QUOTES OF THE DAY

“History, like love, is so apt to surround her heroes with an atmosphere of imaginary brightness.”

James Fenimore Cooper

“The first duty of a man is to think for himself”

José Martí

“History is always written by the winners. When two cultures clash, the loser is obliterated, and the winner writes the history books-books which glorify their own cause and disparage the conquered foe. As Napoleon once said, ‘What is history, but a fable agreed upon?”

Dan Brown

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

Carl Sagan

I quit listening to what anyone is saying as soon as they say they know what happened BILLIONS of years ago Carl. Yeah right and I’m an Amish jet pilot.

“I’m an Amish jet pilot.”

You might as well be with the quality (low) and frequency (annoying to say the least) of your comments.

Thank you for your every post and raising the level of the conversation.

Take your medicine and don’t forget to eat a lunch.

Yeah, like your comment raised the bar. And how do you know how often I comment? You keeping tabs? If they don’t like my comments here then they can monitor them and delete them. If you are an admin have at it. I wouldn’t want you get all butt hurt over my inane comments, so I will try to restrain myself until I can come up to your standards. NOT.

In today’s terms, all of the quotes are relevant. In terms of our past history, all of the quotes are spot on. Our leaders are a joke and history is a lie and the charlatan will enchant you then betray you.
