Thousands—the number keeps changing—of Hondurans, et al, have marched into Mexico intending to enter the US as refugees with their national flags at the fore. Mexico attempted to stop them by handing out 45-day visitor permits and providing police protection. Material assistance is coming from locals, the International Red Cross and other NGOs. Cash handouts have been recorded on video. The Spoor of Soros hangs heavy in the air.
Compared to the tens of millions of illegal squatters already here, a few thousand more is trivial. But this march looks too much like the invasion it’s always been. Perhaps we’re to believe it was mere chance several thousand people decided, on the same day, to walk from Central America to the US border. Or we could believe the ‘caravan’ was created and coached to influence the mid-term elections.
It’s a gamble. Those who organized and support this invasion army have created a very visible clog in an otherwise permeable membrane. If they get the optics they’re trying for, real action to control the border may rise to the top of the list. Hah! I can’t believe I said that.
For the record, on Wednesday the 17th, DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said,
For those attempting to illegally enter as part of any ‘caravan’, please know we will enforce our border security laws and that the United States will use every available measure to prevent your illegal entry
Yeah right. We’re entertained, are we not? How shall they parse this? What “available measure” shall we believe Ms Nielsen is considering other than more of the same spineless capitulation and weasel words and promises? Lethal force? Batons and tear gas? Fat chance. As always, it’ll be resettlement with all expenses paid and apologies for any inconvenience.
When DC fails to turn them back it will make an irrefutable fact obvious to all: DC won’t protect the border, hasn’t protected the border, and never will protect the border, which is criminal dereliction if not purposeful betrayal*. This is not a victimless crime. Decades of mass infiltration have created another set of refugees, namely, displaced legal residents of the, formerly our, southwestern states. Because that’s what invasions do.
The media is already sentimentalizing this ‘caravan’—the word they’re looking for is ‘army’—as pitiable victims whose hope for a better life is about to be crushed by heartless guys in uniform. But that’s the whole point, Sparky. Car thieves just want a better life too.
Enough theatre. DC should either step up and do the job or step aside for those who will. A five thousand-strong column of self-supplied volunteers could be assembled in an afternoon and as many more as is needed thereafter. Swear them in, slink away and be amazed.
As for the “refugees”, they’re mostly military age men 
, fit and well fed. They found their way here, they can find their way back. The families they left behind need them. We don’t.

Trump should have the US military cross into Mexico and repel them there. That way the fucked up US asylum laws could be ignored. We routinely cross into places like Pakistan. It’s not like we haven’t invaded Mexico before. Of course, before we send in troops we should try to stop the “caravan” by bombing any relevant northbound roads and/or bridges. Give Mexico 12 hours’ notice, first.

Refugee or asylum status should be considered by the neighboring country, mexico. Or america should do exactly what mexico is doing and help them keep walking to canada! Disable all invading trucks. Escape. After all, they’re well armed, trained, organized, and look like authority, which is usually worshiped by the mex speaking population.
There are perhaps a dozen N/S roads at the Durango latitude. Caravans stopped on all of them would shut down northbound NAFTA traffic, incidentally cause a local tire shortage, and perhaps actually get a local political response other than “manana”. Shutting down southbound traffic too would be a big bonus – delay. No need for any murder or over the top destruction. Then let nature take its course.

To claim the US doesn’t have the ‘facilities’ to process this grotesque invasion is absurd. The Supreme Court has already ruled Trump can deny admission to people from countries that he has determined pose a danger to national security. I said this a few days ago. No one, including the migrants/invaders in the caravan, questions the capability of America to stop the invasion. Everyone, including me, is questioning whether we have the will to use the capability to defend our country from invasion.

Hopefully it doesn’t come to this, but the response to Jerry Rivers/Geraldo Rivera’s challenge ‘What are you going to do, shoot them?’ is “Yes, if it comes to that. If America’s military does not defend our borders from invasion, the whole thing, every single bit of it, should be immediately disbanded as a waste. And if the government does not use its monopoly on the use of force to defend the country from invasion, it has relinquished that monopoly along with any legitimacy. And any and every person can and should pick it up.

Perhaps half of us here would know how to to set up a roadblock / checkpoint. And a judicious application of tire spike strips, or Rule 7.62 to just the drivers side tires … well, that would put them back “on the march” and extend their trip to probably 100 days and cause a tire shortage south of the border. And reward the Mexicans with the same type of cultural enrichment they’re sending us.
Back in the day our Sheriff stopped a car with an armed kidnapper and hostage on a bridge. The Department had three M-16s with the Atchisson .22LR conversion kits. The tires were sprayed with .22s and the Captain pumped the radiator and engine compartment full of 00 Buck as it passed. This can definitely be done on the cheap with little fuss and a couple of guys if we need to get proactive south of the border. You maybe right. Remembering my days in the military there is nothing quite as intimidating as a fighter bomber making a low level pass over you… even if its a friendly jet.
If we can channelize their column on a bridge on or near our border ( as the Mexicans had them a few days ago) sending some USAF F-16’s on very low ground attack simulation missions and releasing just anti SAM flares could cause a panic and a stampede.
There was an incident like this in Iraq. A throng of Shia pilgrims were on a bridge when a suicide bomber went off. He wasn’t the primary problem though. It was the stampede he set off. Well over 1000 people were trampled to death!
I have been only a few hundred feet under an F-15 standing on its tail on full afterburner. Just doing that over a bridge a couple of times would be the closest thing to shell shock without artillery being involved.

Much as I don’t like the caravan, I can’t think of employing a stampede, not with the kids being there, not choice of their own. They’re more likely to get trampled. I’d rather fence them all in and send them back Honduras.

Trump is either in on this “deal” or he’s allowing it to happen. How could it be otherwise?
It will secure a red wave on November 6th, or, in the event of military engagement playing out on national TV on the southern border, it could be a last minute game changer for the Dems.

I believe what I stated came out of one of Chinn’s books- he wrote a comprehensive report for the U.S. Government about most of the machine guns ever made that once declassified made for several volumes of books just about machine guns. Since this is an Invasion and the police and border patrol should NOT be involved. The invaders should be engaged between 100 and 200 miles south of the border. To hell with what the Mexican government thinks they had their shot and blew it. 50,000 troops meet the invaders and the invaders decide what they are going to do. if they continue to advance they will be fired upon. Apaches should take out all support vehicles and equipment. If they are stupid enough to meet them at the border they are still in military custody. So the invaders can be treated as enemy combatants and kept in internment camps until they are processed and shipped home. The Sheriff Arpio method of housing them should be used tents and cots. Food baloney sandwiches three times a day. The invaders are housed by country. If their home country refuses then the marines establish a beachhead and the invaders are dumped on the beaches. Or the 101 establishes a landing zone and they are let out there. Any costs will be taken out of any money sent to the home country by any means governmental or private
It is time to pass a law criminalizing crossing the border illegally with some teath in it. Make it a felony for a non resident to cross the border without proper authorization. Make the penalty 5 years in a work camp, and make the work camps along the Arizona / Texas border. Force convicts to build the wall. Make them live in tents, eat beans, rice, and water. Make them wear pink prison garb.
I guarentee the problem will cease to be a problem in months.

Who would, or even could, do what about a country defending its borders from an invading force, even if unarmed?
If Mexico bitches too much, say they should’ve defended their border at the bridge. And if Honduras bitches too much, I would deploy a pair of B52s flying at a 90 degree angle to each other loaded with a mix of HE and Napalm and, just like we did just before the fire bombing of Tokyo, during daylight burn a giant X across their capital city of Tegucigalpa, and tell them if there is another attempt to invade us, they really, really won’t like what hits the center of that X next.
This is caused by their belief in our failure of will. The appropriate response is an overwhelming demonstration of will. First, Pres Trump needs to issue an EO placing a moratorium on asylum applications until future notice. Because making application for asylum is the loophole these fucks use to get a court date, then beat it to where ever never to be seen again. Regardless of what people want to call it this is an invasion. The Federal Government directed by the U.S. Constitution has the duty to defend our country from invasion. It doesn’t require congress; by an act, to dispatch the military. The Commander-in-Chief can do that.
If the news I am seeing on television and hearing on the radio is correct then we are in the process of being invaded. One would say 7000 or 14000 but the point is if these invaders get through then expect 100s of thousands more to follow them. Where else in the world where one can go from poverty to welfare? This is serious stuff with serious consequences. So many ignorant people in this country come to erroneous conclusions based on their faith in their feelings which is weakness. In all history an invasion is an invasion; and invasions have always changed the culture they invaded. In this case it will use up our resources when we are dealing with increasing amounts of homeless in our own country; not to mention many social problems. Looking at the problem from a more expansive way we as the most advanced country in our hemisphere we need to take more responsibility for the welfare of our hemisphere. Then these problems we now face would not have reason to manifest.
The military needs to be there when this invasion shows up. It is the duty of the federal government authorized by the Constitution to protect the country from invasion. It is not a matter of Administrative Law to decide. This is a constitutional matter.

Speaking of armies, though, the Bonus Army descended on D.C. in 1932. They were WWI veterans who had been promised a cash reward for their service- payable in 1945! But being broke and hungry, they walked, hitchhiked and rode the rails to demand it now. They were met by solders wearing the same uniforms, the same puttees, the same flat helmets they had worn in 1917- sitting in trucks behind machine guns on tripods.
