In this video she makes notice of the color of the smoke. It’s always white in these weird circumstances like the California fires, Boston marathon Bombing, etc. Trees burning from the inside out as is the cathedral spire. ABNORMAL? WAY YES !
I found the smoke odd as well and to me it rules out a petroleum based accelerant.

Actually white smoke is normal, the color of smoke is determined by how old the fire is, how much carbon dioxide and several other factors. If you want to undrstand more…here is an excellent article which explains how fire works.

800 year old cured oak from old stand timber is about as flammable as concrete. The Snopes squad is out there saying that the structural timbers used to keep that roof in place for close to a thousand years was ‘dry and rotted’ and a ‘spark’ could have gotten in there to start the fire.
What are you going to do? No one lives in the natural world anymore, they don’t the difference between a duraflame log and the real thing. You could tell them that churches spontaneously burst into flames and they’d probably believe it. It was an arson, now it’s a matter of how best to cover it up so they can get back to rebuilding it as a cultural center for the celebration of diversity.

I’ve got a 91 year old house with exposed roof rafters that the rain gutters are attached to-I have no clue as to what species of wood it is, but nothing larger than a 6d nail could be used to install hangers for new gutters. Nails any larger would bend. Had to use screws and pre-drill the holes. On the positive side, there was no sign of rot, even on the north side of the house.
Oak or Douglas Fir. I am leaning toward oak.
I’ve done a lot of remodeling type work in 100 yr. old homes. Way back when, I bought a Paslode nailer that is powered by a gas canister with an electric spark provided by a battery. I use a ring shanked nail that is 3 1/4″ x .131″/12d nail. Rarely drives them deep enough to sink the head without a couple ‘taps’ from a 22 oz eastwing, and at times has nearly broken a knuckle with the recoil when hitting a knot……

Had to do the whole thing with hand driven 16 ring shanks, using nothing smaller than 2 x 8’s, 10’s and 2 x 12’s of yellow pine…..

Notre Dame’s interior and walls are all stone, the vault of the stone ceiling covers the wood roof, tourists have access to the balconies and people could get up to the roof and hide. The roof covered what was/is essentially an attic space between the stone vault and the wooden roof. The roof of the spire which collapsed was sheathed in lead, the fire had evidently melted the lead.
Three years ago three Muslim women were arrested for attempting to blow up the building. One of them, Ines Madani, was recently (April 8) sentenced to 8 years in prison.
There were two fire alarms that went off Monday evening. There is a permanent fire investigator working with the building, he investigated the first alarm and saw nothing. By the time the second alarm went off, fire was engulfing the building.
The French government technically owns the building and rebuilding funds will come from taxes and donations.
What I know without question; the story is absolute crap. A construction site like that, with that much scaffolding erected, on a near thousand year old national monument, would have had about two safety inspectors for every worker swingin a hammer.

We also drastically reduced the number of electrical appliances throughout the building, and completely forbid them in the attic.”

Suppose the video Admin posted and the one Steve posted are correct or as close to correct as we are likely to get for awhile. That would imply a well organized and executed plan with quite a lot of moving parts. Arson can be readily accomplished by one or two people and the videos of the persons on the roof and the ignition of something indicate just that. It’s also possible to access the roof from the balconies and tourists do indeed go up there.
As to Muslims having much to lose? No, they had much to gain if this was an act of terrorism. The timing is important, Easter Week, the building is the pre-eminent symbol of Christianity in France and Europe. Muslims are at war with Christianity, witness the many murders committed in primarily Muslim countries. Easter Week is perfect timing to make a statement and strike a blow for Islam and against Christianity.

But not as impressive as planes ramming into the Twin Towers and bringing them down along with Building 7 at free-fall velocities while melting and volatilizing steel in the process and leaving a blanket of dust on the streets of Lower Manhattan composed of uncombusted nano-thermite and micro-spheres of iron. And the contractor has already stated for the record that there were no workmen in the building and no ongoing work at the time of the fire. Of course they got to him pretty quick and not a peep has been heard from him since.
