In the 1960’s they tried to fight organized religion: sue towns for Christmas Trees (who the fuck doesn’t like a Christmas Tree?), and plaques in city hall, etc. I can remember in my hometown, the post office (which was built around 1900) had tiles on the floor, some of them had a 6-point star. These dumb fucks wanted them removed. Didn’t work.

Now nobody gives a fuck what you believe or if you believe.

Their philosophy (if there ever was one) is finished / done / kaput / obsolete.

I for one hope the day is done where one atheist individual who is butthurt over a religious whatthe fuckever is told to take a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut when they demand to get their way over the majority.

I’m a fallen Catholic, haven’t been to church in 20 years other than weddings or funerals, don’t care if you believe, don’t believe, want me to believe or not. Put up your displays and sing the songs, it’s pretty and harms no one.

Thats me. I’m an athiest, have been since I was 10 or 12 years old. Cannot stand organized religion and think the catholic church especially is an evil stain on humanity.

That being said, every year we put up a nice big christmas tree, send out christmas cards, say merry christmas, give christmas presents, and enjoy the christmas season with family and friends. I get positively infuriated with all the ‘holiday trees’ and the need to purge the word christmas from America. To me, even though I don’t like organized religion, I see all of this anti-christmas nonsense for what it is – an organized attempt to remove all remnants of traditional western society from the world.

Why can’t people just let people believe what they want to believe without interference? If Jose wants to believe in god and Hose B wants to believe in Allah or if Apu wants to believe in Brahman WTF do I care. If that’s what it takes to get them through the day without infringing on my freedom then more power to ’em.

There’s a group of assclown atheists over in Olympia WA who put up a big stink every year (or they did when I still watched the news) demanding to put up all sorts of posters right next to the other Christmas displays in the Capital to “counter” the Christian influence. I still can’t figure out how not believing counters believing but I’m pretty sure it makes no sense at all.

Proselytizing Christians I understand …. “go preach to the nations”, and all that.

But what’s up with proselytizing ATHEISTS??? What the fuck is in it for them if they convince someone to believe in nothing?

Aggressive atheists — those who push their views on others, or want special privileges because of their belief in non-belief — well, they suck ass even more than aggressive Christians. I wish both groups would leave the rest of us alone.

And what’s up with proselytizing “skeptics” who seem so certain that the God of the Bible is a fairy tale that they use every opportunity to blaspheme God and sling juvenile barbs towards his followers on this forum? How is that preferable to proselytizing ATHEISTS???

Hypocrite!

Maybe the God of the Bible is a fairy tale. Maybe not. HOW could I ever know for sure …. I am but a mere mortal whose flesh will soon enough turn to dust.

What I do —- and, never at “every turn” but only when appropriate —- is that I question everything da Good Book says, and how people interpret what they think they believe.

This, of course, upsets the Apple cart. Most people don’t want to think. Faith is faith, now bug off with your blasphemous bullshit, they say. Thinking is hard. Blindly following is easy.

But, you read all my stuff. And deep down in the crevasses of your closed mind once in a while something I write causes you to think … “Holy Crap! What if Stucky is right??” This may last only but a moment or two before your faith kicks in — for faith is practically unconquerable — and you say to yourself “Begone Satan!!” …. and you go to your computer to hurl insults at me, which never ever address the thing that pissed you off in the first place.

You can deny this all you want but I know you . For I was once you, and I too screamed at all the pricks making me question my cherished beliefs. Fortunately, I won.

Lastly, you forgot to tell me to ‘go fuck yourself’. I take this as a possible sign that we’re becoming pals. Or, maybe dementia is settling in?

I don’t ‘preach’ atheism to anyone, or the lack of belief in a higher power, but I do point out to so called conservative people who are Catholics, when the subject comes up, that the church they attend and give money to is actively undermining every other principle they believe in, and is colluding with people who hate them to destroy western society. I do not understand how so many otherwise conservative people can worship an organization with such a rabid leftist as its leader.

Atheism actually meets the USSC requirements for being a religion.

Every lawsuit it brings against Christianity based on Christian presence in public places, which is the only religion the Atheist organizations attack in court, needs to be treated as one religion suing another to remove it from the public to establish their own beliefs as official policy.

This would mean the removal of Christian religious symbols from public places by an Atheist lawsuit would, in effect, mean the replacing of it with the symbol of the Atheist religion.

Don’t know why this is never done, it shouldn’t be that hard to form a legal argument for it using current and past USSC decisions.

For consideration and to stimulate further research and discussion: http://www.newseuminstitute.org/about/faq/has-the-u-s-supreme-court-defined-religion/

Atheistism is not a religion. It is nothing. It is the belief in non-belief. You go your way and I’ll go mine. Don’t try and force me to go yours and I’ll not force you to go mine.

It’s that simple. I believe in science and reality. You can believe in anything damn thing you want. You leave me alone and I’ll leave you alone.

I get so damn tired of the same stupid argument popping up over and over.

Atheism is both arrogant and irrational. Agnosticism is fine. I think unless you believe you are a prophet, everyone is an agnostic. Questioning faith is as old as faith itself. Do I know for a fact that God exists? No, I don’t. I don’t know if one or one million or no Gods exist. Most people sort this out by acculturation. If you were born into a muslim society you will probably be a muslim. Substitute any other religion as you wish. Then there are the outliers who refuse to go along to get along. I am one of those. I choose what to believe. People like me use their best instincts, reason and learning and choose. I have chosen. I don’t know for a fact that I am right. I don’t even know that it matters.

The atheist on the other hand, is absolutely certain that he knows that which is inherently unknowable. It is absurd and really insane. But it is not by itself aggressive so as long as the atheist does not translate belief into action, is harmless. There are lots of people who are borderline insane and manage to otherwise lead productive lives.

Splitting hairs on a bald pate. Air hairs?

Atheism. Anarchism. No leaders. No doc Frankensteins to whom bended knees are owed – the “monster” was right. No cowardice. Simple. But obviously not easy. Look at all those “acculturated” children – feet bound, brains binded (by the lie•t, of course) who never grew up, after all. They are everywhere & when, catechism o’ nine tall taling each other. The sin of gluttony for punishment. Sadomasochism the preferred devil known.

Existential dread is indeed a bitch. And these psych-emotional defense mechanisms are just as indeed a botch.

-The Ways-By John Oxenham-
To every man there openeth
A Way,and Ways,and a Way.
And the High Soul climbs the High way,
And the Low Soul gropes the Low,
And in between, on the misty flats,
The rest drift to and fro.
But to every man there openeth
A High way and a Low.
And every man decideth
The Way his soul shall go.

I came to this blog because I read one of Herr Stuck’s diatribes on religion. I appreciate that he brings up these things.

I try to avoid YoBo’s articles, I can’t add anything there and he has plenty of folks who enjoy the back and forth there.

Stuck’s articles are my thing (except the horsey article). If you don’t like what I have to say, well, skip the article or skip my comments. Simple.

We have plenty of level-headed people to add to the commentary and post appropriate verses from the bible.

We have Vixen, Edwitness, BB, Anonymous, Gayle and a host of others on the side of righteousness who want to discuss topics that impart wisdom instead of reading about the latest liberal outrage or conservative cuckold.
