Good luck to all Texas TBPers. A year’s worth of rain in a couple days is scary.
It will be Trump’s fault. Al Gore was right. The BLM, Antifa and SJWs will claim Harvey is a white mans name and is further proof of a white supremacist conspiracy. Wolf Blitzer will agree. CNN is already preparing stories about the awful Federal response due to Trump’s budget cuts that haven’t happened.
How unfortunate that in this uncertain time we live in, the only thing we can truly rely on, is the consistency of the fake news being uncompromisingly fake.
Last time one of them came through, it blew the back porch off my hideaway.

In an effort to appease the social justice warriors, I think the National Weather Service should change their naming convention for hurricanes. Let’s get rid of the names derived from white people like Harvey and Amelia and switch to some like this:
Baracheisha
Bon’Quisha
Brishawna
Sha Nay Nay
Twerkeisha
Sharmane
Niggateesha
I think the white boys (the only ones successfully graduating college with knowledge of meteorology) would enjoy coming up with names for future storms.
The Russians have very advanced weather-changing technology. Really.
I think they are interfering with our weather. CuNNt will be covering this for the next 6 months.
Trump’s comments about Charlottesville made the sea angry.

FWIW, something close to half of our refinery output is in that area, if it turns out to be as bad as some people are saying it is we could end up seeing a significant increase in gas prices.
And that would be Trump’s fault for not diversifying our refinery locations to avoid massive disruption from a calamity of some king in just a small area of the country.
I grew up on the TX gulf coast and my father worked in the oil business so I picked up a few things over the years. Just checked the EIA figures. Texas has 30 oil refineries and processes just over 5.5 million barrels/day. US daily oil consumption is just under 20.0 million barrels. So just over 25% of that is being refined in the Lone Star State.
On top of that oil production from off shore GoM wells and inland wells is a huge portion of US production. For all the press that the Bakken gets Texas is still the king when it comes to American crude and that will be offline for a while. Not to mention all the foreign crude that comes into the country from the gulf coast. A hurricane is big enough to keep tankers away from deep water platforms like the LOOP. That right there is another +1M barrels/day gone.
I’m a little out of date on my knowledge of pipelines but the big ones coming out of the Texas gulf coast are the Dixie and Colonial lines going into Georgia/SC and PA/NY respectively. AFAIK there is still a ton of crude stockpiled in Cushing but not sure how much refined product is going east vs. crude to supply east coast refineries.
Even a small disruption in TX will affect price in the near term. Long term there could be spot shortages at the end of the pipeline. Thankfully I live in an area well supplied by ND and Canadian crude which isn’t affected by those pesky hurricanes created by W Bush’s weather machine. But in the world of commodity prices we all pay.
Harvey is the 64th hurricane to hit Texas since 1851, so who do they blame for the other 63 ??
Well since we now know Baron Trump is a time traveler, obviously still Trump!
I’ve been watching the Weather Channel all day. The head of FEMA had a press conference and you should listen to the questions.
There are reports illegal aliens are afraid to go shelters because they will be arrested. ( not a bad idea but the Red Cross is operating the shelters not ICE!)
How can Trump demonstrate he has the qualifications to lead during a natural disaster?
I live 15 miles south of Houston, 50 miles from the Gulf. The big danger will be flooding of the low-lying areas, which greatly outnumber the high spots (which are not very high, anyway). This part of Texas is flat, scruffy and downright ugly in places. The Houston area has been paved over as only a metro area bigger than Rhode Island, complete with 6.7 million people, can possibly be.
When I moved here, the biggest difference I noticed in the climate was the volume of rain – when it rains. We often go a whole month or more without it. Then something like this comes along, and I assure you, you have probably never seen rain like it can rain here. Just imagining rainfall of 25″ to 30″ in a 24-hour period doesn’t do justice to the actual experience. The record rainfall ever recorded in North America happened in Alvin, Texas — about 12 miles from my house. It rained a total of 48″ in 24 hours! 4 FEET OF RAIN IN A SINGLE DAY! FUCK ME!
I live in an area that is considered high ground, and relatively insulated from all the runoff and accumulation, with great drainage, etc. Whatever. If the clouds should happen to converge over my house, and stay long enough in one place, just call me Alvin…
By Sunday the media will be pissed at Trump because he didn’t pull up in a Kayak in the Gulf turning back the water.
