The only hope we have – it’s not isolation for many months – is a cure or a die off of the virus. They could be spending the helicopter money on a race for the cure like they did for GERDS. Or they could implement the Hitler model; spend it building hospital annexes to process Corona victims, sending the worst cases to a containment facility in the Canada or the Mexican (Chihuahua) desert.
Disrupting a hundred thousand lives this way would beat disrupting everybody’s life.

Despite the expected lock in, and the state-wide order to stay at home, the streets here are full of traffic. What has changed? The mall is closed, diners have to go through the drive-thru. The local Mexican fast food restaurant has take-out only. Lowes and Home Depot have plenty of shoppers.
One old lady was pushing the shopping cart with her thumb and pointer finger. Some shoppers leave used latex gloves in the cart or on the very pavement where they got onto their vehicle. Hardly anybody is wearing a mask. Last week I saw a short dude (not me) wearing a mask, baggy sweatpants and a jacket. He looked like he was sick and I wondered what he was doing in a department store. Yesterday I saw a small family coming out of Sam’s, they all were wearing masks.
I don’t understand the disconnect. You see all these people in China and Italy wearing masks, but our dear leaders tell us not to wear masks or gloves.
