Bernie Sanders: America Is Not Great in Some ‘Very Significant Ways’

Via Breitbart

AUSTIN, TX - FEBRUARY 23: Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) speaks during a campaign rally at Vic Mathias Shores Park on February 23, 2020 in Austin, Texas. With early voting underway in Texas, Sanders is holding four rallies in the delegate-rich state this weekend before traveling on to …

Appearing Sunday evening on CBS News’ 60 Minutes, Democrat presidential frontrunner Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) argued the United States is not a “great” country in several “very significant ways.”

A transcript is as follows:

ANDERSON COOPER: Donald Trump got elected talking to white middle-class Americans, white working-class Americans, promising to–to make America great again. Your stump speech, your critics say, sounds like nothing works in America, hasn’t for generations. Is America great?

SEN. BERNIE SANDERS: In many ways, we are. In some ways, very significant ways, we’re not. We’re not great when half of our people today are living paycheck to paycheck. When 500,000 people tonight are going to be sleeping out on the streets, including 30,000 veterans. You know, my father came to this country at the age of 17 without a nickel in his pocket. Couldn’t speak a word of English, had very limited education. We are a great nation, because people like my father would never have dreamed in a million years that their kids would become United States senators or be successful in many other ways.

The man is a very dizzy and angry clown. Kept locked up in Vermont doing odd jobs until he stumbled into the Washington DC paradigm. He is more than willing to play commissar at the expense of those who work and earn for a living. He has profited nicely from his time in DC as his wife and children have also. She singlehandedly destroyed Burlington College and made out like a bandit in the process.

Listen to the survivors from Venezuela for the real dope on socialism and its horrid effects.

You have to wonder whether such a piece of commie trash being allowed to live and go his own way is a sign of greatness or a sign of decline and derangement? Regardless, he’s got “The Guru” now.

“a sign of greatness or a sign of decline and derangement”

a sign of greatness if he’s irrelevant, a sign of decline and derangement if he’s relevant.

Government had always been and will continue to be, the source of all of the problems he complains about (either in their direct action or in their crony capitalist protections of other horrible actors in the market). He of course wants MORE and MORE government, doing even worse things, creating even bigger problems down the road. When his father came to this country, virtually nobody in the nation ever dealt with the federal government except when they got their mail. Now, virtually every second of every day is “regulated” in some manner by the federal government (not to mention state and local parasites). It is so bad that according to one book, every American commits at least 3 felonies a day, without even knowing it (“Three Felonies a Day: How the Feds Target the Innocent”). Wake up Bernie…..YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.

“He of course wants MORE and MORE government”

no, you’re not getting it. he wants to be the government himself. that will eliminate all his problems.

(same as libertarians ….)

He’s currently in the lead in the Democratic primaries, based on that fact alone I’d have to agree with him.

To have an avowed Marxist in the lead in a Presidential election should be an indicator of something being off.

Indeed, ALL of this is symptomatic of our underlying problems. Lincoln, LBJ, FDR, etc. were “inevitable,” given the state of mentality at the time in the nation.

Sanders is right in many of his criticisms. It is fair to say that a huge percentage of the country is being screwed over. Trump said it too. The problem with Sanders is that his solutions will make things worse. Criticism is easy. Solutions are hard.

“Off” is kind my friend, bring on the Gulag’s. My son bought me an actual physical copy of Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn’s commencement address at Haaaaahvaad in 1978 for Christmas (bless his heart, what 21 year old does that for their old man). It just goes to show that humans won’t learn from history even when it is slapping them in the face. WTF?

I laugh at the MSMBS nashing of tee about Bernie the democratic socialist communist. They are pretending that the rest of the Democrats aren’t democrat socialist communists. The only difference is that Bernie embrases the name and the others pretend to be constitutional democrats. Bloomberg is different. He is a democratic socialist crony fascist. The Democrats have been closet socialists for at least 70 years. There is no such thing as a moderate Democrat. They are either communists or lying.

I was just reading about the #Walkaway Campaign. Seems a lot of people are getting tired and perhaps concerned with the direction the democrat party is heading. People are getting tired of the constant hate, the constant America bashing, the constant, if you are not with us 100% then you are against us.

Most millennials/socialist can’t even have a rational discussion, if you opt to have an exchange of ideas, “This discussion is OVER!”
It’s amazing how much they hate America.

This however, is enlightening: https://www.walkawaycampaign.com/

The #WalkAway Campaign is a true grassroots movement, founded by former liberal, Brandon Straka on May 26th, 2018. The #WalkAway Campaign encourages and supports those on the Left to walk
away from the divisive tenets endorsed and mandated by the Democratic Party of today. We are
walking away from the lies, the false narratives, the fake news, the race-baiting, the victim narrative,
the violence, the vandalism, the vitriol. We are walking away from a party driven by hate. We are
walking toward patriotism and a new, unified America! We are the future of this great nation!

Maybe Martin Armstrong is correct and the next election a third party candidate is elected…….or maybe we get President Dwayne Herman Macho Mountain Dew, like it matters at this point.

“It’s amazing how much they hate America.”

you’re failing to grasp the actual situation. it’s not that they hate america. it’s that, under the influence of a for-export version of judaism, they hate anything that is not them. that’s all.

“if you opt to have an exchange of ideas, ‘This discussion is OVER!’”

yes, because they can’t discuss ideas, they can only discuss themselves, and everyone will see that.

‘This discussion is OVER!’”
These people are taught this reply, or something close. Had a women tell me this while talking about the liberal words “food insecurities” and “food deserts” while at the local Farmer’s Market which is located within sight of two large public housing developments, one about five hundred feet away.

“These people are taught this reply”

and it works for them because they’re taught that they are the center of morality, so if they say discussion is over then it’s over for everyone.

but his tribe will make it great, by owning and controlling all of it and eliminating anyone that doesn’t submit. just like in the soviet union.

When half of the people get a monthly government check, it becomes easy to vote for the guy who will keep the checks coming, at least as long as the fed can print the money to cover them.

There is a greater than insignificant chance Sanders becomes the next US president.

I am really glad I live in Australia. The US is fucked when a guy like this even makes it into the nominating process of the US, much less is the runaway Dem party nominee.

Even the nutjob lefties in OZ would not put up with this asshole.

Sen. Sanders’ appeal is to a large extent his anachronism:
by being a “socialist” he suggests the comforting thought that despite all evidence to the contrary there is still a “society.”
