I have done some really stupid stuff in my life, but I cannot imagine that I would ever let my child ride on an alligator. Even if the alligator’s mouth is wired shut, an alligator is really dangerous in about 100 different ways. For a start: big, sharp claws and a tail that can knock a grown man 20 feet into the middle of next week.

pretty sure it’s mouth is not wired,most trappers just use duct tape –it’s probably well fed & obviously has some conditioning as it follows him around but one bad moment & the kid is dead–
remember the 2 guys in vegas who had the nightclub act & the tiger bit one of them,back around 2001/2002–
this is as stupid as people who pose w/big cats or swim w/sharks–
The parents do the same thing on the St John’s river, they tow their children in tubes behind the boat right next to the Lilly pads that are packed full of giant gators. I cry every time I see it.

Oh, my goodness, people can be so stupid. I warn my college-age son about alligators on the Savannah River all the time because he and his friends go to a park next to the river to hang out. An alligator will hide just under the water and when it senses an opportunity, it will rush in, grab you, and pull you under and drown you, just so it can eat you later. They’re dangerous as hell.

Thank you so much for asking, TampaRed. He’s doing well now. It turned out to be walking pneumonia. It took a couple of weeks for him to fully recover from it. It was a terrible scare for us though.
