We’ve been in Wildwood the last few days. It’s virtually deserted. But the weather has been fantastic. Sunny and low 70s. Riding my bike, watching the sunrise over the ocean at high tide. Real clouds in the sky. It’s so quiet you can hear the waves crashing from a mile away. Reading a book on the porch with no distractions. The terrible things happening all over the world can be pushed aside for a moment. You can actually think about life and enjoy nature. We’ve taken long walks on the beach without seeing another soul. Just the sandpipers doing their dance.
Nobody can hide from the Spanish Inquisition! Have fun Jim. We will decipher False Flag 419 here, and let you know when it is safe to go to Vegas, and perform actions deleterious to your liver, bank account and marriage!
so beautiful!
thank you!
Water calms me. It gives me a contented feeling. Valium minus the chemicals. I don’t understand why burial in earth became so prevalent. Who needs a dark wet hole to get plopped in? I guess they wanted someone to know where their rotten carcass could be located. Not me. When i go room temperature float my dead ass out with the tide to find my proper place of rest or perhaps, have whatever remains of me traversing the seas as it will forever more. And if it feeds some critters along the way then all the better.
Thanks for posting.
Damn! Here I thought I was going to enjoy a long story about the trials and tribulations of your journey to the Jersey shore or some incident that happened while there and all I get is some birds on the beach. Not even a seagull shitting on your car!
Enjoy the nice weather and birds but be vewy vewy careful if you go swimming

He’s a goner.
Spent last weekend in Roseburg, Oregon for my dad’s memorial service. Took some time to sit on the third floor balcony of our room overlooking the Umpqua River just contemplating.
White egret hopping from tuft to tuft looking for fish.
Small ducks diving in the slow current to eat aquatic plants? snails?
Canada geese flying upriver about the same height as me. Groups of two or three honking as they flew past- heads rock steady as their powerful wings propelled their heavy bodies.
A hawk soaring down to a nest near the top of a tall, dead tree.
So much activity in an otherwise quiet setting. So enjoyable to just take it all in.
That was enjoyable to watch, thank you for posting it. Along the same lines, there is a short animated film out there called “Piper” about a baby sandpiper’s adventures that is quite cute and well done. It came out about a year ago and won some awards and can be found online. So often, I find watching these calming films and depictions of nature is just what the doctor ordered during these troubled times.
Your time there sounds good for the soul. You have earned it and so has Avalon. There’s nothing to compare with Deserted Beach Therapy.

It’s a beautiful motherfuckin thing, no doubt about it.
Thanks for posting that Admin.
Last week there was a notion on my part of writing something with the aim of posting it on your fine blog. But the tragic events of these past days have taken all my outrage and set it aside.
Instead I too have spent some time myself down by the sea.
I, too, feel your pain RiNS. Losing Bautista is going to be a real gut punch in 2018……that is a tragic event, indeed. Only a true fan could set aside their outrage over that. Wait till next year!
Yeah been a tuff year to be a fan of the Jays. On the bright side Bautista mailed it in this year and frankly in my opinion he should retire. He has all of the sudden become unable to hit fastballs. And speaking of fastballs they signed Estrada. 14 million for a guy who throws 88 miles an hour on top end. Hey I have an idea, I will call him 14/88. That should at least get some cackles in the bar…
One thing I know for sure.
He ain’t Greg Maddox…
Amazing how much he is worth on the back of one decent year in 2016. Yankees and Red Sox in Playoffs. I can’t even watch it. And the sad part is like you point out Jays are going to be at back of bus next year again.
I need a new past time in dog days of summer.Maybe I will just take my beer and head for the shore…
Very enjoyable and calming. Thanks, Admin.
Admin – one of the reasons I live where I live is exactly as you describe. I do not like cities. I do not like lots of people near me. Right now I am watching the sun go down iver the hills, sipping a nice scotch.
Glad you are ok.
All those pussies in National Felon League should take note..

See?
There is much to be said for living somewhere that isn’t packed to the gills with human beings and their baggage.
Enjoy every second.
Not a great picture as I was using my better half’s Blackberry Curve but this is my view out front window in morning. There are times when I am very happy to be living out in the Boonies!

I am sitting on my enclosed porch, bird sounds all around.
What did Maggie say? Can’t see anyone from my porch?
I love sandpipers. Thanks admin.
