Surely last week this foundering nation finally reached Peak Social Justice Warrior Bullshit with The New York Times hiring of genocide-for-white-people advocate Sarah Leong, 30, as an op-ed writer on tech matters. Apparently, one angle of the tech world Sarah Leong overlooked was the mile-wide Twitter trail of messages she left over the past ten years declaring that white people should be “canceled out,” “made to live underground like groveling goblins,” or this pungent one from the Reinhard Heydrich playbook: “Oh man it’s kind of sick how much joy I get out of being cruel to old white men.”
When this big glob of shit hit the Internet fan, The Times’s HR department cranked out the pathetically lame explanation that Ms. Leong was merely “mirroring” or “counter-trolling” malicious tweets she had received over the years, “imitating the rhetoric of her harassers.” That left the old newspaper and its readers gratified for a day or too… until a whole new bale of Sarah Leong tweets was discovered dissing The New York Times and virtually all of its other op-ed writers in the most opprobrious terms.
She wrote: “After a bad day, some people come home and kick the furniture. I get on the Internet and make fun of The New York Times.” “I don’t feel safe in a country that is led by someone who takes Thomas Friedman seriously.” “Hannah Rosin shatters ceiling by proving women writers can be as hackish as Tom Friedman, too.” “[David] Brooks is an absolute nitwit tho.” “Notajoke: I’m being forced to read Nicholas Kristof. This is the worst.” “if I had a bajillion dollars, I’d buy the New York Times, just for the pleasure of firing Tom Friedman….”
So far, The Times hasn’t even deigned to respond to this sticky discovery. Good luck with your new colleagues, Sarah! And enjoy your new desk next to the furnace in the second sub-basement of 620 Eighth Avenue! Also notajoke: my own assessment of The New York Times op-ed writers is probably more unfavorable than Ms. Leong’s, but I haven’t been applying for any jobs there.
This is what comes of sending a young person to Berkeley and Harvard these days, where they are given super-extra brownie points for dumping on white people, and men especially. The insane diktats of the faculty get funneled from the ivory tower straight into “Newspaper of Record,” and so it is on record now that nobody can trust The New York Times to analyze world and national affairs in good faith, in particular on matters of race and gender. The paper’s old epigraph, “All the News That’s Fit to Print,” has changed to “Anything Goes and Nothing Matters.”
President Trump was in error when he stated recently that “the media is [are] the enemy of the people.” Not quite so. They are the enemy of the truth, and their handling of the Sarah Jeong fiasco proves it. In the spirit of the day, the story will probably disappear from the American hive-mind after this week, because that’s how we roll now in a country where the Grand Inquisitors are not held responsible for their turpitudes.
But if the Jeong affair does represent Peak SJW BS, the hubris of The Times in this embarrassing decision may presage its extinction. It will be interesting to see what the company’s next move will be. For the moment, it looks like they have no next move, except to pretend that the Sarah Jeong episode doesn’t matter.
The news situation in the USA is pretty dire. The Internet has killed off the old print media, sure enough, but it has also killed off the principles of institutional authority in reporting the events of our time — which is to say, the grounds to believe what you read and see. It’s especially bad at the local level where every small-town newspaper has been driven into the ground and we learn almost nothing about what is going on in the places where we live, where daily doings actually affect our lives most.
Sure would like to hear that some old guy instead of holding the door for her, let it slam into her face.

THAT is SO TRUE–I just canceled my small town rag I’ve had delivered here for 25 years. The above is EXACTLY why.
And they had to ask me why I was cancelling. Really?
Our local is owned by Gannett and it is a garbage rag. It is so bad it’s laughable. They stand outside the supermarkets and beg for subscriptions.
Our state newspaper has about 170,000 subscribers in a state with about 4 million people. It is so bad that they send emails offering 98% off regular subscription rates. They don’t seem to realize that most of us wouldn’t even line our birdcages with their paper even if it was free. The sad part is that 15 to 20 years ago it was a fairly decent paper. The depths to which we have fallen is stupendous.
Our local paper, the Ashland Daily Independent, also known as the Ashland Daily Liar, is owned by the Gannetts. Their subscription rates had been languishing for years, and when the paper endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016, the die was cast. Subscriptions have since plummeted and they are advising that the paper is up for sale. It will soon be gone, and good riddance.
I hope some proto-human gives her a stiff black cock.

Isnt it interesting how stories “disappear from the hive mind” as JHK puts it? Is this property of our culture worse now than it was 20 years ago? Or is it just a side effect of there simply being more stories?
I lived in Johnson City, TN for 11 years (98-09). The “local” paper was owned by a company from Northern Ohio. The people their mostly very conservative. The paper, of course, very liberal.
Let us keep our voices down and let these folks hang themselves!Just don’t buy these papers/use twaddle/fecesbook/gaggle ect. and use alts that allow freedom of speech/ideas ect.,and,perhaps,actual debate of opposing ideas(I know,that tis going too far!).

I believe we’re in the final months of MSM. It is going to get real crazy, real mean, and you haven’t seen anything yet. Most people don’t know that the courts gave Trump the go ahead to officially begin the court process of no jury, guilty until proven innocent, Military Tribunals for enemy combatants on January 1, 2019. It has also been announced that Gitmo, originally built to handle 900 prisoners, has been expanded to handle 13,000 prisoners. The one and only thing I’m paying attention to is the number of sealed Federal Indictments. At this time of the year, based on prior averages, there should be around 825 sealed indictments but the current number stands at around 45,468 sealed indictments. There were originally 90 Federal District Prosecutors, and it was announced back in June that 300 more are to be hired, to probably handle the impending court load. If there is going to be a Purge, Trump has around 5 months to destroy the MSM and I bet they know it. If the MSM is destroyed no one will give a damn when the Killer Bitch, Bathhouse Barry, Et. al, are arrested and rounded up. I believe soon that we will learn everything about Operation Mockingbird, for how long it’s been going on, and the names of all of the companies and “reporters” who have been on the payment list, and the people they have been ordered to destroy. How and when this will come out I have no idea, but will probably have to do with more FISA illuminations as files are “declassified”. Once this process is complete, no one in the MSM, CIA, FBI, and Justice Department will be able to walk the street without being accosted.
Uh, Clinker, how do you know those 45k indictments are for swamp critters, and not for you, me and all the other rabble rousers in the late, great USA? When Q states they have it all, why would that not mean our identities, phone numbers, addresses and bank accounts? And records of all the nasty things we have been saying about them?
I really don’t pay much attention to this Q business, for there is little proof and it’s not worth speculating about. All I know is there are over 45,000 indictments, and they have accumulated nonstop since October 2017. The Government has everything on everyone and that is no secret, and has for over a decade. I do know that prior to the indictments, everything was fairly “normal business” as usual with the typical background Democrat activity, and once the indictments took off, the carping and bitching started in earnest from the people who had run everything for God knows how long indicating they probably don’t control it much anymore. You’ve got 2 sets of people- The Federal State establishment and Donald Trump, and they ain’t in the same group. Regardless of what you or I do, there is a war between those two sets and one of them will be destroyed, and one will emerge the winner. We peons aren’t going to figure much in this fight. Another point- who is ALWAYS talking about regulating the guns that we peons own? It sure isn’t Donald Trump, it’s the Federal State establishment who without fail always demand gun control.
I should not have mentioned Q in my query to you. Leaving that consideration out, I repeat the questions. You are right that there is a war going on, but it is not clear who is battling whom, and who is being currently indicted. It is true that we are peons, but we are peons who speak out. Hillary hates us passionately. If she is in charge of taking names, you and I might not qualify for a penthouse suite at Gitmo, but a modest efficiency apartment at a FEMA camp near you might be arranged. That’s why I use the name my parents gave me. I will be easy to find, and I can beat the rush, so to speak, before the camp gets all crowded with deplorables.

What is scary? That the indictments might be for us, or we might have to be cheek to jowl with deplorables? ?
Ms. Yeong is a pawn. Who cares what she thinks about ‘old white men’. Her hiring and the underlying support of people like her (and James Gunn, e.g.) and the defenestration of select others for the exact same behavior (Roseanne Barr) by the Establishment is simply the raising of the battle flags.
The bigger picture is the collective behavior driving these moves. Something huge is happening under the surface; Alex Jones disappearing in a coordinated purge by SocMed, the uptick in Trump’s abuse of the MSM and their histrionic reaction. This is moving from the extraordinary popular delusion cycle and right into madness of the crowd territory. Once this hits critical mass no amount of good will and previous connections to one another will make the slightest difference.
Maybe people will just simply get pissed off and close their social media accounts, they lived just fine before this mindless junk came along. It has only served to divide a strong country and turn what used to be somewhat rational people into mush brains.

Thomas Wictor’s theory is that her appointment to the NYT and the recent outburst by that refugee woman on the Statue of Liberty is a last ditch attempt to provoke ‘white’ rage and ignite a civil war.
