Complaint Forces High School Cheer Team to Accept All Applicants

Via Louder with Crowder

Conservatives often rant about participation trophies and lowering standards. Rewarding academic achievement is an affront to dumb kids. Lady Marines can’t do pull-ups, so pull-up tests have to go bye-bye.

This story takes all of that stuff to a new level. A girl didn’t make the cheer team at her high school. Normally, a person would go train harder, then try again next year. Or accept that cheering isn’r them. Because sometimes life isn’t fair and reality is a bitch. That was then. This is 2018. Mom squealed to the administrators at the school. Now, the cheer team has to accept anybody who tries out. I kid you not:

A New Jersey mom went to her daughter’s school and complained about her not making the cheerleading squad — so now everyone gets to make the team.

“All my hard work has been thrown out the window,” seethed cheerleader Stephanie Krueger about the ruling during a Board of Education meeting last week in East Hanover.

“I tried my hardest. Now everything is going away because of one child who did not make the team, and their parent complained.”

Instead of having tryouts and making cuts, cheer coaches at Hanover Park High School have decided to let everyone participate. The school’s athletic director said they changed the policy as a direct result of the mom’s complaint.

While we’re at it, why not make everyone captain of the football team. Then we’ll give everyone valedictorian status. Even the slacker kid who sits in the back corner and huffs Sharpies. No more winners or losers. Everybody is number one.

There are girls on the cheer team who are hard-working athletes. Working their butts off to hit their routines. Unlike some of their peers who are instead snorting condoms between nomming Tide Pods. Now these girls have to share the field with out-of-shape slackers who affirmative-actioned their way onto the team. All because “it’s not fair.”

Leftism and “inclusion” are slowly but surely murdering meritocracy. The idea of working hard and making the cut is now a major no bueno.

Here’s a prediction: the girl who complained her way onto the team is going to be mocked by everyone else (on the team and not on the team) because she’s not good enough. She’ll be hardest hit. So instead of learning a rejection lesson the easy way, she’s going to face a season’s worth of humiliation. Way to go, mom.

Some people should be forced to travel in planes piloted only by “pilots” who have spectacularly failed their tests for their pilot’s license.

Stucky, you look fantastic, really!
Lots of flavour, lots of guts, lots of panaché and much younger than I thought you were, honestly!
See you in München (oder Salzburg) old boy.
Mit freundlichen Grüssen

“Stucky, you look fantastic, really!”

Vielen Dank, Herr Johannes.

I wish I could show you a picture of me in my 9th grade Halloween costume. My parents were quite frugal … never spent a dime more than absolutely necessary. So, they didn’t want to purchase a Halloween costume — not even a cheap plastic mask. Instead, mom thought it would be great if I went as a gypsy …. GIRL. So, she outfitted me in her most attractive Dirndel! Put makeup on me, and even gave me her bra (which we stuffed with oranges). Let me tell you, I was a VERY beautiful gypsy girl!

Cheerleading is actually advanced athletics and gymnastics.

What liabilities will this school face when one of the totally physically unqualified applicants is seriously injured trying to perform the gymnastics of a cheerleader?

The girls who made the squad should resign from said squad and let those that wouldn’t have made the squad run the show. Let’s see how that works out… Chip

Absolutely the way it should be handled. Let’s see if they have the guts to do it. I know the school, and their ice-hockey team is pretty good year-in and year-out, wonder if that will change now.
How about this?: The girls who actually made the team, start their own club-cheer team, and show up at the games and cheer from the stands or off the side of the field. Great form of protest.

My daughter made the cheer team as a freshman, didn’t make it sophomore, and was pissed. She went and doubled-down on her gymnastics routines and made it Jr-Sr. years.

These kinds of attacks on meritocracy will continue with the #MeToo movement led by the diversocrats until there is a requirement for 50% female in every profession and level of leadership… Chip

They are trying this in Minneapolis (the San Fransicko of the midwest) and the State of Minnesota.

There have bee several huge software debacles in MN: the biggie was the Obummer Care website – that was a complete $150 million dollar shit show. Last year and this year it’s been the MN Vehicle Licensing System – It needs an additional $65 million, and it over a year over due.

As a software developer, I saw the three people running the show: Head of IT, Head of IT Projects, and Head of IT Infrastructure – all women – you could tell by looking at them that they never wrote a line of code, never installed an app. Someone did inquire about their IT skills – we were told it’s not necessary to know anything about IT, as long as they can ‘manage’ it.

Man am I glad I live in a place where those who might demand “inclusion” don’t know the word, much less how to spell it. Being a “backward” society has its blessings, while those in “advanced” societies appear to be increasingly cursed! The question that needs answering in order to lift these curses is just who is it that has conjured them up, and once answered, take positive action against them.

An “Atlas shrugged” action by the qualified would be a good start, even if it is somewhat passive. Direct ostracism of the whiners (never the winners) would work until the “bullying” law suits start, but even so…
