My home city of Atlanta, coming in at 151%. I was pretty young in 96, but I get a reminder of how wasteful and stupid this shit is every time I visit my parent’s house. They live out in the suburbs, and every time you drive from their house into the city, you pass by the tennis stadium built just for Olympic tennis. Its this big concrete structure, not near anything else thats still in operation, and its just been sitting there, slowly rotting away, for the past 20 years. I don’t know when the last time anyone played tennis in it, but it doesn’t appear to have had any sort of maintenance or human use of any kind in a decade or more. Atlanta at least used most of the things it built afterwards, but it was still a collosal waste of money.
