Pelosi Demands “Reprehensible” Confederate Statues Be Removed From Capitol

As the nation’s left attempts to out-virtue-signal one another, Democratic Party leader nancy Pelosi just one-upped New York Governor Cuomo’s street-name-removal demands, by calling for all Confederate statues to be removed from The Capitol.

Pelosi Calls for Removal of Confederate Statues From Capitol

Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement calling on Speaker Ryan to join Democrats in supporting legislation to remove Confederate statues from the Capitol:

The halls of Congress are the very heart of our democracy. The statues in the Capitol should embody our highest ideals as Americans, expressing who we are and who we aspire to be as a nation.

The Confederate statues in the halls of Congress have always been reprehensible. If Republicans are serious about rejecting white supremacy, I call upon Speaker Ryan to join Democrats to remove the Confederate statues from the Capitol immediately.

Under the leadership of Democrats in Congress, we have recognized more women and people of color in Congress’s collection of statues, including Rosa Parks, Sojourner Truth and Helen Keller. As Speaker, we relocated Robert E. Lee out of a place of honor in National Statuary Hall — a place now occupied by the statue of Rosa Robert E. Lee out of a place of honor in National Statuary Hall — a place now occupied by the statue of Rosa Parks.

“There is no room for celebrating the violent bigotry of the men of the Confederacy in the hallowed halls of the United States Capitol or in places of honor across the country.”

As Jim Quinn concluded so eloquently, Trump was absolutely correct in asking, “Where does it end?”

Washington owned slaves. Do we get rid of all dollar bills and quarters? Do we change the name of our capital? Do we change the name of Washington & Lee University to Obama & Spike Lee University? Do we blow up the Washington Memorial?

Jefferson owned slaves. Do we get rid of nickles? How about the Jefferson Memorial?

Why stop only in our country? The Egyptian pyramids were built by slaves. Should we tear those down? If these are symbols of hatred and racism that must be destroyed, why do we never hear calls from the left for the destruction of the Nazi death camps. Talk about symbols of hate. Why would we want to remember the holocaust? It couldn’t be that it doesn’t fit the left’s narrative.

This Confederate monument narrative is designed by the left to provoke a backlash from whites who are tired of being scorned, ridiculed, belittled and called racists, rednecks and deplorables by so called open minded progressives. It’s working. The cold race war is beginning to turn hot. The president has no intention of trying to bring the two sides together because it’s impossible at this point. That’s how Fourth Turnings roll. The mood of the country will continue to darken. Reactions to these types of events will intensify. More blood will be shed. It’s too bad these functional illiterates didn’t pay attention in history class or ever read a book. They are going to learn some harsh lessons over the next decade.

Hag, WE are not a democracy. When you finally figure out what type of Government you are destroying, maybe I’ll take your senility seriously. Until then, FUCK OFF!!!

Nice shout-out there Jim!

As long as we’re collectively losing our marbles. Perhaps we should remove the fasci that sit on either side of the speakers seat in the House of Representatives.

After isn’t that goal here to remove fascist and racist symbols of hate? Oh I believe they are also on the back side of old dimes…..too bad for those hateful dimes. Melt them down!

BTW Jim, I cross posted your “Functional Illiterates” article and it is stirring a lot of praise and positive feedback from my circle of friends. Excellent piece I must say!

Dear Nancy:
I am in favor of taking you down. Erase you from history completely. That is why Trump is President. Because millions of Americans voted to have YOU and your fellow Swamp Creatures “removed”.
Did you not get the memo?
Remove the statues, but I hope you’re next.

I doubt it will do much good to demand the reprehensible Pelosi be removed from the Capitol.

I think we should take all this to its logical conclusion—all members of the Democratic Party should be publicly shamed and forced to pay reparations for being members of the party that brought us slavery, fought to keep it, the KKK, Jim Crow, eugenics and the “solid South” that helped elect Dems for 135 years. They are the party of Bull Conner and George Wallace with KKK members serving on the Supreme Court and in both halls of Congress until only recently. Everything we are faced with now is because of them as regards race relations. These same members have been celebrated by Pelosi, the Clintons and countless others. Time to finally call these racists out. Especially important is the removal of all plaques and paintings of the Dems that voted against the Civil Rights Act. Al Gore’s family comes to mind. This didn’t take pace 150 years ago. This was recently. Saying we have changed is not enough.

So if we are going to have a “cultural revolution with re-education camps, let’s do it right!

It would be nice if the several states would all agree to just dissolve the union. Just be done with the whole idea. Whether that would mean small individual states going alone or grouping together in regional groupings, I don’t really care. Could the Congress and Senate pass a bill that would dissolve the union? Would the supreme court or executive branch try harder to stop it?

Sure just a silly dream, but if there were a way to move towards that end goal without violence I’d love to hear about it.

I second that motion. In addition, the profits
made by the Xspeaker, via contracts awarded
to the Pelosi family (v. nepotism/power of office),
essentially illegal, must be returned to public
coffers with interest.

I demand we not only remove statues of only confederate democrats, but of all democrats, both statues and fossilized members of the house of reps. No Robert Byrd Federal Buildings, and no more Pelosis.

This is like the perfect storm for a fourth turning heat up.

Eight years of liberal progressives swooning over obama, then riding the popular wave of a promised hilary presidency. Empowerment was soaring on the left, the progressive agenda train would not stop!

The right was feeling absolute dread, the left was going to have at least four more years, hilary would pack the Supreme Court with more progressives that would abolish the Constitution. Doomed.

Then Trump wins, the left is crushed and the right suddenly feels the empowerment even as the media unleashes warning after warning about how a Trump presidency will lead to women’s and minority rights being taken away.

The race war that started with white cops killing blacks at what seemed like once a week under obama is gone, yet the black fury remains.
And replaced by what? A sudden resurgence of white supremacist Nazi’s?

Sounds too hollywood. Stay away from crowds.

Considering the amount of unwarranted flack that the duly elected President is getting I would say that your press has been infiltrated by crazy people. I think your President never thought he would be President and they thought the same because Hillary said it was time and it was applauded. But It happened and even in the Antipodes the craziness of the (same)press abounds. I have a lifetime friend who has gone so feral on your President that I think he has become completely unhinged mentally. I think Donald Trump is struggling with being a President because he is a builder and not a career politician. Personally I like builders because they create things unseen and know the value of a dollar. I also think he is very intelligent but surrounded by people who are motivated in other areas. He gets bad advise I guess and is unjustly terrorized the moment he says anything. The Republican are nothing but a millstone around his neck. However when push comes to a shove that man will stand his ground as he has had to do his entire life. I could never say he is brought and paid for and for that you should give him full support. I like him more and more every day because he drives people nuts. He strips them of their bullshit and exposes them for the shallow people they are and in full light. If the only thing he ever does is do this he has done more for America than anyone.
