Surprise: Gun ownership rises to 44% of all homes

Guest Post by Paul Bedard

After a steady decline in gun ownership in recent years, more homes are reporting having a weapon inside, according to a new survey.

Pew Research Center, in a poll on guns released Friday, showed that 44 percent of the country has a gun in the house. Some 51 percent don’t.

The survey firm didn’t break those numbers out for special attention in reviewing American attitudes about background checks, an assault weapon ban or other gun issues, but it shows a jump in ownership from the mid-30 percent found in other recent polls.

CBS, for example, had gun ownership to a low of 36 percent. Gun sales have been on a tear over the past year, giving support for growing household ownership.

Interesting, those with guns and those without don’t have major differences on some of the issues Pew surveyed, such as allowing gun ownership by those on no-fly lists.

Funny but 5 years ago it was reported at 47% so I guess some people have smartened up and are keeping their mouth shut. It all doesn’t matter though because the Soros administration has about 10,000 rounds for every man, woman and child in the US and aren’t afraid to use them. You government hates self-reliant, self-sufficient people and will gladly turn you into food for their food-eaters.

Harry,
I have to agree with you many I know never ever tell people what they own, especially around here in the greater Boston area. People would be quite surprised how well armed much of the suburbs are around here, and with some very serious and expensive stuff.
Bob.

Last night on Cox cable they were still showing the “Under the Gun” propaganda anti-gun ‘documentary’ by Katie Couric and that 9 seconds of silence is STILL THERE! Assholes.

Is it politically incorrect to call anyone that doesn’t own a gun with plenty of ammunition a moron?

Yeah, that’s my neck of the woods. Most of these people are harmless, decent folks but many are a bunch of fucksticks looking forward to their own “Ruby Ridge” moment.

You really need to vet the various groups carefully if you’re going to throw in with them. Luckily I’m not a follower, or leader for that matter, so I’m not too concerned with them but I like to know who and what is around.

The so called 3% society (first link below) is run by a particularly heinous little shit named Sam Kerodin, or Christian Hyman or Sam Christian Hyman or Christian Hyman Kerodin, or Sam Kerrilion or Courtland Grojean or one of dozens of other names he goes by. Ken Lane (Wirecutter) over at http://www.knuckledraggin.com and some of those duped by Sam are doing a pretty good job of ruining Sammy at the moment. He’s already a felon having been convicted of extortion in WA D.C. but he was still able to deceive many. He wanted to start something called The Citadel in about 2009 or so. When I read about it I googled the primaries involved and learned all about Sammy’s felony conviction and his legal name change plus his use of aliases with one search. Still, he convinced a few to pony up big bucks (now gone) for nothing.

Members of the other group (second link) go around intentionally antagonizing the feds even when the feds aren’t fucking with them. One family armed themselves, including their sub-fifteen year old children and then went down to the federal courthouse to protest against shit that hasn’t even happened. The feds bent over backward (by the families OWN video) to give the guy a break but he refused to relent and got himself arrested and guns taken. I don’t get it myself. Why move here to be left alone and then form or join groups do everything except leave others alone or keep to yourself?

That 44% is actually the 44% who admit to having guns in their home.

As for me, I have no guns of any kind and certainly not in my home.

That’s true.

Really.

NSA internet spies, please make note of that.

As a free American citizen I have discovered some absolutes 1) I never believe anything my government tells me , “NOTHING” ! 2) Generally if any government entity fed , state , local announces a ban on anything or claims we no longer should have some item . I believe we need to stock up big !
The law of unintended consequences reins supreme in any government programs laws offices etc where concealing the truth becomes the real intent . Yes they all lie if they didn’t there very power and exsentance would be in jeporidy .
Tell the truth about any possessions I privately own yes sure ok be right there

The anti-gun people are working at a huge disadvantage, and that is their ignorance on many levels when it comes to guns.

I’ll just point out one of many points they’re ignorant on.

Guns are not that hard to make. People in India and the Philippines produce guns illegally in their back yards with just basic hand tools. The average American has much better tools in their garages and many Americans even have laths and milling machines and producing guns from scratch would be child’s play.

Aren’t drugs illegal?

Making your own barrels is a bitch. It can be done, but it is not at all easy. Making good magazines is a masochistic endeavor, too – possible, not easy.

If all you need to build is the frame or receiver, you are almost at the finish line before you have started. If you buy parts, pay cash. Google “80% guns”.

There was a quote that I read once, but I can’t find it anymore. It basically said something along the lines of, if you think it’s bad now, wait until you don’t have guns to defend yourself, then watch what they do to you.

When even so-called Republicans by a majority favor a gov’t data base for purchases and a super majority favor an administrative, gov’t employee decision to waive your Constitutional right called the Second Amendment, you should very much expect it all to come to pass. It’s all over folks.
