Yes
I like Return to me.
I’ve seen them all, some more than a few times over the years.
New Hollywood movie soon due for release –
Two Jabbings And A Funeral.
THATS funny,,, but it isn’t.
Previously other disaster movies start out by the government ignoring science.
Or as in “V For Vendetta” and our current situation, the government was INVOLVED in science for no good reason and with evil intent.
I have seen every movie on the list FWIW.
and here we are.
All of them except E.T….I went and saw Poltergeist instead.
Pathetic that ET won the Oscar over Poltergeist for special effects. 1950s special effects using a bicycle instead of a flying man. One of the key moments that showed the Oscars to be nothing but crap.
Don’t forget John Carpenter’s The Thing. It was released the same year as E.T. and Poltergeist and lost out on the special effects Oscar as well.
Better movie too, but Carpenter wasn’t in with the in crowd…
Didn’t realize that. Didn’t see it that year, but have many times since. Indeed, better special effects than Poltergeist.
Geez I think I’ve seen only 2/3 of them if that
All of them
Haven’t seen ET or Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Not sure I ever will.
“E.T. – Eddie Torez….Extra Testicle” – Cheech Marin from some skit.
All except the breakfast club.
I like Jane Eyre..
All but two …. Ferris Bueller and Breakfast Club.
BUT … I made up foe it by watching Airplane about a dozen times.
Seen Ferris Bueller’s Day Off multiple times, Breakfast Club a couple. Die Hard, lost count. Hell, that’s a Christmas classic now. Terminator, plenty of times. All except maybe the most current one. Rainman, a good few times.
Airplane! was my blueprint for tormenting customers and crewmembers when I worked in the airline industry.
Literalism drives people insane. It kept me sane driving all those idiots insane.
ZFG, out.
P.S. The plane wont be able to fly until we sacrifice a baby or flight attendant to the turbofan engine gods. So sayeth the great engine gods.
I should do airline employee inner monologues.
Swishy male flight attendants should be sacrificed before every flight.
Roger Roger, what’s your vector Victor.
I have seen every movie at least twice, some (Airplane especially) more than double digits.
“We have to get them to a hospital,”
“The Hospital? What is it?”
Ha!
What’s our clearance, Clarence?
“Hello, Timmy. Have you ever been in a Turkish prison? Or seen a grown man naked?”
“Joey, do you like movies about gladiators?”
That’s not important right now.
“Stewardess, I can help-I speak Jive”
Who knew, June Cleaver?
All of them. Some of them more than once. Sorta makes me realize that everything I’ve seen in recent years is garbage. They don’t make good movies anymore.
I’ve seen them all. It’s amazing how many of these you have to rent from streaming services. They don’t show them for free with subscription.
Not much of a list without Full Metal Jacket or Platoon.
Most of them. Now so 2010s and ask again
Buckaroo Banzai.
What was the first movie to use the line ” Clever Girl ” ?
That was cool.
Plagiarism at it’s best.
Only seen 15, and mostly pretty good…How times have changed!
16
Those were what corrupted people in the 80s. How do you think we got here? People being socialized by Hollywood Jews, that’s how
Drugs and the writings of Ayn Rand, Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard, etc. are what corrupted me.
Now I’ll try this one again. I’ve seen the majority of these. Yet I will gladly go to my grave, proudly never having seen ET.
I saw it, thought it sucked. Hey-‘Stripes’ isn’t on the list! What’s up with that?
So many other excellent movies were missed … unless, of course, I missed some sort of pattern here meant to convey a message …
These are from the list of the top 10 grossing films in the years shown:
1980: Stir Crazy (Gene Wilder/Richard Pryor); The Blues Brothers (John Belushi/Dan Ayckroyd)
1981: Arthur (Dudley Moore); The Cannonball Run (Burt Reynolds/Jackie Gleason); Time Bandits (Sean Connery/John Cleese)
1982: Porky’s; 48 Hours (Nick Nolte/Eddie Murphy
1983: Flash Dance (Jennifer Beals — ’nuff said); Trading Places (Dan Ayckroyd/Eddie Murphy); Risky Business (Tom Cruise/Rebecca de Mornay)
1984: Beverly Hills Cop (Eddie Murphy/Judge Reinhold); Gremlins (Zach Galligan/Phoebe Cates); Police Academy (Kim Cattrall/Bubba Smith); Romancing The Stone (Kathleen Turner/Danny DeVito); Splash (Tom Hanks/Daryl Hannah
1985: Back To The Future (Michael J Fox); Witness (Kelly McGillis/Harrison Ford)
1986: Crocodile Dundee (Paul Hogan/Linda Kozlowski)
1987: Fatal Attraction (Glenn Close/Michael Douglas); Good Morning, Vietnam (Robin Williams – ’nuff said); Moonstruck (Cher/Nicolas Cage); Lethal Weapon (Mel Gibson/Danny Glover); The Witches Of Eastwick (Jack Nicholson – ’nuff said)
1988: Twins (Arnold Schwarzenegger/Danny DeVito); A Fish Called Wanda (Jamie Lee Curtis/John Cleese); Cocktail (Tom Cruise/Elisabeth Shue)
1989: Honey, I Shrunk The Kids (Rick Moranis/Marcia Strassman); Born On The Fourth Of July (Tom Cruise/Kyra Sedgwick)
See all of them from both lists. Used to rent a lot of movies back in the day.
Haven’t seen/didnt like all of those, but great list.
Was going to take this test but
One….Hollywood was crap then and still is now.
All but back to the future II
The 80’s are now “The Good Ole’ Days”. Those movies may not have been cerebral but at least the were not about flamers , trannies and blacks being the all- knowing, wise leaders. Movies are regurgitating now, I don’t know how filmmakers stay afloat.
Saw every single one on the list, some of them reluctantly.
Gotta add Revenge of the Nerds. Lambda, Lambda, Lambda.
I have seen every last one of these. Some, multiple times.
So…Is it my fault that the world is now so fuckkked-uuuuppp?!?
Shit…
Saw every one, multiple times.
Then (shit), saw every other one mentioned in the comments…multiple times.
Nothing I can say in my defense. I helped fuck up the world.
But now…I don’t have tv or cable.
Sigh.
Why was that so aging. Damned if I might get on my 180Hp 140N/m torque KTM 1290 motorcycle and pull a few very long wheelies at 70Mph just to be sure at 67 I fear very little these days. Cancer can suck my DeeK but it will win ….. eventually.
Just 13 of them
What’s the French one that played on the Playboy Channel in 1984? The one with the naked chicks all swimming in the lake? I’m asking for a friend.
All but Top Gun. I’ve seen the beginning a few times but never could sit through the whole thing. Walked out 1/3 of the way through when I saw it in the theater.
