The University of Arizona social justice group FORCE is seeking feminist interns to join the resistance that seeks to “dismantle oppression” including, but certainly not limited to, “racism, classism, sexism, ableism and heterosexism.”
FORCE, which stands for Feminists Organized to Resist, Create, and Empower, is part of UA’s Women’s Resource Center. Those who get the internship will be required to attend weekly FORCE meetings, Feminist Formation meetings, and also plan events “that are relevant to as many groups as possible across campus.”
“Please treat them as friends and allies,” the listing states. Allies are limited to things like LGBTQ Affairs, Pride Alliance, and Cultural Centers. Conservative groups aren’t listed, so it’s safe to assume they see those students as enemies.

In case you were wondering, heterosexism is defined as “discrimination or prejudice against homosexuals on the assumption that heterosexuality is the normal sexual orientation.”
Previous FORCE events have included discussions surrounding topics like “Deconstructing Cisnormativity.” Interns are responsible for organizing UA’s yearly Slut Walk. And they also sit around and make crafts out of expired condoms. Who doesn’t?
As Campus Reform reports, the FORCE program is one of many that is funded by a $75 fee that all students are required to pay each semester. Students must also pay for the unpaid internship to receive credit. That can be anywhere around $3,000 for in-state students to $5,000 for out-of-state students. The report also notes that students paying for internships at colleges is now a “new trend” and that “they must enroll in a three-credit course hosted by the Women’s Studies Department as a condition of enrollment.”
Clearly, college is well worth the money.

About an hour ago I had a woman pull a line like that on me almost verbatim. She had written a check for something we had agreed upon and had cut the amount in half. I told her that wasn’t what we had shook hands on and she said “You’re making an assumption.” I held the check up and said, “No. I am stating a fact.”
She wrote a check for the proper amount with a huff and that was the end of it.
Another woman kept talking over me about something so I just shut my mouth and listened to her and she accused me of being aggressive with my silence. It’s as if they think whatever they say makes it true.
