This recent year has disclosed that few of our fellow citizens value freedom. Thus the results are not surprising, yet it is hopeful that DC came in last.
I can personally attest to the fact that Alabama is by far the worst place to live in the entire universe, much less the continental United States. With that in mind, it is my sincere advice to everyone to avoid the entire state as much as humanly possible. We had a middle class home in New Joisey. We paid $7800/yr in property taxes. We retired to TN. I had time to investigate the breakdown of the previous property taxes. About 40 cents of every dollar went to what was called education. Out of the 40 cents, about 32 cents went to teachers salaries and pensions. It wasn’t unusual to see someone retire in their early 50’s . They could collect a million in pensions if they lived long enough. I’ll bet the teachers put NJ at the top of the list of places to live!
