Avoid a Harvey Hooptie

Guest Post by Eric Peters

As the waters recede from Houston, thousands of flooded cars will be aired out – and shipped out – to unsuspecting used car lots all over the country. Their titles as “washed” as their interiors (and the rest of them, too).

As OJ used to say – and will probably say soon again – look out!

A Hot Mess

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

It wasn’t until more than a week after Hurricane Katrina slammed into New Orleans in 2005 that the full extent of the damage was recognized and so it will go with the hot mess where Houston used to be. Mostly, it is inconceivable that the business activity which made Houston the nation’s fourth largest city and, according to Chris Martenson, equal to the 10th largest economy in the world, will ever return to what it was before August 26, 2017.

The major activity there has been the refining and distribution of oil products, and no activity is more central to the functioning of the US economy. So the public and our currently clueless leaders across the political spectrum, plus a legacy news media lost in the carnival of race and gender freak shows, is about to discover the dynamic relationship between energy and an industrial economy.

HOPE@ZERO KELVIN REPORTING FROM HOUSTON

Guest Post by Hope@Zero Kelvin

It is even worse than this article suggests. We are scheduled to get more rain and the big reservoirs have to start releasing water before they break (!!!). Livingston and Conroe dams are due to start releasing water as well. This will make the flooding even worse. We are watching the worst weather event to hit a major American city since Galveston got wiped off the map last century. Fortunately, the loss of life will be minimal (I think) but the property damage is going to be greater than Katrina. The impact on the gas/oil industry is yet to be determined.

All our major highways are either underwater or their access roads are. Our two airports, Bush and Hobby, have suspended operations until Wed. Fortunately, most places have power. The Houston metroplex is about 1/2 through this disaster.

Shocking Drone Footage Shows Harvey’s “Unprecedented” Devastation, “No Parallel To Any Rainstorm In US History”

Tyler Durden's picture

Based on the number of people affected, amount of water involved, and other factors, meteorologists have warned, there may be no parallel available to any other rainstorm in U.S. history as Mashable’s Andrew Freeman reports Tropical Storm Harvey has dropped more than 11 trillion gallons of water on Texas, triggering catastrophic, unprecedented flooding in the Houston area.

The rains have broken all-time records, exceeding the rainfall totals seen during Tropical Storm Allison in 2001… and it could be about to get a lot worse as forecasters are expecting the storm to turn back and drench what is left of Houston once again midweek.

HOW CAN THE MSM BLAME TRUMP FOR HARVEY

Good luck to all Texas TBPers. A year’s worth of rain in a couple days is scary.

It will be Trump’s fault. Al Gore was right. The BLM, Antifa and SJWs will claim Harvey is a white mans name and is further proof of a white supremacist conspiracy. Wolf Blitzer will agree. CNN is already preparing stories about the awful Federal response due to Trump’s budget cuts that haven’t happened.
