Exactly. In a democracy it’s action would be welded shut and it will stay on the wall as pure decoration. In a constitutional republic it will be in your hands where they don’t want it, it’s action functioning flawlessly as you smite tyrannical scum with it!

I keep a scoped .22 on a simple wood 2-gun rack on the wall. For skunks, woodchucks, raccoons etc.
My wife hates it; she doesn’t like guns.
I like the sound of Orwell’s “symbol of democracy”.

Rifle on the wall is symbol of anarchy. DIY self-defense. Orwell was an avowed socialist, a democracy is socialism’s middle name. One of them.
