Without a doubt. And I produced one of them with the ability to calculate rocket science.

But, he might not know who won the Civil War either.

Shameful. If I was an idiot and saw this guy coming, I’d cover my face and run.

It is a combo of Common Core Crap curriculum and constant video games and no books. Books are not included in the communist public schools…and to make ends meet both parents have to work now a days so no guidance, no bible being read or taught only confusing math and communistic news articles for our children’s brains…COMMON CORE IS COMMUNISM AND SHOULD BE OUTLAWED.

I used to teach criminal justice at a university. I was appalled at the lack of critical thinking ability and the inability to write properly. I concluded it was because they don’t read books so they are never exposed to good writing and proper spelling.

I mean, I know they are cherry picking to get that many bad responses in a day’s work, but damn. C’mon now folks.

I know he must cherry pick these, but still, what a tribute to their parents, and the government schools.

Think of me what you want, but these are examples of the ‘extra’ people that should be purged. Hopefully by some natural event.

The fact that he can find Americans who don’t know about the Civil War at all is terrifying. I can’t imagine being trapped in a mind that weak.

If any of those people had known what a “civil war” is they would have been able to ID the only such war in our country’s history.

And people talk about how Clinton won the popular vote in California.

A more interesting question would be:

Why was the civil war fought?

Hint: “to eliminate slavery” is not the correct answer.

I’ll answer that–for 500 Alex. What is to keep the tariff revenues flowing to the central government. The Federal government got 75% of its operating revenues from Southern tariffs and to satisfy a pathological president.

Dear Madam,

I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant-General of Massachusetts, that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom. Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

P.S.

Mrs. Bixby was believed to be a Confederate sympathizer and destroyed the original letter.

Fate, if nothing else, has a sense of humor.

That was a great letter, I wonder if it is true accounting and not fabricated. It seems inconsistent with what I know of Lincoln. Then again, we are often contradictory and inconsistent.

shhh.

I have a couple fully indebted and jobless liberal University Graduates (liberal arts & art history – chortle-snicker) out in the yard unloading paver bricks in the light rain and cold.

Don’t upset them with fact or reason until they get done. I have some firewood that needs moving next.

ps: They are both big Meryl (sp?) Streep fans. They told me so this morning.

Greetings,

I know exactly how you feel. I live in the heart of ultra liberal communist California with people your cold and wet university (sic) graduates would feel at home with. They, too, confess their unwavering admiration for this Streep lady. We even had some rain today which hid their tears.

I am less concerned that they never heard of the Civil War than that they will vote for the communist, don’t know how to produce food and will lose the next war.

I think it was Jay Leno who started these person-in-the-street (or on the beach) quizzes in his “Jaywalking” segments years ago. Now he has a number of imitators.

There are many videos of this type on YouTube including Leno’s originals. They are both funny and appalling to watch. Anything that happened more than fifteen years ago is unknown to many people. Even a question like, “Which countries border the United States?” is often flunked.
