bb, Stephen king wrote a book called It, which featured a clown as the antagonist. He is a scary figure actually. The book is harrowing. Hope that clears it up for you.
He’s a college professor who said that when a horror movie fails to scare, it goes for the gross out. Sort of like when a commentator fails to make his point, he goes for the personal attack, not that it’s a bad thing.

He wasn’t too happy with the Shining movie but it is still a scary movie that doesn’t drop the terror for cheap gross out like the more recent SAW movies that are nothing but slasher bullshit.
Nightmare on Elm Street was supposedly based on a kid who was afraid to go to sleep, though I wonder how anybody can survive without sleep.

Stephen King is a brilliant writer, the fact that he writes mostly horror is irrelevant…
It is a very good novel but very very long, as long as the Stand…
The movie is fairly good, but Tim Curry’s Pennywise the Dancing Clown is downright terrifying…
I don’t get it .It’s not scary nor funny.
