I went to the protest on Tuesday. It was peaceful and after I helped make the crowd look respectably large for the TV helicopters, I left. I guess I’m now an honorary member of BLM. A big percentage of these looters and rioters are white. Think Portland-style Antifas and punks. Most of these rioting youths – whites, regular American blacks, Somalis, native Americans – are rioting not out of anger over George Floyd getting murdered or even against the “system” but because young men like to get caught up in the emotion of a riot. Just like some young men like the excitement of war. I remember cars getting tipped over when the Twinkies won the World Series many years ago. Seen the same thing in Boston after some sportball win. These fires will damage the neighborhoods – maybe for years, but those involved don’t care at all. Interestingly, the hispanics largely haven’t been involved. I don’t think they want any legal trouble, since most of our Hispanics are newly arrived and thus illegal. I’m about 3-4 miles away (within Minneapolis) and I didn’t even hear a single siren. I did hear a loon about 4:45 AM. Separate worlds. Hope things calm down today. Those cops will be prosecuted, so there’s no sense driving businesses out of that part of S Minneapolis. FYI, that part of the city is relatively decent. It’s North Minneapolis (“over norf”) that’s the toughest part by far.

I’ve seen this picture in Juarez, I can tell you how it ends – martial law imposed with curfew, stop and frisk, random arrests, disappearances, home invasions, robbery. Finally, after several more secret murders, the mothers appeal for removal of military occupation.
What did it get the rioters but a more aggressive police force? Just last week they had a shootout between drug sicarios and the popo, quite a few sicarios went down. If blacks want to get froggy, they can jump in but the cops ain’t gonna be playing patty cake.

Except we’re in a Fourth Turning and the rules are different. Ask yourself something: Who’s caused more damage to this nation, the black looter or the white do-gooder? Kunta Kinte or Bill Gates? Malcolm X or FDR? I’ll win the moral equivalency game every single time. But there’s no point…it doesn’t win the war.
