I had forgotten just how bad some of this “music” was. Exceptions to be sure, but most of it was crap. Thanks for presenting it though.
Speaking of crap… Rush
Ah, the memories… The music really was better…Thanks Admin!
Saw 3 of these bands during the 70’s,ELO/Young with Crazy Horse/Pink Floyd’s Wall tour(one of only 12 or so shows due to the production/stage show and all it entailed, all good shows!Would be nice to see some T-Rex one of these Sundays!
I saw the Wall also– had to drive to Philly to see the outdoor show and the infield seating was a muddy mess from the rain but “the shown must go on”–and it was fantastic.
Doctor My Eyes is a brilliant piece by the poetic genius Jackson Browne (his politics aside)
Doctor, my eyes have seen the years
And the slow parade of fears without crying
Now I want to understand
I have done all that I could
To see the evil and the good without hiding
You must help me if you can
Doctor, my eyes
Tell me what is wrong
Was I unwise to leave them open for so long
‘Cause I have wandered through this world
And as each moment has unfurled
I’ve been waiting to awaken from these dreams
People go just where they will
I never noticed them until I got this feeling
That it’s later than it seems
I believe his last line is quite prophetic–the hour is getting late…………..
Possibly Jackson’s least depressing song. David Lindley’s lap steel will never sound as good as Jesse Ed Davis’ original guitar work on this song.
Jav,was wrong on # of shows ,the Wall Tour was a total of 31 shows, but, the actual Wall tour never hit Philly,or,the east coast at all.I saw it in 1980 while in LA.
Oooops, further research does show they did also in 1980 play the Nassua Coliseum in NY.
Thanks for the “Look Back”. Memories with each tune.
Still a Bryan Ferry fan-his show in Edinburgh(front row center seats) was pretty good in 2015(?). The days of sending me off with Avalon though are gone and never coming back…sigh.

Love Bryan Ferry, what a voice. Saw him in the 90’s.
Methinks Admin. sure has his Groove on.
Me2 Grog.

Martin Barre. Saw them in ‘78 or ‘79.
Saw over 12 shows in 78/79,would be Heavy Horses(78)/Stormwatch tour(79)seen the band or Anderson since break up over a 100 times total, since 1975 when I was 12(2 shows)till less then a year ago Anderson and band doing a 50th Tull tour.
This version of Locomotive Breath from the early 80’s,believe Broadsword And The Beast Tour, not bad but at that point down to one keyboard, best lineup in me opinion was the mid/late 70’s with 2 keyboards.
Oh,Tull me favorite band if you hadn’t guessed!
Have you served any MEATLOAF with this SundayDinnerMusic?
Who can add Bat Out of Hell? You are kind if you do…
Not my cup, but here you go-

annuit coeptis novus ordo seclorum-
Here comes the change-up.
The perfect country & western song
[youtube
Now you’re in my neck-a-the woods.
I’ll throw this one on here just because I’m flat ass impressed with some of the writers on this site:
annuit coeptis novus ordo seclorum- I think from the day I was born, it’s been more about country music for me (although I did enjoy many of the other songs Admin. is always posting, and they bring back a barrel load of memories)
and this one for good ole’ GCP:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLbfDTcUvtM
I’m gonna throw this one on here, for me:
annuit coeptis novus ordo seclorum- because I love my wife sooo much
And one last one for ‘talkin bout your politics, fightin over religion, and worryin’ bout war’:
Ordo, I dusted this one off just for you.
[youtube
I like this version of “Paperback Writer” better.
Vic-
I agree that your version is pretty good, but the ‘hick’ in me leans to the country.
annuit coeptis novus ordo seclorum-
Probably my bias showing since the Beatles are my favorite group ever. 🙂
I just love this song.

Some of you have probably never heard this.

Here’s the curve ball.

I was going to post “Psych Babble Rap”, but it was 81 or 82, so I went elsewhere.

I met Leon in Tulsa in ’75. Had a roomie who knew him. He of course wouldn’t remember me 10 min later, but it was pretty cool for some kid from the backside of nowhere. Always liked his music.
Hall and Oates wrote the original but the Tavares version is better. Philly had an awesome sound back then.
poco? now you’ve gone too far and crossed the line. almost as bad as journey or the cranberries. yeeeesh.

A great song TS!All great bands had a train song, the Who’s 5:15/Areosmiths cover of Train Kept A rolling/STP’s Interstate Love Song/Bowies Station To Station/of course Tulls Locomotive Breath, and so many others.
I was in a band and besides covers we did some originals, including of course a train song,Freight 88.

Just found this…
Well, this is 1980, but somehow I doubt if JQ is going to go with a Wednesday 80s. And it is in the spirit of things. Love the intro.

1970 – “Fortunate Son” CCR. (Anyone who argues with this one can blow me.)
1971 -” Bobby McGee” J Joplin (Anyone who argues with this one can blow me.)
1972 – “American Pie” Don McClean (Anyone who argues with this one can blow me.)
1973 “Stuck in the Middle with You” Stealers Wheel
1974 “I Shot the Sheriff” Clapton
1975 “Fame” Bowie
1976 “Rhiannon” Fleetwood Mac
1977 Margaritaville – J Buffett
1978 “Running on Empty” Jackson Browne (what a bunch of crap was put out in 1978 – the year disco took over)
1979 “When you’re in love with a beautiful woman” Dr Hook (another year of discosucksass)
I considered several of those.
The songs or the blowing?
