tough shit. Too many of us here are Free Shitters … waiting for YOU to fuckin get up at 5AM to post articles. Time to say, “Fuck that fuckin’ shit!”

3) Golden Oxen’s suggestion makes sense … sharing duties. I don’t know what would be involved, but I’m willing to learn and help, if you need it. Just ask.

Glad to see things got sorted out with the plumber, just read this thread this morning and found it interesting how things twist and turn from comment to comment and how each individual interprets those comments and ideas. Ultimately that is what makes this site unique and a fun read. Admin I honest to God do not know how you find the time to do what you do to manage this site do your dozen or so posts a day in addition to the articles you write in addition to your full time job and family obligations. I try and catch up on the threads when I can and throw in a random pithy comment hear and there through out the week but that’s it. Your time management skills are impressive.

You and the plumber seem to make a good team and share the same common goal for the purpose of this forum you have created, which is a good thing. Perhaps more contributors will emerge out of the TBP woodpile over time and carry some of the load like Mr. Stucky currently does, time will tell.

Funny about what resonates here, and what doesn’t.

I honestly thought my “I should have died” ramblings …. and, really, that’s ALL it was, just ramblings that didn’t take much time at all …. would get MAYBE 15-20 comments. It’s almost at 200!! LOL

OTOH, I thought my “Deceiver: Spaghetti Tree” would get lots of comments because of the nature of the post …. specifically, how easily people can be snookered. Got far fewer comments than I thought. Again … lol.

admin- The assholes haven’t won yet.

There, that’s the old ant-beetism spirit ! I hate those purplish bastards too! ..inbred Irish bigotry I suppose.

Speaking of judging the individual..

“They’re standing on the corner and they can’t speak English. I can’t even talk the way these people talk: Why you ain’t, Where you is, What he drive, Where he stay, Where he work, Who you be… And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk. And then I heard the father talk.

Everybody knows it’s important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can’t be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth. In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living.

People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education, and now we’ve got these knuckleheads walking around. The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal. These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids. $500 sneakers for what? And they won’t spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit. Where were you when he was 2? Where were you when he was 12? Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn’t know that he had a pistol? And where is the father? Or who is his father?

People putting their clothes on backward: Isn’t that a sign of something gone wrong? People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn’t that a sign of something? Or are you waiting for Jesus to pull his pants up? Isn’t it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body?

What part of Africa did this come from? We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don’t know a thing about Africa. With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap, and all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person’s problem. We have got to take the neighborhood back. People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different ‘husbands’ — or men or whatever you call them now. We have millionaire football players who cannot read. We have million-dollar basketball players who can’t write two paragraphs. We as black folks have to do a better job. Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us. We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.

We cannot blame the white people any longer. ”

Bill Cosby

That’s right Bill , you frikkin’ demented animal , you have no one else to blame for the perpetual smear on what was once your good name…no one at all.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2014/11/13/bill-cosby-raped-me-why-did-it-take-30-years-for-people-to-believe-my-story/

Bill Cosby raped me. Why did it take 30 years for people to believe my story?
Only when a male comedian called Cosby a rapist did the accusation take hold.

In 2004, when Andrea Constand filed a lawsuit against Bill Cosby for sexual assault, her lawyers asked me to testify. Cosby had drugged and raped me, too, I told them. The lawyers said I could testify anonymously as a Jane Doe, but I ardently rejected that idea. My name is not Jane Doe. My name is Barbara Bowman, and I wanted to tell my story in court. In the end, I didn’t have the opportunity to do that, because Cosby settled the suit for an undisclosed amount of money.

Over the years, I’ve struggled to get people to take my story seriously. So last month, when reporter Lycia Naff contacted me for an interview for the Daily Mail, I gave her a detailed account. I told her how Cosby won my trust as a 17-year-old aspiring actress in 1985, brainwashed me into viewing him as a father figure, and then assaulted me multiple times. In one case, I blacked out after having dinner and one glass of wine at his New York City brownstone, where he had offered to mentor me and discuss the entertainment industry. When I came to, I was in my panties and a man’s t-shirt, and Cosby was looming over me. I’m certain now that he drugged and raped me. But as a teenager, I tried to convince myself I had imagined it. I even tried to rationalize it: Bill Cosby was going to make me a star and this was part of the deal. The final incident was in Atlantic City, where we had traveled for an industry event. I was staying in a separate bedroom of Cosby’s hotel suite, but he pinned me down in his own bed while I screamed for help. I’ll never forget the clinking of his belt buckle as he struggled to pull his pants off. I furiously tried to wrestle from his grasp until he eventually gave up, angrily called me “a baby” and sent me home to Denver.

admin said,
“I know we all have full lives separate from TBP. I don’t know that TBP is going to change anything or anyone, but it is a gathering place for people who cherish liberty, freedom, free speech and truth.”

It does change people. Trust me. I’m sure they exist but I don’t know of any other site on the web that allows such latitude. TBP exemplifies the values you hold dear even if the comments don’t. That this place stays on the rails amazes me and says a lot about the kind of people who hang out here. Even more amazing is the proportion of INTJ types that TBP attracts.

After reading TMWNN’s comment it is clear I was right to assume I was missing something. I actually hope he stays. He seems like a man with principals and integrity. Seems like one of us. We already have a permanent village idiot so he sure wouldn’t fall into that role.

Admin, don’t sweat AWD’s passing. It sucks that life and all it’s possibilities have ended for him but dying is a part of that. We are all better for having had him in our lives and he is part of us now. You and the meager help you get keep the site almost overly relevant. I rarely have time to read all the posts here (even without AWD’s prodigious outrage filled posts) and like you, I tend to read what interests me. Take weekends off. Work on your new articles if and when you feel like it. Take time for yourself and your family. Focus on any of your preps or skills that may be lacking. You’ve already given us more than can ever be reciprocated.

The Man puts up a classic post. Outstanding.

Re me being happy to be a hen:

I no longer fight who I am. I am flawed in many, many ways. But I am a much happier man since, some long time ago, I quit fighting my nature. I try to improve myself every day. I try to be more honest, more ethical, and believe it or not, more compassionate. I do take individuals as they come, and I come into contact with many folks that are not like me every day. I treat them all the same, best I can tell – as individuals.

But that is not to say I do not judge groups as a whole based on how they as a whole behave. The US group of blacks behaves appallingly for instance, and actions need to be taken based on the behavior of the group so as to eradicate the group behavior that is causing so much destruction.

I do not fight who I am – I have “human nature”. It is simple as that. I do not see that as a bad thing to be eradicated. Humans can strive for great things, but to condemn human nature as bad or evil is foolish. It is what it is, and to fight it over-much leads to unhappiness, in my opinion.

I really appreciate what The Man has done. And the Admin, most especially.

Stuck, I’m not obsessed with Billy, it’s his writing that gets me going. TBP would be a bit boring if I didn’t have his comments to respond to. I don’t have an idea what he looks like or sounds like or anything, just his words. AWD wrote things that provoked me but because of his kind nature, at least his gentlemanly courtesy, I could not go full retard on him. Billy may be just one insignificant worm of a person of 330 million people out there but his words impact me. And words matter because from them we form our ideas and attitudes and behavior.
Regarding flash’s comment on blackspeak, I find expressions here that do not happen in real life. I heard someone say ‘hella’ once and recalled it is a N. Cali term that is not common here in SoCal. There are ideas on this site that are not common in the outer circle.
There are stories of all kinds here, I feel enriched by them, there are attitudes and lessons that have made me a better person, at least in my opinion. Commenting on a regular basis has greatly improved my writing, form of expression and focus. Like you, I fear the end of TBP as much as TEOTWAWKI, to TBPers, it is the same thing.

Far as racist and homophobic overtones go, if you don’t acknowledge that exists on TBP, you’re being dishonest. Howard brought this up on numerous ocassions, and he had a really thick black skin too. Our old friend Smokey was the positive King of Homophobic commentary. Any number of people in the commentary here now have picked up these torches and continue to run with them.
