QUOTES OF THE DAY

“The crash has laid bare many unpleasant truths about the United States. One of the most alarming is that the finance industry has effectively captured our government—a state of affairs that more typically describes emerging markets and is at the center of many crises. If the IMF staff could speak freely about the US, it would tell us what it tells all countries in this situation: recovery will fail unless we break the financial oligarchy that is blocking essential reform.”

Simon Johnson, 2009

“What is most offensive is not their lying— one can always forgive lying— lying can be a delightful thing, for it leads to truth. What is offensive is that they lie, and worship their own lying.”

Fyodor Dostoevsky, Crime and Punishment

They have been lying about what going on to keep making money. They don’t know what a simple truth is. When you start to play their game with their rules you must lie. That is the problem. Soon enough you quit the game or you are just like them. We have become amoral ( not everyone but the majority). Truth is the great miracle it is just so hard to find now. We will pay up soon enough and it will hurt us all……. For generations. We will work in factories making cheap stuff for the rest of the world. With our currency devalued low enough so everyone will by the products of our slave labor. Slaves to the world held down by our own government as they do the bidding of whichever superpower emerges. My guess is China. Turnabout is fair play.

Any work is better than no work, and there is honor in all work.

The only dishonorable job is the one you don’t attempt to do well.
