The Moon landing and the shape of the Earth are different topics.

My cornerstone in both cases has been ‘why would you place your trust in people and organizations that have been proven to lie and fabricate evidence routinely over long spans of time in order to obtain wealth and power?’

Liars sometimes tell the truth- and it may very well be the case with both narratives- however experience has led me to believe that it is foolish to place trust in anyone or any institution which has proven themselves to be willing to use falsehoods intentionally to mask their actual intentions.

YMMV

I was working Jokers the week of the Murrah bombing.

Not a great week or place to do comedy.

That was also one of my red pill moments- there were two blasts that morning, not one and I remember how there were 2 John Does until there weren’t. Both the second blast and the John Doe #2 just seemed to go down the memory hole.

Is Jokers still open? That was a great room.

Vodka, they sing the song Volare as a group in the movie Mondays in the Sun. It’s in Spanish, the singer relates a dream as the earth receded and as the moon set his dream receded. Then the verse says – and I flew and I sang and I plucked colored stars…All this is missing from the English version that totally skews the meaning of the song.

In a similar vein,
Dad had passed 20 years earlier. Mom had found a friendly gentleman, and they used to hit the senior circuit for dancing, and loved swing music. She outlasted that dude, too.
Fast forward a few years, and age and possibly genetics? start taking their toll, and here came dementia. (Her older sis succumbed to it).
Ma had a table top cassette player with an assorted collection of swing era tapes.
As she slipped from dementia into full blown Alzie’s, one of us kids would try to visit her daily in the assisted living facility, where all those poor souls were essentially on ‘lock down’ to prevent wandering off.
But when I’d visit, I’d plug in a tape of that music to try and re-fire some broken synapses of memory in her.
One day, I stopped at the caretakers desk (unsung heroes, in a good facility).
I was chatting with 3 young ladies and was telling them what I mentioned above.
I said when I play some swing music for Mom, she sits on the couch, and I try to get her to dance again, like the days she enjoyed. I said this white boy tries to move like she did, when I’d seen her with a smile and her moves.
I told the girls, “but, she doesn’t get up off the couch and join me here. She just laughs at me.”
Twenty minutes later, I’m in Mom’s room, and left the front door open.
Cued the tape, and I started dancing, but my back was to the door.
Made a spin move, turned, and saw one of the aforementioned caretaker gals standing in the doorway watching. Groan.
She says to me: “She’s right to laugh. You ain’t got any rhythm at all.” …and walked away.

Here ya go, mammy.
Missin’ ya Babe, and I hope you’re at peace wherever ya are. You earned it.

Without technology how do we prove to ourselves the earth is round? How can we prove to ourselves that the mental perceptions we get from technology is correct? We only have our five senses to verify our experience.

So with our five senses we can verify that the earth is flat by observing that the sun comes up on one side of our flat surface and goes down on the other side of it. What better proof of a flat surface than that?

What about direct knowing? Who among us really knows and can state by experience of direct observation that the earth is round. It is true that if a lie is continuously stated it becomes truth.

So be careful about debunking the obvious fact that our senses are telling us about the earth under our feet being flat.

What is really amazing is the lies that science can tell us and we believe. For example we can verify to ourselves using particles of iron that a magnet has a magnetic field and that the path this field has leaves the north pole of the magnet and enters the south pole of the magnet. Yet when it involves the earth the magnetic field path enters at the north pole and leaves the south pole. How is this explained?

Is it possible that the greater insight one has on ‘the true nature of reality’ that perceptions would be different??? for instance; everyone world wide knows water always finds its’ own level… in a swimming pool, small lake, large lake and even the Mediterranean Sea… yet for some reason not the ocean…. yet never when science explains the natural properties of water does one hear ‘except in the ocean’… funny how the navy has a newly developed ‘rail gun’ that is called ‘line of sight’ gun… it will reach 125 miles across the ocean at extremely high velocity… so if the war ship has one of these fore and aft wouldn’t you have line of sight of 250 miles??? amazing to say the least… stay with me here… since curvature by the ‘current formula’ given means that is absolutely impossible… would seem that those designing and experimentally firing this rail gun are uninformed as to the ‘current formula’… their reality is back some 500 years or more… then again it was written in a news article with pictures and video… can’t trust those… let’s trust something else – like hearsay… off point yet real ‘death is only a report card’….

I watched an hour documentary on the flat Earth theory, but it failed to make me a believer. The only really interesting tidbit was some time lapse photography on the North Star, which never moves. (If the Earth wobbles on its axis as it goes around the sun resulting in seasons, how does Polaris not move?) It also had clips from NASA that were supposed to be in space, but clearly weren’t. OK, just because NASA has forged some clips doesn’t mean the Earth is flat. Anyone got a scientific documentary that the Earth is flat, then convince me.

For all practical purposes the earth is flat. Roundness and color do not exist without an object of perception by our senses. When we observe the earth around us by our sense of sight it is mostly flat. When we drive across this country by car or truck or when we fly it appears flat. When we sail across the earth on a ship and then sail back to our point of departure the oceans are flat.

Only astro science tells us the earth is round and the universe started with a big bang. With this we have to believe by faith not fact. This is why the flat earth story carries such traction.

We humans are so gullible to suggestion. Why is it that so many believe the earth is round when all the evidence around us shows that the earth is flat?

Who out there has proof by observation that the earth is round?

It is reasonable to assume that the earth is flat because our sense of sight tells us it is so. Even our experience as we travel anywhere tells us it is so.

So what is the point of telling people to ignore their perceptions about the earth and convince them it is round? What does this change in their lives? Nothing.

The perception of roundness of the earth can be compared to an ant noticing that there are people walking around in their world. It doesn’t change anything in their world.

The majority of people do not know by observation or experience that the earth is round. They just accept that it is round because they are told it is. But really they could care less. It takes an act of intelligence from the intellect that seeks greater knowledge to make the observations necessary to confirm that the earth is round. People are more interested in looking down at their cell phones and the drivel coming out of them than to be interested in the workings of the world they live in.

So to them living in their small world it is easy to convince them that the earth is flat. Since our civilization is literally dying don’t be surprised when the schools start teaching that the earth is flat. We who are observing the decline of western thought no longer take for granted that everyone around us is intelligent.

True, T-bird. I always found it funny that people think the earth is flat when EVERY other planet in our solar system is round. We can see them, we know they are vastly different planets in terms of make-up, size and other factors, but there are idiots who think Earth must somehow be different. And then, only because it goes against prevailing scientific knowledge and wisdom.

It is generally agreed in the scientific community that the Earth spins on it’s axis at a speed of 1,000 mph. If we were to observe it from the top of the Arctic Circle it would rotate in a prograde manner (counterclockwise, or towards the east).

Let’s assume two 747 aircraft were to depart simultaneously from an airport in Quito, Ecuador (nearest major airport to the equator). One flies east, the other flies west, and both maintain an airspeed of 600 mph.

The aircraft flying west would by flying with the spin of the planet, while the plane flying east would be flying against the spin of the planet.

Please explain why the aircraft flying east wouldn’t arrive at it’s destination earlier than the plane flying west if the earth is spinning while the planes are in midair.

If you could do it in layman’s terms that someone of average intelligence could understand it would be greatly appreciated.

As you say the earth spins counterclockwise at 1000 miles per hour. I have verified the spin counterclockwise by watching the sun come up from the east while in the desert and watching the sun go down in the west while on an island in the pacific. In the desert I was standing latitude 40 looking east and on the pacific island I was standing at the Tropic of Cancer. Visualizing to myself that I was standing sideways between the north and south poles of the earth it appeared that the sun was coming round the planet towards me when observed from the east and it really appeared going around the earth away from me when observed from the west at so called sunset. I have yet to verify the speed of the rotation so will have to trust science on that.

Now the reason the aircraft flying east would arrive at it’s destination sooner than the aircraft flying west is this: The east flying aircraft would be getting a tail wind to help it and the aircraft flying west would be getting a head wind.

Again we have appearances here as far as our senses are concerned. But the intellect can intuit beyond the limitation of our senses with the help of an understanding of physics and mathematics.

Man is a creature of the earth with a body and mind created with limitation. The intellect is a creation of GOD in his image with a conscience. Religion is a creation for man in his limitation to guide his actions. The intellect when used correctly is a path back to GOD.

Everything on Earth, including the atmosphere, is tidally locked by gravity, which means it rotates with the Earth. So the only thing we see on Earth is motion relative to this rotating tableau. It’s true that this rotating motion can create winds, especially in the upper atmosphere, which will cause local effects that affect travel on Earth.

Okay, then why don’t clouds stay tidally locked by gravity and rotate with the Earth at 1,000mph?

Gravity is strong enough to keep the entire atmosphere of the planet locked into a 1:1 ratio of the Earth’s 1,000 mph spin, yet a single mote of dust is free to float upward in my study as I write this. It is so tightly locked to the Earth that the vacuum of space cannot pull it away, yet five-year-olds can fling paper airplanes across the room with ease.

What a strange and magical power this must be. So sayeth the scientiths.

Just so your haid don’t ‘spload, I am neither a believer in nor a disbeliever of Flat Earth/Globe Earth/Oblate Spheroid Earth. I am a doubter of mainstream explanations of how the physical world works as explained by dogmatic scientism in the same way that Martin Luther was skeptical of the Roman Catholic Doctrine of his day.

I have used a lot of cage rattling examples just to get the discussion going and I have also provided a great deal of evidence that points to a systemic abuse of data, information, and images in order to craft a narrative that supports otherwise unsupported claims. NASA is a prime example. They behave as much as a propaganda organization as they do a scientific one and yet they deliberately conceal, mislead or obfuscate that role in the furtherance of whatever their true ends are. Organizations like that do not deserve unquestioning belief in their claims because they have proven themselves unworthy of our trust. That does not mean that they are incapable of telling the truth or that many of their claims are indeed factual, only that one would be foolish to accept them on their face. That’s not the fault of the person who doubts the claims, it is the complete responsibility of the ones who misled the public to begin with.

Let’s be very honest about this- very few people on this planet have the intelligence to fully grasp a fraction of these concepts, never mind enough of them to create any kind of unified theory capable of understanding them on even a superficial level. Most of us, however, do possess the ability to trust in our senses and to observe the world around us and create a system that allows us to survive for seven or eight decades in a hostile environment filled with peril. That says a great deal about our sensory capacity and our instincts in using them.

When someone talks about Gravity, they really don’t have the first clue as to what it is. It is a theory, not a reality and it works in many ways that are contradictory to the premise. For example, it is stated that Gravity is a powerful force that keeps all things tied to the surface of the Earth, from the entire atmosphere that would logically float off into the vacuum of space were it not for this force, to the smallest particle. We would therefore assume that it was a universal force that affected all things equally, yet this is not the case. Take the molecule of water. H2O is bound to the surface of the planet by the force of gravity as evidenced by the seas and by the polar ice caps, but once that molecule alters into it’s gaseous state- Viola! It floats above the surface, away from the force of gravity. In order to account for this gaping hole in gravitational logic, scientists must employ another set of particulars that were heretofore meaningless when we were talking about the exact same molecule. Now gravity takes a back seat to the atmosphere in order to make sense of this observable phenomenon- the same atmoshphere that is said to be held to the surface of the Earth by the powerful force of…GRAVITY!

You can see where anyone with an IQ on the right hand side of the bell curve might raise an eyebrow at that explanation. Further, press a scientist to explain to you the precise cause of Gravity, this powerful/not so powerful force that affects all things equally/on occasion/sometimes/never depending on vacuums/atmospheres/states of matter/proximity to other masses/the number of angels dancing on the head of a pin. The look is priceless.

I’m not here to convince anyone of anything, I’m here to figure things out. If ridicule is your way of helping a neighbor out, then who am I to tell you that you are in error? I can promise you that if something can’t be explained in a manner that can be apprehended logically but is dependent upon formulas only certain people are capable of understanding, then I will almost certainly take a pass and move on to the next puzzle.

I acknowledge your inability to explain it logically.

Thank-you.

I get it.

When I was getting edumacated in Journalism at the HH Herbert School of Journalism (which HATED the Gaylords until the Gaylords donated a big wad of cash and built the Gaylord College of Journalism right there behind/beside Sooner Stadium need I say more?), I took a class in Quantitative Analysis. Yeah, Master’s Program shit, so what? You making fun of me funny man?

Anyway, the professor, a former geekazoid from CSPAN I think, assigned me to give an hour-long presentation on factor analysis. Idiot. I came in with a 15 slide presentation showing the actual two-dimensional graphic that represents the Integral Calculus and statistical analysis involved in how each factor that appears to have correlation is further analyzed to determine if the statistical value can support the causal relationship between two data points.

I showed MYSELF that a factor analysis has mathematical grounding. The professor LOATHED me. Classmates treated me like a leper.

Whatever. I set the curve in that class and all my classes. Wimpy libtard journalism professors gonna take Maggie on? Really?

I think gravity is reality not theory, but I don’t know what it is or how it works. I’ve never been satisfied with the various “theories” to explain it and the anomalies hf mentions.
