Here in Minneapolis they changed most all the KFC’s to Popeye’s. Try to buy something in a Popeye’s sometime. There’s one by a client of mine – they run out of chicken at noon.

Elsewhere on the interwebz, awhile back I was reading and there was a “thing” going around.
Seems certain people – not me – were trolling a certain demographic that rhymes with Knee Grows. These guys – again, not me – would design and print up bogus KFC fliers and coupons promising free CHIKKINZ! for any customer who purchases an accompanying drink, between the hours of X and X on such-and-such a day… usually a weekend.
They look absolutely legitimate. They were then distributed around various hair-did’s places, nail salons, check cashing places, dollar stores, etc…
Then sit back and watch the hilarity unfold…

Try it sometime if you’re bored… it’s good fun.

Very funny.
I know folks who raise chickens for KFC. From egg to fryer in around 6 weeks. Not especially cruel conditions, as they are raised in huge heated barns, which are kept remarkably clean.
However, if you ever have seen one of those chickens you might think twice before eating it. They do not look like chickens, at least as I have always understood them to look.They have almost no feathers, so they are easy to process.

My sister in law feeds her dog Costco chicken. I don’t like the idea but they have money to do that. The dog has mange now. Gee, could it be he is malnourished?
The Colonel was great chicken back in the 70’s. My old man swore by Church’s, he said the chicken was fresh and not shipped in frozen like KFC. It has a thin crust that leaves one wishing there was more chicken, primarily because it doesn’t have much ‘bite’ to it. Popeye’s, on the other hand, is a bit too crunchy.
I had been out of beanertown for several years so I headed to Church’s. I was surprised to find my old HS buddy still working there. He looked awfully embarrassed.
I was driving from beanertown back to Cali and somewhere in the middle of the 14 hour trip, I decided what I really wanted was a bucket of KFC. When I got into town, I called the church lady and asked what she wanted because I was not going to share my chicken. She wanted War Wonton Soup. I headed home. ate around ten pieces of chicken and had a horrible stomach ache in no time.

Wow; have you seen the prices for just chicken at these places?
Typically what they’re doing is filling you up with cheap carbs, a few pieces of chicken or even less in a “bowl” and still charge a lot. The cheapest possible meat should not cost so much–clearly it’s going up in rent for “location, location, location” (yeah even in a “food desert neighborhood”).
Seems to me like a tiny fried chicken place in a negro neighborhood with just a few sides–but really good sides–would do quite well. Takee outee only to minimize costs. Maybe even finance it entirely via crowdfunding.

I thought Cali WAS beanertown. No? What’s beanertown, then? Not Boston, since you couldn’t drive from Boston to CA in 14 hours. Of course, the way it’s going, the whole country is beanertown. Except for maybe Montpelier.

LA is a multicultural world city, Hispanics may be a majority, I’m not certain, but they are not powerful enough politically to call LA ‘Beanertown’ the way Jackson called NY ‘Hymietown’.
With apologies to BostonBob, El Paso is beanertown central, it is the pemier legal immigration portal of most of the USA. (Nogales is the illegal immigration portal.) It is also home to UTEP aka Harvard on the Border.

EC, the cure for mange is a product called revolution, easily available online with no prescription. Dog or cat, one dose on the back of the neck cures mange fleas, ticks, worms, earmites, everything. 15-20 bucks.
