NC State Rolls Out PhD In “Social Justice Education”

Authored by Adam Sabes via Campus Reform,

North Carolina State University announced a Ph.D. in social justice education on Monday.

The program, which will debut in fall 2019, aims to teach educators, or “scholar-activists,” about social justice and how they can bring about change in the classroom setting, according to an NC State news release.

“The goal of the program is to help educators recognize and disrupt systems of oppression by helping to foster and create equitable learning environments,” Jessica DeCuir-Gunby, a professor of educational psychology and director of graduate programs for the Teacher Education and Learning Sciences Department, said in the news release.

Faculty will come from various research areas, such as “social justice teacher education, multicultural education and literacy, education and immigration and diversity and equity in schools and communities,” according to the Ph.D. program’s webpage. The program also claimed it would focus on “equity in STEM” and “scholar activism.”

“This program area of study promotes social diversity while naming, interrogating and challenging oppression, exploitation and marginalization within education at the local, state, national and international levels,” the website states.

Courses that are required to attain the Ph.D. in social justice education include “Social Justice in Education,” “Diversity & Equity Scholar Leader Course,” and more.

NCSU College Republicans chairman Kye Laughter told Campus Reform he views this new Ph.D. program as a way to push social justice on future students.

“I think any person pursuing a degree or a Ph.D. in social justice already has an agenda in mind and this field will only allow bias to grow not only among those in academia but for those being taught this dangerous ideology,” Laughter said.

The chairman also suggested that the program shows that the university has a double standard, contending that a Ph.D. in a conservative thought field would never be created.

“Our university should not be afraid of discussing different ideas, but I am doubtful we will see any Ph.D. programs in conservative ideologies anytime soon, as academia has been infested with liberalism,” Laughter said, while noting that the university excels in fields like agriculture, engineering, and architecture.

I’m sure that prospective employers will be lined up all the way down the street to hire someone with a degree in ‘Social Justice.’

NOT!

When the government eventually goes belly-up, and these losers need to get REAL jobs, they are going to be asked what their degree is in, or they will list it on their resume. No sane person would ever hire them. It would be like putting “union organizer” on a resume for a manufacturing job in a non-union shop. Who needs this kind of person in their employ (especially when the government can no longer enforce their bullshit labor rules)? Of course an ever better hope is that they will all simply die of exposure and hunger in the streets while the productive in society step over their rotting carcasses on the way to useful employment.

As we drift into the Endarkenment, and Re-Feudalism descends upon us, there will be plenty of plantations, perhaps at our current Collective (BigAgra) Farms idled by a capital or petroleum crisis.

As little as 15 years ago, NCSU was a top notch agriculture, engineering, veterinary and textile school; sort of the pragmatic “get shit done” mirror of the fancy pants liberal arts school over in Chapel Hill. NCSU is still a good school for those trades, but like most universities got infected with the pussy hat disease from the top down.

The next fundamental step is PC ruination of the schools specializing in science, technology, engineering, and math. There’s nothing this ideological scourge won’t claim and it’s already infesting private military colleges. I give props to The Citadel for denying the Muslim garbage from Florida, it was the proper thing to do even as Norwich University accepted her. Her father, as some might know, was one of Sheriff Israel’s Broward Cowards.
My family hails from the Midwest. As a kid, I could’ve thrown a rock over the Wabash and hit Purdue. As an adult, sometimes I wish I had.

Another oxymoron disguised as a course?
If it’s social, it ain’t justice. If it’s justice, it ain’t sociable.
The article is not worthy of this quote, but:

“I sometimes fantasize the ideal modern cirriculum, which would capture explicitly the philosophy of the modern university. And recently I found one. I found three different courses found at three different schools, one covering each basic branch of philosophy, the sum indicating the naked essence of the modern trend.

For Metaphysics, we go to the University of Delaware, in Newark, for an interdisciplinary honors course entitled Nothing. The subtitle: a study of nil, void, vacuum, null, zero and other kinds of nothingness. The description “A lecture course exploring the varieties of nothingness, from the vacuum and void of physics and astronomy to the political nihilism to the emptiness of the arts and the soul.” That’s our view of reality. Nothing.

For Epistemology we move to NYU, to a course titled Theory of Knowledge, the description “Various theories of knowledge are discussed, including the view that they are all inadequate, and that in fact nobody knows anything. The consequences of skepticism are explored for thought, action, language and emotional relations.”

We end up for Ethics at Indiana with a course entitled Social Reactions to Handicap, the description of which reads in part “This course will explore some of the different ways in which the handicapped individual, and the idea of handicap have been regarded in western civilization. Figures from the past such as the fool, the madman, the blind beggar, and the witch will be discussed.

There was once a time when college students studied facts, knowledge and human greatness. Now they study nothingness, ignorance, and the fool, the madman, the blind beggar, and the witch. If the philosophic message taught by our colleges are clear to you, the political views of the faculty require very little discussion. Politics is the last consequence of philosophy. “

…and you’ll notice the first casualties of these SJW faculty “intellectuals” dictating curriculum will be Western humanities, classical Greek reason and thought, European history up to and including the Renaissance, and any reference to early offensive Islamic military expansionism against the Christian nations states.
The hit parade on real education has been ongoing for years and it’s up to parents to avoid or undo the damage done to their kids at the academic level. I’ve sent mine to private military schools, but the ideological poison has even intruded there.
