35 Reasons To Leave California

Authored by Michael Snyder via TheMostImportantNews.com,

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was a “reboot” button for an entire state? Because the truth is that if an entire state ever needed to completely start over it is the state of California. At this point it has become the epicenter for just about everything that is wrong with America, and each year it just keeps coming up with new ways to become an even worse cesspool of social decay and depravity.

Millions of people have already left the state, and millions more are thinking of leaving. One recent survey found that 47 percent of all Californians are thinking about moving out of the state in the next five years, and a different survey discovered that 53 percent of those currently living in the state would like to leave. If about half the people in your state are seriously considering leaving, it is safe to say that things have gone horribly wrong. But instead of changing course, those running California continue taking the state down a very self-destructive path.

It is such a shame, because California should be one of the greatest places in the world to live. The weather is wonderful most of the year, the state still possesses extraordinary natural beauty, and the tech industry provides plenty of high paying jobs.

When I was growing up, millions of young Americans dreamed of moving there and living “the California dream”, and when I was a young man I seriously explored the possibility of moving there myself.

And the truth is that a lot of great things have come out of the state. The following comes from a recent article by Ann Coulter

In the last century, every great thing started in California: surfing, jeans, Disneyland, tax revolts, McDonald’s, movies, car culture, the Grateful Dead, right on red turns, Merle Haggard, skateboarding, Apple computer, and the last two elected Republican presidents not named “Bush.”

But now I don’t know why anyone would want to live there.

If you currently live in California, I am about to tell you a whole bunch of reasons why you should leave. In fact, if I could get everybody to leave the state, I would.

However, if you feel specifically called to stay, then that is what you should do. Without a doubt, light is needed the most where things are the darkest, and California needs as much light as it can get right now.

Unfortunately, I believe that it is too late for the state as a whole. It is headed for a date with destiny, and most of the nearly 40 million people that live there have absolutely no idea what is coming.

If you live in the state and you do not know what you should do, I would get out while you still can. The following are 35 reasons why you should move away from California…

1. Incredibly high taxes. At this point, California has the highest marginal tax rate in the entire country.

2. Absurd housing costs.

3. The median home value in the state is now more than half a million dollars, and that is about twice as high as the national average.

4. It has been estimated that it now takes approximately $350,000 a year to live a middle class lifestyle in the city of San Francisco.

5. Endless wildfires.

6. Epic mudslides.

7. Horrific traffic jams.

8. Los Angeles has the worst traffic congestion in the entire world.

9. The education system is awful.

10. Medical tyranny.

11. One of the highest poverty levels in the United States.

12. Thousands of drug addicts are literally pooping in the streets.

13. Almost half of all the homeless people in the entire nation live in California.

14. The state is literally being overrun by millions of rats.

15. Los Angeles has been ranked as the second most rat-infested city in the country.

16. At this point things are so bad that even Los Angeles City Hall is being overrun by rats.

17. Illegal immigration is out of control, and the sanctuary cities in California are making things even worse.

18. Rising gang activity.

19. High crime rates.

20. There is now a law in California that protects shoplifters. So for those that enjoy shoplifting, this might actually be a reason to move into the state.

21. The drug war that has been raging in Mexico is increasingly spilling across the border.

22. California has been ranked as the worst state in the nation to do business year after year.

23. California is also one of the most litigious states in the entire country.

24. The once pristine beaches in the state are now being “completely overrun with fecal bacteria”.

25. Nancy Pelosi.

26. Kamala Harris.

27. Governor Gavin Newsom.

28. The lieutenant governor, the attorney general, the secretary of state and the state treasurer are all Democrats.

29. Democrats make up nearly two-thirds of the California State Senate.

30. Democrats make up more than two-thirds of the California State Assembly.

31. Both of the U.S. senators and 46 out of the 53 members of the House of Representatives that California sends to Washington are Democrats.

32. Much of the population is openly hostile to those that identify as conservatives.

33. California has been on the cutting edge of America’s moral decay for decades.

34. There have been more than 100,000 earthquakes in the state so far this year.

35. One day the “Big One” will hit California, and the geography of the state will be dramatically altered. The devastation will be unlike anything we have ever witnessed, and the death toll will be unimaginable.

If Donald Trump wins the next presidential election, there is a group of activists in California that plan to get a “Calexit” referendum on the ballot for the following election.

Those activists don’t want to be part of a country that would elect Trump two times, because they consider their values to be completely and utterly incompatible with Trump’s values.

But what is happening in this nation is far bigger than just Trump.

To me, it would be wonderful if the rest of the nation decided that their values were completely and utterly incompatible with California’s values. We desperately need to turn America around, and the way to do that is to head in a completely opposite direction from the way that California is going.

Sadly, it does not appear that is going to happen. California may be racing ahead of most of the rest of the country, but our final destination will be the same.

The commies and the confused were intellectually vaporized thanks to Kirk’s managed implosion and The Views managed implosion.

Anyone who still refuses intellectual honesty after sitting them down and pulling a “Donald J. Trump Jr. on The View” on them personally is someone you just can’t save, at least at present.

1. The War between the States was a managed implosion.

2. 9/11 was a managed implosion.

3. Demolishing the false paradigm a billion+ women lived until yesterday in was a managed implosion.

A. Which implosion do you believe really matters most in 2019?

B. Is a managed implosion better than an unmanaged explosion?

Look at California, Illinois, the Northeastern states such as NY, NJ, MA, they all have socialist majorities elected to their governments. These elected leaders are destroying these very states as noted in the article. Additionally, these states are bankrupt tot he point they can’t tax their way out. They have high crime and murder rates with the most gun restrictive laws.
Yet the media, the elite, and most importantly the voters could care less that they are screwed. Entropy is increasing, not slowing.

You’ve got to burn down the states to save the states.

Those states are being intellectually liberated as we speak, even if you cannot see it or comprehend it.

If Burlington, MA was terrorism, and I cannot see how it wasn’t, well, just watch and absorb the movie Swordfish.

I agree with the author, and in fact, left Calif. ten years ago. Many reasons but the stupidity of the voters was hazardous to my health, so I left. I do take issue with the author’s fact about the number of “dissatisfied” citizens who have left or are thinking of leaving. If the percentages mentioned were true, then there would be sufficient numbers to alter the political landscape. But that doesn’t happen. The facts of the liberal/democrat stranglehold on the state are true. Before I left, I would tell people I had no representation. No one cared for any conservative thought. So I left. Good riddance. California can stew in it’s own pathetic juices of decrepitude and rot.

The Fed Gov, which represents the concept of the USA, has outlived its usefulness. Everything that DC does is now counterproductive for the vast majority of people not just in the US but around the world. It’s time to let it go. The USA worked when it was a country. It became dysfunctional when it turned into an empire.

No one, no state, no region likes what is policy set by the Fed Gov. Some may like this but hate that while others like that and hate this. The Fed Gov resembles a continuing melee between European soccer fans. The reason for this is that the geographic area and population numbers are simply too large for a single monopoly to want to control. What’s needed is a more local approach to solving any areas issues.

For any statist, state gov’t should be enough to satisfy the urge to constantly meddle in things that’s none of their business. The 50 states should become new countries and the clown show in DC should just dissipate like passed gas. The USSR went away quietly and the USA should do the same. Should, but won’t if resources are available to linger longer. An economic collapse is about the only thing that can remove enough resources to make the owners of the country realize that taking their ill gotten spoils is enough and get out of Dodge. Any attempt to keep the empire on life support would be catastrophic world wide.

Let the progressives / liberals double down on their failed policies in California while Texas goes another way. Over time, a relatively short time, it will become obvious which model works. People will vote with their feet as is already happening and rationality will return. What’s needed is the liberty to experiment and the Fed Gov monopoly won’t let the consequences of failed state wide experiments materialize while resources exist to cover them up.

Unfortunately they’re invading normal places like Texas much like the invasion of Virginia, North Carolina, Idaho, western Oregon/Washington, southern Nevada, Arizona, Michigan etc. They’ve moved hundreds of thousands of Somali’s into what was once white North Dakota and northern Minnesota.

You are correct small enclaves of community will be established throughout north America where normal people thrive and the calichusettians will be unwelcome.

The parasites currently living well off the decent working people of the country are going to get a rude awakening when resources become more scarce.

The coming solar cycle and its known long term history predict that climate change alone will cause problem in the near future if its effects aren’t already here. If trend and scientific data are to be believed, cold, not heat is going to change things in agriculture and food prices alone might be the straw that broke the camels back to lead to violence. Once started, violence will become its own meme and will erupt spontaneously and randomly where conditions have festered for its appearance.

The fact that parasites can completely overwhelm a host is a known phenomenon and is what has happened in certain population concentrations already, as you say.

In areas where the parasite density has not reached critical mass, the infection will be healed possibly violently so.

Those that are currently proud of their non assimilation by wearing their ridiculous religious garb will discover that the black headdress of a Hijab looks an awful lot like the center of a target. The mosques that have been constructed in defiance of the local communities wishes but with the full cooperation of the politicians might catch fire.

The long term ghetto residents will, as their recent history demonstrates, start rioting when their impossible demands aren’t immediately met. In this next phase, however, the response will not be to placate them, at least not for long. They are likely to receive serious push back from folks who’ve been put upon for decades to support these true deplorables the left relies on to get elected. That push back will likely have weaponry.

The political class will not be spared. What has recently happened in several Latin/South American countries will get repeated in the US. Politicians have been dragged into the streets and pummeled. Worse is not beyond the possible.

The question of what ultimately happens is up in the air as the number of possibilities, probabilities and permutations are incalculable.

So in other words … CalExit. You and Michael Snyder (and apparently everyone who upvoted your comment) almost stumbled across the solution to the problem of California, but somehow managed to completely miss it (like almost everyone else). CalExit is not an ideal solution, but if California was to secede from the rest of the U.S. it would a least be at step in the right direction. The rest of the U.S, which badmouths California all of the time, would be rid of California and Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff and many others the right hates, but apparently the right doesn’t hate them enough to want to be rid of them. Then the (new) USA could control its borders to keep out the leftists from California who are invading the other states. So everyone on the right in the rest of the country should be supporting CalExit, but for some reason most of them don’t. I think most people on the right, including most of TBP readers, enjoy complaining about the left so much that they would be disappointed if the left went away.

California Pizza Kitchen was an interesting take on pizza when it first came out. Thai chicken pizza…..quite tasty actually. CA is an awesome place that became a victim of its own success and sold its soul the commie left. If instead of 42M of which at least 10M are illegal aliens….if there were 15M-20M in the state, with no illegal aliens and it was run with a limited government it would be a paradise. Sure there would still be earthquakes, fires, and white sharks but it would be awesome….in CA one never thinks about the weather.

I can remember in the 1980s riding bicycles from Newport to Del Mar, seeing seals playing on the rocks, long stretches of coastline without houses and riding through Pendelton seeing the helos and tanks in training exercises. It is all gone now….chockablock with homes the whole way.

CA has plenty of water in the north and they have the infrastructure to move it south….as needed for 20M but not so much at 40M….

As goes CA so goes the USA.

I live in S.E. Minnesota on a small farm that would now be considered a ‘hobby farm’ by the new standards.

I was inspired to comment because a new couple from Cali bought a mere 5 acre spread down the road from me last Summer and they are already expressing their views of what “should be done” to improve things in the Township/County/State/Nation/World/and entire Universe.

I have never had a bad experience with a Beaner. Illegal or otherwise. But the illegals invaded some towns to the west of me and took jobs at low wages. (think: So Cal construction jobs that once paid $30/hr that now pay $10/hr). They moved into the low rent districts and drove up housing prices for the poor. They overwhelmed the school districts with their non-English speaking children. This caused property taxes to skyrocket. I could go on, but I will leave it at that for now.

Peace to you, my friend.

LA beaners are wild. It was known for a long time that El Paso beaners went to Cali to finish their criminal education. We have had some nasty incidents up here in the AV that confirm our bad name. I had read a long time ago that there is a lot of undiagnosed mental illness in the Hispanic group. I’d guess it exists in black and in white poor as well.

There’s a lot of both diagnosed AND undiagnosed mental illness across all races. Looking at America, I’d say it’s most prevalent among Whitey.

Disclaimer: I’m white, love my heritage and am proud of it.

But we have shit the bed the last 100 years, more so than any other group. We’ve turned a nation with 76% of the world’s physical gold and the largest creditor in human history, into the largest debtor nation in human history.

That takes extraordinary talent.

I attribute that to a criminal mind and greed and not simply mental illness, although I guess one could label it as such. If only we had a Justice system that would define crime and hold people accountable to what is right and what is wrong, we might be a lot better off. Instead, the criminals get their cronies to do their bidding at every level by greasing the gears in their favor. I know, it is the story of history, but this is supposed to be America, right? But now we have degenerated to the level of Bill’s “What the definition of “is” is?” Politicians want power and position but then claim to not have “intent” for their actions. To me, not understanding your actions makes you either ignorant or mentally ill. Politicians claiming the later should be locked up in jail or an institution.

I have shared many of your experiences Vodka. I won’t go so far as to judge all by a single experience. I pick and choose as to how a person presents him or herself as I feel you do. That said, I live near the largest population of islam in the USA. That situation is now growing out of control. That population of immigrants is not assimilating. This will only end badly, IMO. It gets worse by the day.

When a person, any person of any ethnic background, religion or political view moves to a new location it would be wise to learn the local culture. Get to know the folks you will be living around. Once you have been welcomed into the community, put down roots. If you don’t want to assimilate to the new surroundings or culture you might want to call yourself an invader or terrorist.

Beaners, huh? You piece of white-trash, salt covered cracker puke a$$bite. I am a “beaner” and a conservative, God loving, America loving, American born, Christian man who has more to my background that would put you to shame. My father was an Army 1st Sgt, Air Cav (An Khe, Vietnam) who served this country and had to fight the ignorance of your kind with superior knowledge and skills to survive and rise in the ranks.

You generalize at your own peril and push away those who could be your fellow patriots when the SHTF.

Have to agree with you my friend. Gimme true followers of Christ of any race and I’ll show you the hardest-working crew on the block. Parable of the Talents and all that. Maybe we won’t be as wealthy as Bloomberg but we’ll take care of our families and communities, not fish for handouts, and git ‘r dun.

Glad to see you here. You’re another example of what I mean when I say that when SHTF, unity is likely among races if we acknowledge we are fallen. Hang around a bit and ignore some of the shit slinging. You’ll do fine.

Nice to have your comment without the “beaner” slight. I agree with your sentiments about unity when the stuff hits the fan, but when it does, and it will, how will a good-guy like myself distinguish himself from the illegals when people like you judge based on skin color. Brown=Bad. Shoot first, ask questions later, maybe. There are millions like myself who are not like the illegals who come here simply to take.

They support this country, fight for it, vote for people like President Trump. He is not a perfect man, but he is perfect for the times. The republicans in D.C. have not learned from his example that it is past time to take off the gloves and fight the good fight, take the fight to the enemy, because that is what they are. These liberals, socialists, are not Americans. You know it. I know it. They know it. Like Obama, they don’t have a single corpuscle of red American blood coursing through their veins.

These socialists play by their own rule book and have snookered all. They play by the rules of Alinksy, Cloward=Piven, et al. Check them out at

Like socialism, communism around the world and throughout history, it is nothing new and has failed everywhere it has been tried. Why? Because of the overwhelming desire of man for freedom, liberty and the will to determine their own destiny. Yes, there are many of the 7 billion plus on this earth that are of the mind to be taken care of, want free stuff, will steal from others to lessen their own burden, or to simply have power over others. But the ideas have been around for a long time, even longer than Marx, Lenin, Trotsky, and many others have longed to ignore the realities of the world, mankind, and human nature.

We are in a fight for survival. It will be either as free men standing, or as slaves on bended knee, or dead with or without a pile of brass next to them. I like Gen. Schwartzkopf’s saying “Our job is not to judge them. That’s God’s job. Our job is to arrange the meeting.”

California citizens, when you do leave the crap hole for another state, please leave behind the politics that ruined the once great state of Cali!

I have more to add as I live here, in CA. Was brought here as a child the state used to be beautiful! But now it looks a lot like a post apocalyptic country. I have been seriously considering moving to Oklahoma or back to Indiana. I am terminally ill and disabled, also a single mom. I need to be somewhere my child will learn morals and values as I did growing up. I have missed the country life and struggled just to survive and not lose myself completely. This state is cold and cruel if you are poor. They recently bused 1500 homeless from LA to the Inland Empire area after being given funds to provide housing. I see people with their little bags , baskets, and boxes of belongings and human beings being moved a few at a time to where ever. You would not believe some of the other things I see and hear. Probably not a good idea to say anything on this platform. Ironically I have been trying to leave this state for years. God, Family Country someone needs to remind this states government that WE THE PEOPLE are truly Governed by God Almighty, the ONE TRUE GOD, YEHWAH.
