The problem is that there is a segment of the society that will read that and think, “wow, more colleges should do that. Diversity is a good thing.”
Others of us will think, “well that’s the stupidest idea ever. What a great way to fill our universities with the illiterates that inhabit the inner cities.”
What ever happened to working hard to get good grades and go to college where you will be surrounded by the best and brightest?

Until the welfare spigot is turned off (government grants for students, federally-guaranteed student loans, government research grants for universities), the problem will NEVER end. When schools must EARN customers by delivering quality education, can only gain access to monies saved for college, and are forced by all market forces to operate efficiently, then the student will once again be restored to the position of power, and ONLY those who truly see the value in a traditional college education will attend.
