Looking for Bears

Guest Post by Rob in Nova Scotia

There has been much talk for many years about Global warming. Its unseen and seen effects on society.  However the talk this week at the water coolers at workplaces in this part of Canada isn’t how warm it has been. No sir! Instead many cannot help but remark on how cold March has been in Nova Scotia. And folks it has been cold. Some even say one the coldest on record.

This province cannot even keep schools open because the weather has been so bad. Parents everywhere spend many restless nights wondering if little Johnnie will be able to get on the yellow bus the next morning to learn how to read, write and articulate.

Me, I don’t have that problem. The kids are grown. The problem these days does seem much worse. When I was young school didn’t get cancelled unless something truly biblical was taking place. Consequently back then I prayed to the Lord above to grant me my wish and keep me from school. In those days he didn’t listen so well because I went to school.

It seems the demise of Polar Bears by the World Wildlife Fund has been a bit premature with their pronouncements of the impending extinction event about to befall Polar Bears. I contemplated a misspent youth drinking Coke when I could have been drinking Canada Dry.

See last night while surfing the net I found article on CBC news.

I now read that once again the Bears are roaming our shores. Talking to my neighbour Jacques Shelaque and he tells me that the bears, though cuddly looking, have taken to eating cats and dogs since the seals left for Newfoundland.

I took this picture about a month ago at wharf in Arisaig when seals had come ashore to have their pups.

So I decided to fearlessly go to wharf in Arisaig to see for myself. I even saw one or two so I grabbed my wife’s cellphone to get it on tape. Somewhat unfortunate it is a Blackberry Curve so camera quality isn’t great. Looking at video though if one looks far enough you can see them on the ice.

Chem-spraying is making it worse.

Looks like the Polar Bears are praying for warmer weather too.

nkit, your image seems to convey a shrunken congregation of whiggers. Looks like Sharia law is in the wings.

Yeah we are a bit behind the times but the phone works and the bears aren’t much interested in stealing it.

Bears seem pretty adaptable and yours going after household pets ( not their traditional diet) seems to ‘bear’ this out. Grizzly bears will mate with polar bears so as and if polar bears move they likely will become hybrid bears and become omnivores. Curious though why grizzly and black bears do not appear to interbreed. Glad they don’t as I don’t want 1000 lbs bears foraging in garbage cans in suburbia.

Had a black bear n my back deck a couple years back. He took off to woods with my golf clubs and proceeded to tear apart bag. Flinging balls and clubs everywhere in search of something to eat. Not sure why Grizzlies aren’t interested in getting their groove on with Black Bears.

They do seem to be getting more aggressive because they are tired of the bigger bears pushing them around.

Here’s is a link to story aboot that misunderstood bear.

Nova Scotians bellyaching about winter – reminds me of the time one New Year’s evening when I pulled over and offered to help four gay guys whose car had gotten stuck in the snow. I figured we’d all just push, right? They all demurred, preferring to wait for a tow truck. Then I realized that none of them wanted to mess up their princess slippers.

PEI and NS are a long way from the range of grizzly bears. Have any grizzlies actually been sighted there ? The article above talks about Wapusk National Park in Manitoba on Hudson Bay where grizzlies, black bears, and polar bears can be seen. PEI and NS are very close to traditional polar bear range . Link below shows the ranges of the bears of North America :

Thanks Max. You’re a regular Sherlock. Like I said if you looked far enough you can see the Polar Bears. Anyways the reason I did this is the ocean near where I live, at Arisaig Nova Scotia looks like place where the Eskimoes live.

45.7500° N, 62.1667° W

This ocean here is covered with ice as far as the eye can see. Sure it is in some way due to wind conditions but I have been under the impression that this planet is warming. It is April 1st and it looks to this fool that Al Gore’s hockey stick is another one of the left wing United Nations sponsored circle jerk fantasies that have less to with Science and more to do with control.

You might know this but at one time the Polar Bears traditional range extended to Nova Scotia. But they don’t make great neighbours so we shot them all and chased the rest away.

Time to carry out same plan with all the Left-tards trying to run the world.

Hory Clap! I live farther north than 45.7500N latitude! My slice of paradise is at 47.6588N. Unfortunately it’s been getting into the sixties here lately with loads o sunshine. I was out on the patio yesterday drinking a beer and had to fish two flies out of it and squeeze the little bastards to get ’em spit out what they had slurped up before I killed them. It’s a sure sign that spring has sprung. I like sunshine but prefer the cold.

Once they’re in the Gulf of St. Lawrence the polar bears could end up on any shoreline along the Gulf:

I feel for ya Rob. I used to beg for snow days in Montana as a kid but if the snow got bad they simply had the buses follow the plows and we all got to school…..on time…..in any weather.

Yeah I am so done with winter. Everything is on hold because of all the snow. Like you when I was young I didn’t mind the snow but now older the novelty quickly wears off. I just want some of the Global warming to shine this way. Still cant complain. Just finished a beer while repurposing some free kitchen cupboards for my gargage. No bugs so no worries.
