When NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden first exposed the world to just how easily the government could compromise their technology and spy on them, many immediately sought ways to secure their data and protect their gadgets.
But, as Wired.com reports, Snowden is here to help. “‘Going Black’ is a pretty big ask,” he tells VICE’s Shane Smith, but not impossible, as Snowden shows how to “make sure your phone works for you… instead of working for someone else.”

Wonder how they would hack my little $10 prepaid minutes flip phone to turn that camera and stuff on since it doesn’t have one that I know about?
Doesn’t have internet access, all that data storage and cloud stuff and everything else most people find essential for their telephone either. I think it can do text messages but I have no idea how to do it, wonder if they can access my nonexistent text messages as well?
I guess I’m just more vulnerable than most, they’re probably turning it on now even if the battery is dead and has been for a few days now since I keep forgetting about it to charge it.
If you have the means go watch the episode that this video was picked from. Pretty damn good. The movie “Enemy of the State” was spot on and warned us then about where we are now.
IMHO, the Vice series and Edward Snowden are….
ta-da…products of the CIA. Yes the movie was
prescient.
