I’ve clicked on a few, like John Coster’s ad but for some reason I never see the big boob ads everyone claims to see, not that I’d click on it but still. Maybe I have better adblocking software then everyone else or the ad people know that I don’t ever spend money on anything.
I don’t click on Yo’s vids because I already went through all that stuff a while ago, nothing new there. And because I really don’t want to spend my energy on the being outraged gig. Those things- the meta-issues of race/society/crime/government- they’re like the weather. Nothing you can do about it anyway. I do enjoy reading the comments of other people here because I have come to respect a lot of them even when I don’t agree or don’t care so much and I comment because I want to articulate the things I’m thinking in an environment where I feel comfortable enough not to have to walk on eggshells. It’s impossible to do with everyday people and the folks that are drawn to this place all seem to have that weird INTJ thing going on that allows for frank discussion wherever it goes and no one seems to hold a grudge. I think that’s healthy, but the folks on NPR would probably disagree.
I have talked to Yo before about his methodology. I think it’s self-defeating because it isn’t helping him come to terms with his issues. He’s smart enough, funny often, and sincere, but he’s hung up on movements and historical realities that can only be played out on a level way above the human being pay grade.
