Thoughts On GrifterCon

Guest Post by The Zman

One of the toughest problems for dissident political movements to navigate is the army of grfters and subversives that are always on the prowl for easy targets. The Tea Party movement is a great example. The people who initially got involved did so for all the right reasons. They were nice, white middle-class people upset about what they saw happening in Washington. It was the sort of spontaneous civic nationalism that many white people still cling to as a solution to our present woes. It’s the good sort of populism.

The trouble is, the movement was quickly swarmed by an army of grifters and opportunists, along with the body-men of the establishment,. These people showed up offering help, organization and in some cases, a famous name to add credibility. Before long the whole thing became a bust-out, with the grifters carrying off what they could, before it collapsed in a heap.  The caravan of hustlers has now moved onto peddling neo-libertarianism as the antidote to both populism and identity politics.

Of course, something similar has happened to the Trump phenomenon. This story in Politico about various clowns and freaks in the MAGA movement is emblematic of what has become of Trumpism. Ali Alexander, one of the organizers, appears to be the spawn of Sammy Davis Jr. and an Easter Island statue. Judging from his postings, he takes a lot of drugs or suffers from psychotic episodes. The Tea Party, at least, drew a decent class of grifter. Trump’s baggage train is just freaks and lunatics.

In fairness to Trump and the millions of people who voted for him and still support him, they can’t do much about these freak shows. The media loves to promote old weirdos like Roger Stone, because it makes Trump look bad. He provides easy copy and he is willing to be their Sambo, dancing at the end of whatever string they offer. People like Loomer, Molyneux and Cernovich show up because they sniff a few dollars. They are performers and they go where they can find an audience willing to pay them to perform.

The fact that the place was empty suggests politically active whites are staring to wise up to this stuff. Last year’s C-PAC also experienced a drop in attendance. Maybe people are starting to figure out that these events are just a way to keep them busy while their pockets are picked. Maybe white people are rethinking their politics. The utter disappointment of the Trump presidency thus far has probably been the worst thing to happen to this sort of political racketeering. It’s smartened up the chumps.

Still, there is a pattern here. The Reagan years birthed Conservative Inc., which hoovered tens of millions out of the pockets of middle-class white people into various projects that never accomplished a thing. The Contract With America institutionalize the system into a permanent political-industrial complex. The Tea Party, of course, was a complete bust and now Trumpism is becoming an embarrassing freak show. Any resistance is either co-opted or turned into something embarrassing.

The thing that all of these failed movements have in common is they accepted the premise of liberal democracy. From Reagan to Trump, all efforts to reform or challenge the system did so within the context of liberal democracy. They also assumed that the fight must take place on the platforms of the Progressive media. Inevitably, the media picks the most embarrassing members of the alternative to come up on stage. This happened with Reagan, Gingrich and even Bush. We see the same thing happening in the Trump era.

This suggests two rules for dissident politics. One is a variation of the oldest bit of political advice. Never been seen with crazy people or wearing funny hats. Professional pols have people who make sure they are never in the same shot as a crank or weirdo. Smart pols also avoid putting themselves in situation where they can look silly, like driving a tank wearing an over-sized helmet or getting goosed by a farm animal. For dissidents, it means staying clear of attention whores and people with heads full of nutty ideas.

More important, it means staying as far away from Progressive media as possible. This has been a topic for a long time on the Dissident Right, but the side in favor of engagement has always won. Their argument was that it was the best way to get the attention of the public. Today, that’s not the case. Mass media is the worst way to get the attention of the public, because it is all click-bait, agit-prop and tabloid nonsense. The fragmentation also means a much lower ROI. There are better ways to get the public’s attention.

Maybe that’s a bit of white pill to take away from the failure of GrifterCon to attract much of audience this weekend. Maybe people now associate being in the news with being mentally unstable or being an unreliable degenerate. While a story about Roger Stone may get eyeballs on a news site, the people viewing it do so for the same reason people look at pictures of a snake trying to swallow a goat. The freak show has reached a point where it is self-discrediting. That would be a great development for dissidents if true.

“In fairness to Trump and the millions of people who voted for him and still support him”

There is no “being fair” or “reasoning” with folks who are still with Trump at this point. Many are dangerously deluded and wrapped so tight, you don’t want to be anywhere near them when their heads finally explode- and they realize they voted for a cardboard cutout of what they really wanted.

Communist terrorists (CT’s) are less to be feared than Trumptards who finally go ballistic when their Orange Jesus Fraud exits the Oral Orifice and is replaced by the next political Jesus.

Don’t even get me started on the GODDAMN CLOWNS who believed the “Tea Party Bowel-Movement” was going to add up to a hill of beans.

Would you really wanna go to a protest or go on a recon mission with someone who was preaching Tea Party hymns in 2012 and Trump gospel in 2016? Not me!

Please tell Mr. Small Caliber then what we should be doing? You have shat upon every effort that has been made in the last 20 years or so to slow down or reverse the decline of the USA into Statist Feudalism overseen by a Globalist elite. So while I did my best as a tea partier and “Trumptard” WTF have you done beside offer insult and bromides?

Here is your answer Martel – stop participating! It is truly the only way to get out of the shit show. It is too far gone now. ANY kind of open dissidence just exposes you to the media circus, and will just get you co-opted by these charlatans.
The only way to defeat those that are “in charge” is to not be dependent on their system. And make no mistake, it is THEIR system.
If buying from Amazon will make you pay sales tax, or well, support Amazon, then purchase from another retailer that does not charge sales tax (supporting government) and is not supporting Bezos.
Get out of debt, then you are no longer supporting banksters. Only work to the point where you cover all of your bills / expenses, and then NOT ONE HOUR MORE. Spend it with family, relax, enjoy people. Remember, the more you make, the more they tax you. Unless you are one of one of the chosen ones (1%) that can pay teams of accountants for tax dodges, you will lose anyway. BTW, they keep telling us just to work harder, better faster. At real inflation running north of 7% a year, and wages stagnate, while fees and taxes are going up and deficits / money printing, you CANNOT outrun the politicians pen. Don’t even try, simply pay off what you have, live well on your own terms and let them eat cake.
Stay healthy. Don’t eat the garbage that passes for food now, and get exercise. That is the ONLY “health plan” that is not a cartel controlled scam. If you do need care, find a good local CASH ONLY doctor that does not subscribe to the scam. Doctors are not cheap, but the docs that are not accepting anything from the “system” are actually focusing on their patients, and not trying to make the cartel happy, while blindly believing if he just sees “one more patient an hour” he will reach Porsche nirvana. There are many good doctors and facilities that have seen the light, and are doing things the right way – See Oklahoma Surgery Center for an example.
Many other ways to check out of their system – legally. Just educate yourself, and spread the word. Remember “the system” runs on your work, and energy. They use YOU as collateral. That is the whole purpose of the MSM – to make you believe the world is a certain way so you will be “productive” for them. If you no longer allow them to use your labor for their “investments” then they lose their power over you. Enough people do it, and suddenly their whole “system” collapses in a heap. Think about it.

I agree.
The best way for angry non-violent”normals” to react to an ideologically/ financially co-opted system incapable of correcting itself is to remove their active participation and monetary support. When reasonable people get fed up and leave, it leaves the grifters in a swiftly deteriorating situation where liars and thieves have to move on to the next opportunity. Once enough people get wise, at some point the system will eventually fold.

MAH, Well said and I agree completely. Opt out. Opt out of all the systems that have been put into place to milk, butcher and shear the livestock that is us. You don’t have to go off grid and grow your own food, but it’s not a bad idea. Everybody really should be working at becoming debt free.

It’s not like I haven’t made mistakes and been fooled before, but any “movement” or organization that has grown to more than a handful of people has been infiltrated and made into a joke since at least the 1950s, and probably earlier than that.

I had some really cool adults clue me in to this while I was still a teen. I was able to start and live my adult life knowing it upfront. Learning some things about military intelligence and law enforcement helped cement the idea.

Hammer….he carries a .22 mouth to shoot the wounded on the internet. I went to TEA Party rallies and met and got to know some Vets who killed more men (in different wars) then .22 ever fought with his hands. Rock solid bad ass Americans.

Every once in while .22 likes to vomit out some general disdain and undeserved insults on others who have fought the good fight…and will again.

Go piss up a rope .22.

100 out of 100 combat units see weeks or months in the bush, routine danger, regular training accidents, and a hard life.

I was shot at twice and took several HARD hits from artillery rounds. Training accidents, so nobody to shoot back at and no glory.

What someone did in the military 30 years ago MATTERS NOT ONE WHIT if they are a delusional politician bootlicker today.

I won’t stand next to fossils who have let themselves become irrelevant and take pats on the back for my past service or theirs.

Bang a gong .22 mealy mouth, lets get it on.

Oh, whats the matter, can dish out constants insults…but now a little defensive? You never did answer Martel Hammer’s question?

WTF have you done beside offer insult and bromides?

So let me repeat it… WTF have you done beside offer insult and bromides?

I told you in another post I was sick and tired of reading your broad wise ass blather mouth insults degrading the TEA Party and went into great length explaining how it stepped into the gap and helped hold Obama’s radical transformation back…who was in it, what they accomplished…what many suffered and were subjected to by the IRS, but you didn’t want to debate you just wanted to spit out cheap insults.

I baited you with that line because I wanted a fucking answer back this time. Last time I called you out on the TEA Party slurs you were silent.

When an asshole like you paints millions of people with an insulting broad brush they need to called out.

What makes you think guys like me want to stand next to the likes of mealy mouths like you?

Respect is a two way street and your just a mouthy punk.

What many can’t seem to wrap their heads around, like .22, about the Tea Party is the vast majority of Americans in that movement that sprang up almost overnight, saw the reality of the Trojan horse the idiots had elected and when Obamacare was shoved down their throats said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The Tea Party’s decentralized formation was its strength but as far as it becoming a permanent political movement that decentralization was also its weakness.

This decentralization means that each individual “group” within the Tea Party had incredible autonomy. Each group did its own thing. Each group has its own focus — its own mission statement — that could be a federal election, a local school board battle or packing the local G.O.P. county party with precinct chairs to replace the RINO’s and give them a frigg’in spine for a change. That means the Republican establishment and the Democrats couldn’t measure the Tea Party’s success and power because they couldn’t track it as a unified caucus, because it never was a unified caucus!

That decentralization was also the Tea Party’s weakness that seems to piss .22 off and why he constantly degrades and insult the millions of good people who formed it. It’s was common that efforts to align Tea Party groups toward a common political purpose was impossible. Coalition building in smaller, or mid-size states — like Virginia and Ohio —yielded some great results. But, in a huge state like Texas — with more than 300 Tea Party groups sprawled across the geography — bringing them together was impossible like herding cats.

The heart of the Tea Party was ordinary citizens who, in most cases, were never involved in politics at any level before and had no intention of making it a full time vocation. That certainly included me. The learning curve on how to be effective was steep for all the groups but most never envisioned becoming active in politics or forming a new party…they just wanted to stop and or slow down the burgeoning threat by the Petulant One’s announced and now evident radical transformation of America. For the most part Obama was right when he said they clung to their Bibles and their guns. That certainly included me. God bless each and every one of them who stood in the gap.

Most Americans have no understanding of the attacks, through the IRS, made on countless TEA Party groups and individuals and what many sacrificed. Obviously .22 has no idea.

Most of the time I agree with .22, I’m sick and tired of him regularly sniping and taking cheap shots at millions of Americans who started a grass roots movement that years later helped flip over 1,000 political offices away from the greatest INTERNAL THREAT to the Republic in my life time…a totally corrupt and treasonous Marxist president and the seditious Democratic Party.

A bunch of political neophytes got off their asses and bought U.S. all time, .22 is ungrateful and doesn’t have a clue about the people who made up the heart and soul of the TEA Party, what they sacrificed and accomplished.

The democratic political system as it sits now is a co-opted show. Government is no longer a servant of the people. As shown by your angry reply, I expect you’re still in the process of figuring out where the true power in government ultimately lies.

Mr Pellet Gun, seems you are really frustrated and i get it. You are mad that your comrades on the right are not mobilzing, or effectively mobilizing and indeed are often compromised by grifters. I get it. But lashing out making generalizations that “most” djt supporters are “dangerously deluded” makes you sound like a govt shill which you just may be especially given your name. The psyops would be to get those deranged righties that like your name and are delusional to friend you etc until the jackboots arrive. I agree with many here you never seem to offer solutions or realistic based ideas but rather disparage and name call. There is already enough narrative by msm claimimg trumpsters are delusional and dangerous and you just need to stop with that bullshit. The only danger they WILL pose is when the time comes to rid this nation of the fleas and locusts consuming it. Yes it will end very badly for those cockroaches thats a guarantee. But that doesnt make them delusional it makes them a constitutional patriot when the time comes. Its called revolution. Its not a one off mad man or a small group causing mayhem. Its evey patriot acting in sync to take back the country. Even the French, very surprisingly seem to get it. There is a breaking point when action over words happen. The french are nearly there. Sad part is the usa is well beyond where the french are but we so much have not even held a rally. It will come when they go after djt or afterwards when we get our own democrat macron…..then the left will be the delsuional and the right yes very dangerous, for and with righteous purpose.

To Mad as Hell, good luck finding a cash only doctor outside of NYC, Boston, LA or SFO. Out in Deplorable-land, the only doctors that don’t play by the insurance company rules are concierge docs that charge a hefty $50,000+ per person per year to enroll in their practice. That $50k is upfront, BTW. Most advertise as “Executive” doctors, as in “I don’t take care of the proletariat.” That being said, everything else in your post is on the money…..

You’re searching for good times but just wait and see

You’ll go runnin back (spend the rest of life with ya baby)
You’ll go runnin’ back to him
Go ahead baby, go ahead, go ahead and light up the town
And baby, do anything your heart desires
Remember, he’ll always be around
And I know, I know like I told you so many times before
You’re gonna go back
Yeah you’re going to go back baby
Knockin’, yeah knockin’ right on his door, yeah
Trump is on your side, yes he is

‘Cause he’s got the real love, the kind that you need
You’ll go runnin’ back (I knew you would one day)
You’ll go runnin’ back (baby I told you before)
You’ll go runnin’ back to him, yeah
