Question of the Day, Feb 16

With the “Swamp” now opening both barrels on Trump, will Trump succeed in draining it, or did he underestimate how deep the water is, and how much it stinks?

He won’t succeed. The entire complex he is in charge of is corrupt to the core and stand arm-in-arm in opposition to him. He’d have to fire the entire corps of managers, SES, etc. to have any chance. They can (and will) resist simply by not doing what he says … a few will step out in active defense, like the 9th Circuit did and now the intelligence services. But the targets are in the tens of thousands and he has only a dozen or fewer loyal captains he can depend on.

The first step on the path to success is deferring the obstacles blocking the way. The next step,. which Trump hasn’t had time to take, is removing the rabble, by any means necessary. #MAGA

I want him to win, but I have little confidence that he will.

Unfortunately I think the best outcome for the liberty-minded is if the “deep state” attacks him in such a vicious way that the military and the basically honest go-alongs in the federal LE agencies get mad and start turning on the deep state. This could happen a couple different ways. If/when it does happen, the current fireworks will look like nothing in comparison. Expect to see LEO’s arresting or trying to arrest each other and some real uncertainty as to which government agents are “legitimate” and which are not.

For to happen, they need ‘high cover.’ Tweets won’t cut it. I mean like A-10 effective.

As one can see, he needs to have a wholesale sweep-out of the bureaucracy, and that is virtually impossible; so he’s really up against it. He needs our help and support to accomplish the task.

I think it’s too much for one man, even with Trump’s ego and drive, to do alone. If he can muster the right subordinates and really get the right behind him it could be done.
But it will be bloody. It will come to that before success can be achieved.
The left’s pervasive infiltration of the entire government makes it a monumental task.
I pray he can do it. Nothing less than our children’s future and the nation’s existence hangs in the balance.

On the plus side, some of Trump’s appointees are excellent choices for effectiveness and loyalty.

It is not much of an exaggeration to say that Ret. Gen. Mattis is worshiped as a GOD by Marines. He is also well respected by most of the military, though not worshiped to the same extent. If things get ugly and he’s still on the scene, he will have absolute loyalty from the USMC and is likely to get loyalty from most of the rest of the military.

Likewise, Trump’s conservative pick for Attorney General will have the allegiance of most of the good people in the FBI and other powerful agencies, to an extent that may allow him to work those agencies around the embedded leftists.

I think VP Pence is likely to have a solid following from most of the same people. I just hope he isn’t a neocon under deep cover.

Trump has a good shot at turning the most powerful parts of the fedgov to his side and keeping them there. That raises the potential for outright conflict between fedgov and states, and also with powerful NGOs like the Soros crap. I would argue that we have been watching this battle for 3 weeks now. Federal judges are a tricky issue because so many are deep-state types (some without even realizing it) and having judicial rulings against the administration will complicate things.

Do you find it odd that Pence rarely has negative press? This is starting to concern me.

I don’t know. People don’t tend to have strong feelings about him, which I find odd because much of Trump’s bitter opposition is from LGBT people who think he’s Hitler, while Trump is actually no worse than tied with Obama for the most pro-gay president in history, far ahead of Bill Clinton or even Killary. Pence on the other hand is not so pro-gay.

Other than that, VPs don’t get that much attention except when making gaffes, and then only if the press hates them. Quayle was always a target, but Biden and Cheney not so much, and Gore not at all.

The “swamp” is like an inoperable brain cancer.

It’s inoperable because you can’t remove it without either killing the patient or leaving him a hopeless vegetable.

And it will keep growing if it isn’t removed making things worse on top of it, the only thing that can be done is to try to slow it down so the patient lives a little longer..

Nothing can be done to change this.

Anon- NOBODY loves a swampy brain cancer of that sort like a gaggle of BILLIONAIRES. They just find it so warm and comfy and they even seem to thrive in that environment.

Meanwhile the tadpoles are smashed under the feet of the big gators, they will never be comfy. Such is life in the swamp.

Trump cannot succeed if the Republican Party continues to stonewall him. The intransigence was expected but unforgivable nevertheless. I hate the phony GOP more than anybody else in DC. I’d like to put a couple of hot pokers into Paul Ryan’s sparkly blue eyes. I know that’s not a very Christian thing to say, but damn, he is a devil.

And the APOLOGISTS blather forth the reasons why he can’t succeed. Flash stated the other day that Trump is a god/conqueror……so conquer already Donald.

I see the Donald at this point as a guy water skiing behind his yacht throwing chum to the gators and extra rations to the Goldman end of the swamp. NO BANKSTER GATORS will be harmed in this reality show.

This should be easy-peasy for El Trumpo…….the god/conqueror.

Dont try this at home, but I’m wondering what effect a good old fashioned tar & feathering would have on politically driven judges. Catch one or two of the self-important bastards on a random hunting trip in Texas or at a pizza parlor in DC & let the good times roll. It gives me tingles down me leg.

He is wasting time and energy ranting at the press … they don’t care and don’t matter. Spend your energy crafting lazer-directed EO’s to the SES and if they don’t perform, terminate them.

Phoolish – I disagree. I think he needs to do those press conferences at least weekly, and stay in full on attack mode. He needs the people to see him and hear him.

The press is a blathering lying chorus of paid actors.
Trump is right to point it out. One step at a time people,
but then it wouldn’t hurt to tell the bean counters that
if they resign now! they can avoid prosecution.
Wait until the pictures come out…I think Trump is working
quietly behind the scenes to identify the pedos and thieves.
I like Trump, I trust him to negotiate for the peoples best
interest…and I think now, at this stage of life, he is a fully
moral man. Nobody is perfect.
