If it’s any consolation, the fridge on the left is packed with a whole bunch of GMOs/Frankenfood. You’d likely be safer with the contents on the right. And the fridge on the right has a decent coping strategy by having a couple of bottles of wine in it.
Bea Lever – SNAP cards have a set limit on them and the money goes into the account once each month. The folks in the program might be living high on the hog at the beginning of the month when the account is full, but by the end of the month, those same folks aren’t feeding their children with anything other than what they can get for free from the school breakfast/lunch program. Steaks on the first Friday of the month don’t satisfy an empty belly on the last several Fridays of the month.

Really Irish…………….I know of three black households where multiple EBT cards come in each month.
Typical breakdown- Mother 70 yrs old never married (sometimes applies under more than one name)
Son and wife (50+ years old) and their offspring
Daughter (50 years old never married) her two offspring
Daughter #2 ( late 40’s never married) her two offspring
House owned by the mother’s brother- section 8 approved (another relative on the teat)
Mother above also maintains second address of the 90 year old white woman she works for to collect another check. Works for cash under the table, never pays taxes or files tax return.
Getting the picture yet Irish? These people are constantly gone on gambling junkets and trips as they have plenty of spendable cash. There are six cars in the driveway and their house is twice the size of mine and has two full kitchens and a mother-in-law’s suite.

Irish is right… welfare recipients routinely misallocate their money. I see them loading up at Aldi’s on overpriced processed food at the beginning of the month, and they usually have 5 little ones in tow…. while I’m buying milk, cheese, cheap fish fillets, and things like peanut butter for my emergency food supply. For “luxury” , I stockpile cans of boiled oysters and pink salmon, which I can use in many different dishes.
My entire grocery expense for the month, including non-food items like cleaning and paper products, is less than what they get in EBT benefits, and I’m nowhere near starving.

The father never seems to find work or hold down a job if he gets one.
Mother – same problem
EBT food runs out by the third week of the month and the three children go hungry til the card has a new deposit of funds.
White people don’t have the talent for playing the system that blacks seem to have. Whites don’t like the idea of doubling up multi generations in the household to score the big money.
The white people I used as the example are able bodied, healthy adults that can only be described as sorry, lazy and worthless.

I understand your frustration. You have to at least admire the cleverness in their approach to gaming the system, though. They’re acting dishonestly and are in fact stealing. But if the mindset is to “get mine,” then they’re winning the “game” – at least from their point of view.
The crummy part is that you and I and other tax-paying citizens have to fund this “game” in the first place. It would be better to eliminate the game entirely. But to do so would result in chaos. Too many people are too dependent on the government for survival to just cut them off. So I’m guessing it stays in place until chaos arrives in another form – economic depression, environmental disaster, war on our shores, etc. I sincerely hope not, but I think that’s what it will take to fix things – a full rebuild-from-scratch-type of effort.
