I’m surprised it’s in English, though I suppose many of Trudeau’s ‘new Canadians’ have no native written language of their own to be illiterate in.

That form hurts my feelings. I was originally thinking the form was serious–that’s where we are as Canadians these days–but the details make it clear it’s just for fun.
The form reminds me of the Heritage Canada commercials when the government would play up some twaddle that was supposed to make us proud but actually made most sane citizens embarrassed. My favourite was one about Winnie the Pooh. Canadians could’ve been a little proud if one of our own penned Winnie the Pooh, but no; the fucking bear that inspired the story (written by a Brit) was Canadian. The government of Canada actually spent my tax dollars to make that commercial. If that’s all that we can come up with to be proud of our nation, we might as well fold our tents and dissolve the whole circus.
