REAL LIFE SPIDER MAN

Hat tip Starfcker

He’s being hailed as a real-life Spider-Man.

Mamoudou Gassama was caught on video on Saturday climbing a building in Paris to rescue a child who was dangling from a fourth-floor balcony. As the footage above shows, it took Gassama about half a minute to reach the 4-year-old and pull him to safety.

“I did not think of the floors… I did not think of the risk,” Gassama told Le Parisien, according to a translation by Nine.com.au. “I did it because it’s a child.”

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo called the 22-year-old hero “Spider-Man of the 18th,” as the rescue happened in the city’s 18th arrondissement (district).

“He explained to me that he had arrived from Mali a few months ago, dreaming of building his life here,” Hidalgo told the Guardian. “I told him that his heroic act is an example to all citizens and that the city of Paris will obviously be very keen to support him in his efforts to settle in France.”

On Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron met with Gassama, thanked him, gave him a medal and said he would become a naturalized citizen, per the BBC.

The child’s parents weren’t home during the incident. The child’s father was held for questioning while the mother was not in Paris at the time, AFP reported.

Don’t mean to sound like a shithead but fact is, when I was 25 I could do that and did do that kind of patio climbing after drinking a six pack. No great shakes. I wasn’t called hero. I was called a fool.

I’m more surprised that a 4 year old had the grip to hang off that balcony until help arrived.

It was kind of fake as someone was on the next balcony holding the child.

Please, be serious.

One think is to tackle illegal immigration, to limit people inflow to keep one’s culture from being overtaken, local labor from being devalued, or to veto undesirable people. That is the very right of every Nation on Earth. There is no “human right” to be accepted in any western country.

Another one is to think that all people from other places are bad people (all Iranians are killer, all Mexican are drug dealers). Whoever has traveled would know that even in the worst sh***holes, probably 90% of the people is good people. Sometimes social pressure makes them unfriendly, but they are good people anyway.

It is fun seeing people in this forum going ape s*** crazy because a black immigrant from Mali did good. There must bu something wrong. It is a fake. Nothing special, I did the same think while drunk when I was a 22… No way immigrants can be good people!!

It isn’t the good immigrants that are at issue, it’s the huge number of bad ones that come along with them.

And the bad ones outnumber the good ones in the illegal and migrating immigrant flood, the good ones stay at home and obey the immigration laws of both their own and other peoples countries if they want to go elsewhere.

I wish some reporter or other interviewer would visit those migrating crowds in places like Calais and the Mexican border towns where the Central American and other international migrants are congregating while trying to breech borders and ask them exactly why they are migrating, how they intend to support themselves, and specifically what they intend to contribute to the countries they are trying to invade. The answers might be interesting.

Why can’t it just be what it looks like? A good man risking his life to save a child. Who cares where he’s from or what color his skin is? Are we that cynical?

He did a good thingy. That would get cheers in any country anytime. As to going to some sort of front of the line to be a citizen, that smacks of liberal socialist globalist politics which is a different issue that still doesn’t take away from yes heroic action.

The migrant horde thingy is cultural invasion. The globalist progressive socialist mantra Holy Grails of inclusiveness and diversity are finely tuned instruments of cultural and tribal disintegration. While no one today thinks anyone should be excluded just because they identify as or appear to be a member of part of a “group” of people, people of different cultures who migrate and don’t respect or play by the rules of another culture are invading that culture. The basic force at work is that as top predators humans both co-operate and compete with each other for survival (think wolf packs with territory but more civilized and evolved). Culture , language, national borders , laws, customs, values, high meta beliefs etc are some of the ways people co-operate in this game of survival while they are also competing for their share. Cultural invasion where the new-comers don’t play by the rules of that culture aren’t co-operating, they are just competing. I suspect the globalist who are also bent on the destruction of borders/nations fund progressive liberals who use “inclusiveness and diversity is good good good” propaganda in our faces every day to blind us to it’s destructive side (think Steven Colbert , other media, national politics) . They never mention cultural assimilation, let alone the cultural destruction, only acceptance of other than cultures (and never mention those different rules they play by).

I regret I was unable to give you only one “thumbs-up”. Your most insightful message was very well articulated.

Thank you very much!

Excellent and well articulated post.

The point is that of cultural invasion and competition.

So it is sad when one see the trap of saying that foreign people is bad people. It is a losing argument, because just one film like this one discredits all, and with good reason.

They are good people. Just not asimilable with the western culture (I do believe that post Enlightenment western culture has been the most successful, open and humane in history). And we have no obligation to assimilate them (not moral, not nothing). As Saudi Arabians don’t have any obligation to assimilate a Christian community.

That is the discussion, not if they are good or bad people (they are mostly good people)

Tampa, he lived directly across the street from a buddy of mine. Spent tons and tons and tons of money on his house, fixing it up like it was in Beverly Hills or something. Surveillance gear, Landscaping fountains, and the neighborhood they were in, sort of semi working class Dade County, it was way out of balance.
