And so far only Reagan got away with it, and that was to the credit of very good surgeons and medical care.

Judging by Robert Graves’ work (most of my knowledge of Roman emperors), this is unfair. Reagan did not set out to be Emperor, and believed in limited government. I can’t remember any reforms Bush I put into action, unlike Augustus. Why did you skip the peanut farmer? Clinton fits no known Roman emperor, most of them actually achieved SOMETHING in their reigns. Bush II was not known to be personally depraved, unlike Caligula. Obozo is no Claudius, Claudius was actually competent and conquered Britain, then a collection of savage tribes; Obozo has conquered nothing that we know of. Neither Trump nor Hillary can be Nero, neither are musically capable. False analogy, sorry; although all but the first were near-total failures.
