Dark Winter of a Grand Old Party

Dark Winter of a Grand Old Party

There may have been a worse 90 days in Republican Party history, but it is difficult to recall exactly when.

It has been a dreadful three months for the Grand Old Party.

On Nov. 3, President Donald Trump seemed to have lost the White House by narrowly losing three crucial blue states he had won in 2016 — Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania — and Georgia and Arizona as well.

Trump immediately mounted an acrimonious two-month campaign to prove the election had been “rigged” and “stolen,” enlisting virtually the entire party behind his claim.

On Jan. 5, after an intra-party battle between Trump and the Georgia Republican leadership, the GOP lost both of Georgia’s Senate seats and control of the U.S. Senate.

On Jan. 6, a mob, after storming the Capitol to block a formal vote to confirm the election of Joe Biden as president, rampaged through the building for hours.

On Jan. 13, Trump was impeached by Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s House for “incitation of insurrection.”

The trial began Tuesday, featuring endless reruns of footage from the Jan. 6 occupation, showing thugs invading and trashing the Capitol and searching out Pelosi and Vice President Mike Pence.

Trump’s defense: He directed the crowd on the mall to march to the Capitol “peacefully” not violently, and the White House was unaware there might be a mob assault.

In the month since the attack on the Capitol, says The New York Times, 140,000 Republicans in 25 states have renounced their party by changing their registration. And Joe Biden’s approval rating has been in the 50s, a level Trump did not reach in four years.

There may have been a worse 90 days in Republican Party history, but it is difficult to recall exactly when.

There was the Goldwater defeat of 1964, which left the party with less than 40% of the presidential vote and less than a third of the seats in the House and Senate.

There was the Watergate year 1974, which saw Richard Nixon resign in August and the party lose 49 House seats that fall and then lose the presidency to Jimmy Carter in 1976.

Yet, the years following these political disasters were not all that bad.

Goldwater’s defeat was followed by the Nixon-led comeback in 1966, with the party picking up 47 seats and then recapturing the White House in 1968. And while Watergate was followed by the loss of Nixon’s successor Gerald Ford in 1976, Jimmy Carter’s presidency opened the door to the winningest Republican of them all, Ronald Reagan.

In short, it is not always true as Sen. John McCain mordantly observed, that the darkest hour is often just before it turns totally black.

What are the prerequisites for a Republican restoration?

As Nixon’s victory in 1968 and Reagan’s in 1980 showed, a party comeback requires, first, the perceived failure of the opposition on issues of major concern to the great majority.

In 1968, LBJ’s Great Society program had ushered in five summers of race riots, soaring crime rates, a social and cultural revolution on the campuses, and a war in Southeast Asia that was consuming 200 to 300 American lives a week.

Under Carter in 1980, there were 21% interest rates, 13% inflation, 7% unemployment and 52 U.S. hostages being held in Iran.

A second and indispensable element of a party comeback is party unity, which Nixon and Reagan produced, as Eisenhower had before them.

Whether the GOP will be united in 2022 or 2024 depends, very much today, on one man.

Still, as of today, though Biden appears personally popular, he seems to be moving leftward in a way that will play into the GOP’s hands on several issues.

Shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline, for example, is a policy decision that will kill thousands of jobs to prevent an “existential crisis” millions of workers do not see.

Second, Biden has moved the racial goalposts from equality of opportunity to “equity” for all, which can only be attained by socialist action to even out incomes and wealth through quotas, affirmative action and set-asides. Yet, voters in ultra-liberal California last fall crushed Prop 16, which would have empowered public agencies, universities and colleges to consider race, gender and ethnicity when making decisions on contracting, hiring and student admissions.

Moreover, the liberal immigration policy Biden promised last fall has already caused a stampede to our Southern border. Some 78,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended by the Border Patrol crossing in January alone. They are now being caught at the rate of 3,000 a day.

Securing the border is a populist and national security issue.

Other Trump add-ons to the traditional GOP agenda remain popular with large majorities of Americans.

Consider the “America first” issues of economic nationalism, the return of manufacturing to the United States, and keeping U.S. troops out of foreign wars where no vital U.S. interests are imperiled.

The questions of the hour are these: Will the GOP be united against an incumbent party that is moving visibly leftward and dragging the country with it — and what will Donald Trump do?

The RINOs talking about starting a new center/right party enshrining all the RINO/GOPe values (Squishiness, backstabbing, globalism, Dem-lite everything, neocon foreign policy) means they do see themselves as a minority about to be kicked out by all of us toothless, Christian, double-wide dwellers. Let’s kick ’em good while they are down.

I bet the suckers that funded those asshats at the Lincoln Project won’t be in line for this fuqueing. Word is the guys running it may have embezzled ten or twenty million plus their “fees” which were extravagant.

Pat Buchanan is nothing but another clueless bitch out of the Swamp. He talks about the “next time” for the GOP, just like everything will go on as usual. When Imperial America collapses, there will be no “next time” for the useless scum who’ve made their living in Washington, D.C., their entire lives. Those peoples’ destiny will eventually be a long drop from a short rope tied to a lamppost somewhere.

I don’t really care whether the GOP dies or not. If a new more nationalistic party were to arise, it would probably be co-opted and watered down within a couple of years. We’ve been stuck with these two parties for 160 years; that seems likely to continue. Either way, things will probably just crumble.

I don’t know about your very last sentence. I have not seen any criminal rats from that crowd do anything other than prosper. What Pat failed to explore were the cheat-o-matic machines in 30 States. Yeah. The ones that were NOT to be internet capable, according to Congressional testimony, but I watched a geek tap into one in live time during the Georgia run offs. (Had to watch on the internet as MSM did a ‘radio silence’). But there was no cheating!
The Repubs are going the way of the ones in Cali. They will be a little minority, maybe 25%, of gadflies. The Communists Dems will have a Super Ultra majority and rule with an iron fist. Forward!

The Washington people won’t have the time to take over the country. Based on the graph below, everyone will soon be wiping their asses on $20 bills before too long, at which point the Washington Globalists will lose control of everything.

“And Joe Biden’s approval rating has been in the 50s,”

That’s pretty damned hard to believe.

But, even NewsMax is saying the same. Actually, they say Dementia Joe’s approval is at an astounding 62%!! They say;

“Biden holds strong support on his handling of the economy, uniting the country, and fighting the coronavirus pandemic, according to a special online version of the survey.”

Fuk Me With A Spoon.

In November 2020 gas here in The Shithole State was about $2.15/gal. Today it’s almost $3/gal. Yeah!!! Dementia Joe is an economic genius!!

Buchanan has turned into a Diseased Donkey Dick sucking POS. I think Admin posts his articles just to fuck with my/our blood pressure.

The questions of the hour are these: Will the GOP be united against an incumbent party that is moving visibly leftward and dragging the country with it — and what will Donald Trump do?

No, Pat, the real question of the hour is just why do we need the repugnant party in the first place?

I was a life-long repube voter from highschool on. I volunteered to get out the vote. I poll watched. I attended inaugurations. I went to rallies.
And in all those years, I never saw the repubes do much.
You didn’t fight hard.
You didn’t reverse the left.
You didn’t push back on anything.
You weren’t reliable on any issue.
You backed down every time you were pushed by the left.
Worse, despite your failures to do much of anything we wanted, we gave you the government and you still failed to deliver.
You could at least have dismantled the left’s previous efforts, but you didn’t.
You didn’t stop China. (Hell, your people were in bed with China. Just look at Cocaine Mitch.)
You never fought for American workers.
You didn’t want to close the border.
You didn’t want to help small business.
You didn’t try to restrain spending.
You didn’t try to keep the schools apolitical.
You didn’t reign in lobbying, junkets, franking, or any other financial fuckery govt people get away with.
You didn’t defend our rights.
You didn’t revoke Barry Care when you had the chance.
You didn’t fight for fair trade with China or anyone else.
You allowed the dollar to be wrecked.
You didn’t punish anyone for the 2008 crash.
You backed down again and again every time the left called you names.
You didn’t bother to help your own party’s president when he needed you.
You spent more time courting the left and sucking up to the very people who attacked you than fighting them.
You didn’t try to stop the steal this election and ignored blatant evidence of fraud.
You didn’t oppose previous election fraud, either.
You didn’t do shit for us when it counted. Ever.

So what the fuck do you expect from us now?
You haven’t been loyal to us. You haven’t been loyal to the US.
So why should we bother with supporting you?

Now that you’ve let the left completely steal the country, you’re toast.
You may be too lazy and corrupt and selfish and entitled to figure it out, but you have no chance of ever winning again. The left has it sewn up so you literally can’t win. Between illegals flooding the country, which you actually supported in previous years, and your lack of interest in stopping blatant ballot fraud, you’re literally never going to win a national election again.

Also, you’ve spent so long sucking up to the left, no matter what they’ve done to you, it looks like you are not now, nor ever were, interested in actually trying to win. You back down, run away, and surrender every time they call you racist or bigoted or big hateful meanies. You always promise big stuff, then fail to deliver. The last time anyone could look at the repubes as having any backbone or plan was 1996 when Newt was running the show. Since then, you’ve been The Washington Generals to the communists’ Harlem Globetrotters. To those of us who pay attention, you are literally a controlled opposition.

You also don’t listen to us. Princeton’s 2014 report on voting patterns showed we literally don’t matter to you. You only support the big money in 99.8% of cases. You absolutely don’t give a shit about us, only what the big money wants.

So what’s the fucking point of supporting you?

In fact, based on the results of that Princeton study, what’s the point of even voting?

You’ve been playing hot potato with the government, tossing it back and forth with the communists for so long, you appear to see government as something you’re entitled to. You take power for a while, then trade and spend a few years writing papers nobody reads at think tanks, lobbying, and raising money off us suckers. You’re finished as a party. I hope nobody votes for you ever again. I know I won’t. I’m done with voting. The reasons above are all justification never to support you again and never to vote again at all. There’s no point to it.

You know, I wish I could support you. I wish you were the party to represent us. I wish you would fight for the values you pretend to hold. I wish you were as willing to struggle and get your hands dirty as the communists are. I wish you cared about America and family values and God and Mom and Apple Pie as much as your ignorant still-loyal voters do. I wish I could trust you, but I know you too well.

You only pretend to care when you want us to line up and vote again so you can go back to DC to collect your government checks and your bribes.
You only pretend to fight when it looks good to the TV audience, but you quit as soon as the going gets tough.
You only pretend to listen, while cashing checks from crooked lobbyists.
You only pretend to love this country while you sell it out to foreign interests.

Well, you may still have millions of well-meaning, but dumb conventional loyal doofuses fooled, but you don’t fool me. Every day, since the election, I think thousands, maybe tens or hundreds of thousands, of people have started to figure it out and are starting to wake up, too. More and more of us aren’t fooled anymore and you can’t expect us to blindly show up and pull the lever for your stupid, lying, unreliable traitor party anymore.

Until you fix this government and bring back the rule of law and the Republic, I quit. I hope millions more quit, too. I hope you never win again. Why should anyone vote in a rigged system for a fake party that never follows through? We do better to register our disapproval by not participating at all.

Grand Old Party? You would do better to change your name from GOP to GYP.

To quote Doomcock, “Without respect, we reject.”

Indeed and you see how they treated the one guy who tried. The Trump lawyers actually kicked ass and took names today. They scrupulously avoided answering whether they thought there was fraud.
Word is Aunt Lindsey who has again reverted to RINO, and Cocaine Mitch with the Chicom bitch, put out the word if the Trump team tried to bring up fraud they would whip a vote to convict.
Our goal going forward should be to inflict as much damage on any RINO as possible in any way Possible. I am expending my efforts locally on the traitor sellout Quislinger

“…In the month since the attack on the Capitol, says The New York Times, 140,000 Republicans in 25 states have renounced their party by changing their registration.”

I was one of those 140,000. It had absolutely nothing to do with the Capitol protestors. I did it out of sheer anger and disgust at the Republican party, for fighting their own voters at every level to ensure a stolen election was allowed to stand, and then after the capitol protests throwing all of us under the bus in a final act of betrayal. I’ve been a Republican my entire life. No more. I cannot stand one more betrayal from this God forsaken party, and I pray it is disbanded so a true opposition party can form.

The GOP = NWO; it hates US and Trump; God hates the GOP; it is dead to me. There has been a communist take over and we have a communist dictatorship to get rid of; we cannot vote them out. The best way is for the Red counties and states to peacefully secede and reform the Constitutional Republic. Look at a Red-Blue map, look at the people, look at the resources. The Blue states are in debt and bring finance companies, sub-divisions, big retail stores, entertainment, etc to the bargaining table; we bring farms, ranches, mines, factories, transportation, utilities, etc. They have the north east and west coast but we have the south east and gulf coast. I say we have the hearts and minds of the Police and Military.
