Lovely, lovely music. The Silent Monks “singing” Halleluiah is so wonderful I played it 5 times in a row. That song is, imho, Christendom’s greatest musical accomplishment. It always and always send chills up my spine.
There are times when I wish I could believe the Christmas message …. like, at Christmas. But, I can’t. But, I sure can enjoy is nonetheless.
My Tante Linde sent me two Advent Calenders this year, … a first. She told me how devastated my uncle was when my parents took me to America, and she thanked me for being a good nephew. It brought tears to my eyes. Christmas is a mixed bag of emotions for me, remembering the good times of days gone by, while wondering if this Christmas will be my parent’s last.
Again, your effort to bring us shit-flingers good holiday music is much appreciated.

Stucky , just think of all the times in the coming year you’ll get to call me stupid , dumb and the village idiot. That should cheer you up.
It’s hard not to let this world steal your joy but it can be done .I guess we all have to figure out the best way to maintain some happiness in this life.I have learned a lot from YOU Stucky. I always read your post and comments.

If you would just stop supporting every copfuk shooting as justifiable you would probably see a 90% reduction in me calling you “village idiot”.
I do think you say some dumb shit from time to time. But, not stupid. I don’t think you’re stupid at all, not one bit.
I don’t see me calling you too many names next year. You’ve grown on me in a good way, believe it or not. Like the pimple on my ass that just won’t go away. After years of cursing it, I finally just grew to accept it. If it ever goes away, I’ll miss it.

One of my favorites is “The Rebel Jesus” by Jackson Browne, an anthem by a self-admitted “heathen and pagan.” Even a die-hard atheist would like this song.

For a few years I had the privilege of singing “The Messiah” at Christmastime. I consider that one of my peak life experiences. After each performance, it took about two days for my brain to calm down after all the endorphins swirled around and around as a result of singing that music. It literally made me high. Powerful stuff.
