And this will go exactly nowhere, why? Because a sales tax would instantly put “we the people” in control. And that can NEVER be allowed by our overlords. They LIKE being able to force everyone to reveal their financial resources and they LOVE being able to control everything.
I would love to see this go through, as instantly you would see a vibrancy in our economy, but the odds are slim to none.
If Trump really wants to make American great again, he should be shouting this from the Twitter-sphere and promoting this to the point that the “owners” can’t bury it.

If they amend it to simply end the income tax and eliminate the IRS, with no imposition of a national sales tax*, they might have a nice bill to run with.
* Not that anyone in the government gives a shit, but I don’t think there is any Constitutional basis for a national sales tax, is there?
another good reason 4 the sales tax vs the income tax is that only a relatively small % is paying most of the income tax–
with a sales tax, people who don’t pay income tax would pay 4 their sodas, chips, televisions, etc.–
FM- There should be some caveats/exclusions included in the national sales tax scheme. For example, many states charge state tax at the same rate as any other purchase on groceries, this additional tax added on food could be a real burden on families.

The fundamental and MOST IMPORTANT failure of the so-called “Fair Tax” alternative that is being promoted by so many, is that its goal is to be “revenue neutral.” WHY? Why does the federal government deserve ONE PENNY? We can certainly argue over what one believes they should or should not do. But if we are to scale them back to ONLY what is actually authorized in the Constitution, we could definitely eliminate the Income Tax and the IRS, and replace them with NOTHING, and we would be more than fine.

AC – There was no Constitutional basis the the personal income tax either.
Working within the system to change the system is about as effective as… voting.
Terrible idea, Francis.
It would be a travesty if people kept what they earned. After all, who would feed the swamp creatures?

details star, why is it a bad idea?
thanks foxy,i’ve always liked a sales tax(not a vat)more then any other tax–
IF we HAVE TO HAVE TAXES then this is the way to go about it.

I would definitely support that legislation.
