The educational achievement of white youngsters is nothing to write home about, but that achieved by blacks is nothing less than disgraceful. Let’s look at a recent example of an educational outcome all too common. In 2016, in 13 of Baltimore’s 39 high schools, not a single student scored proficient on the state’s mathematics exam. In six other high schools, only one percent tested proficient in math. In raw numbers, 3,804 Baltimore students took the state’s math test, and 14 tested proficient. Citywide, only 15 percent of Baltimore students passed the state’s English test.
It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. Last spring, graduation exercises were held at one Baltimore high school, 90 percent of whose students received the lowest possible math score. Just one student came even close to being proficient. Parents and family members applauded the conferring of diplomas. Some of the students won achievement awards and college scholarships. Baltimore is by no means unique. It’s a small part of the ongoing education disaster for black students across the nation. Baltimore schools are not underfunded. Of the nation’s 100 largest school systems, Baltimore schools rank third in spending per pupil.
Let’s look at math. If one graduates from high school without a minimum proficiency in algebra and geometry, he is likely to find whole fields and professions hermetically sealed off to him for life. In many fields and professions, a minimum level of math proficiency is taken for granted.
Let’s look at just one endeavor — being a fighter jet pilot. There are relatively few black fighter jet pilots. There are stringent physical, character and mental requirements that many blacks can meet. But fighter pilots must also have a strong knowledge of air navigation, aircraft operating procedures, flight theory, fluid mechanics and meteorology. The college majors that help prepare undergraduates for a career as a fighter pilot include mathematics, physical science and engineering.
What’s the NAACP response to educational fraud? At a 2016 meeting, the NAACP’s board of directors ratified a resolution that called for a moratorium on charter schools. Among the NAACP’s reasons for this were that it wanted charter schools to refrain from “expelling students that public schools have a duty to educate” and “cease to perpetuate de facto segregation of the highest performing children from those whose aspirations may be high but whose talents are not yet as obvious.” Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys is a charter school. In 2016, 9 percent of its students scored proficient on the state’s math test. This year, over 14 percent did so. It’s in the interest of black people for more of our youngsters to attend better schools. However, it’s in the interest of the education establishment — and its handmaidens at the NAACP — to keep black youngsters in failing public schools.
Few people bother to ask whether there’s a connection between what goes on at predominantly black high schools and observed outcomes. Violence at many predominantly black schools is so routine that security guards are hired to patrol the hallways. The violence includes assaults on teachers. Some have been knocked out, had their jaws broken and required treatment by psychologists for post-traumatic stress disorder. On top of the violence is gross disorder and disrespect for authority.
The puzzling question for me is: How long will black people accept the educational destruction of black youngsters — something that only benefits the education establishment?

We have been trying to domesticate blacks for the last 400 years or so. This has proven to be impossible. Their culture is that of violence, poor impulse control and the need for immediate self-gratification, with no room for a moral component. Here is the simple fact of it. Blacks have an average IQ of 85.
That means half are below that level. That means another 35 percent or whatever are below 100.
And that means around 85% of blacks cannot be proficient at math, no matter how much you spend, and no matter how great the schools are, and no matter how great the effort made.
Get the fuck over it. Pretending you can educate them same as you can Asians or Jews or whites is absurd. It cannot be done. It will never be done.
Concentrate efforts on the top 15% of their cohort. Even then the battle may be insurmountable, as they as a culture do not value education.
This story simply ignores the basic truth, because the basic truth is not politically correct.

Have you seen the data on white, Asian, and Jewish students in the Baltimore City Schools? If not, your conclusion is unfounded and speculation at best. The black students may be scoring higher than the white students; without the data we don’t know.
The problem is at most educational jobs are now affirmative action jobs. Our colleges turn out millions of under-educated but over credentialed women and minorities that the business world has no place for. Education has turned into a wonderful place to park them. Remember 10 years ago the big push to recognize and pay them as professionals the same as doctors and attorneys, even though the education is far less rigorous and lengthy. Many of them have postgraduate degrees which mean basically nothing but ensures them higher pay and pension for life. Kids not learning it’s not the fault of the kids. It’s the fault of the adults doing the teaching. And they’re failing miserably. Until such time as we can purge the system of worthless adults, it’ll never get better for the kids
Marsh – you have mush for brains. There is no universe where a random cohort of blacks will outscore a random cohort of Asians, Jews, or whites. Speculating is guessing. When you know the average IQ of blacks is 85, and Asians and Jews around 107, and whites around 100 it is not speculating. It is deducing.

To solve any problem you first have to admit there is a problem and to also understand the problem.
As long as we can’t “have a conversation about racism” because anyone who is not black is immediately labeled a racist when you attempt to use facts such as noted above, to point out failure of a family unit, gun crime, crime in general, and lack of education as mainly black issues.

How long will it go on is obvious: as long as liberals run the public schools. My question is how much worse will liberal educators make it before Whites riot and refuse to pay for it anymore and the Blacks have to fund their own Welfare & Prison Prep-Schools themselves? Before the Civil Riots Act of 1964 and LBJ’s Great Society, Blacks used to get a decent education; I know because I took a Secondary School Education course just before Integration and we studied and toured several good Black schools. I had no idea that liberalism was about to take over and destroy all that. I heard George Wallace speak in Jacksonville about 1968 and he made the most sense of any politician I’ve ever heard.
Living and working in and around Baltimore and Annapolis for over 42 years , anyone who remotely believes money and buildings or new teaching and grading methods will fix this black educational problem is dellusional at best . Granted about 15% of blacks can achieve and do quite well , we must remember we are talking about 15% of 13.3% of America’s population . That 15% do not need my help to do a thing but the rest are basicly just a pathetic statistic !
Blacks never had it better than they did in the antebellum South. The destruction of the South and the endless racial strife in it’s wake has magnified any and all innate shortcomings of black folks to the n’th degree.

Right, I live in an average middle class suburb, we have four black families that live close by.

Maybe family is the key or just a coincidence but they live in average priced homes, drive average priced cars, have kids and the kids all play very well with the other kids. While walking there is always a stop to exchange small talk.
Then you drive four miles away into the “Heights” and it’s gangs, crime, poverty, whores with scars, depression, no hope and you keep driving, there is no stopping.
Wait till these black kids reach 13 or 14 years of age. THEY WILL TURN ON WHITES…An acquaintance of mine “adopted” three black kids. All was well until just about puberty, when they “turned” on my acquaintance, seeking out their “black roots” and blaming “whitey” for their problems…

Best moment ever. One year they ran a Super Bowl halftime show. They timed it to run exactly in synch with the then boring Super Bowl halftime. Everyone switched over. Somewhere, Richard Gere was at a Super bowl party, and it didn’t go well for him. Cut out of the reruns.

I’m not sure what happened to Blacks.As a kid our town was segregated but there wasn’t the level of hate that exists now.The Blacks had their own small business owners and really nice Churches .Most worked and had Families as I remember.I could walk through the black part of town and not have worry about getting beat up or worse .Relations were ok between Blacks and Whites .This was the mid 60s to early 70s.Maybe Blacks just function best in a blue collar environment.There were cotton Mills and other such factories . Plenty of work for Blacks.That’s all gone now.

Blacks had to be gifted the wheel (and every other technology), remember. At it’s root, what is being lamented is precisely why they are incapable of creating, let alone maintaining, a reasonably well functioning society. Your dirt isn’t that magic, nor is anyone else’s for that matter.

Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell are two scholars whose articles I try to read without fail. I have for quite some time followed them, and it is not surprising to me now (because now I believe I understand what is involved in these “social justice” issues that African-American activists, leaders, and agitators find important) that Williams and Sowell are never invited to mainstream media interviews, talk shows, or panels nowadays to discuss what has been happening in black communities.
Sowell did appear in Fox recently in a one-on-one with Tucker Carlson, and Sowell in younger years appeared in other TV interviews. But I haven’t seen Williams.
People like Sowell and Williams (and others like Larry Elder) are called “uncle Toms” (and if it’s somebody like Peggy Hubbard, “aunt Jemima;” if you don’t know Hubbard, look her up on YouTube).
Now, on a different note.
I’ve been reading articles from various sources which claim that there are IQ differences by race. “The Bell Curve” is something I started reading but haven’t finished. And I’ve also looked at some books written many decades ago, before the PC movement.
I have found it difficult to refute the claim that blacks have lower IQs, even as I have at times struggled to believe it. But the arguments by this claim’s proponents, and facts such as decades-long disparities in achievement (even after so much money is poured into schools) between blacks vs. Asians and whites just cannot be explained away by racism.
Sowell points out that when external differences are attributed to external causes (evil, in this case, deliberate malice aka racism), the activists for social equality will never lack somebody to blame, for there is always evil in this world. But if these external differences have internal causes (culture, habit, personal limits, or even worse, race-by-race differences in IQ), then the activists are fighting a lost battle, for no amount of reparation or remedial measure will permanently abridge these gaps.
Thus, if what Sowell and what the IQ claim proponents are true, then affirmative action is worse than a hoax – it is a deliberate con perpetrated on the American public. Asians and whites are being rejected from Harvard and other elite schools despite having stellar records while Latinos and blacks get in with far lower scores. How is this fair? What did Asians and whites (born in the late 1990s or now in the early 2000s) have to do with any injustices blacks once suffered? If black kids simply can’t get good enough grades, why should John Kim or Paul Smith be rejected from an Ivy League School?
The more I read this stuff, as difficult as it is at times, I struggle and wonder – perhaps the writers and observers of 70, 80, 90, 100 years ago, unencumbered by PC, saw what so many today refuse to believe or denounce as hateful and bigoted. But I do wonder how many of the SJWs of today will in decades from now head to their graves truly convinced that what people said 2 generations ago was really that wrong, ignorant, and racist.
I admit I haven’t “arrived” yet, but that’s why I’m always reading.
