I wouldn’t put it past The Weather Channel putting that empty dumpster on it’s side on Canal St in New Orleans yesterday. They know no bounds.
This morning Paul Goodloe was holding a piece of “debris” he claimed he found down on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. It was full of nails sticking out. He not only used the debris to illustrate just how “dangerous” conditions were in the area, but also used it to point out how horrible it would be to step on something like that and need a tetanus shot, only to end up at a hospital full of Covid patients (of course because they are overflowing….his added comment). I wouldn’t be surprised if he made that piece of debris before leaving Atlanta and brought it with him in the truck for just this morning’s broadcast.

The instant I saw that, I thought the exact same thing. The boys in the truck were told to tip it over. Having ridden out 8 hurricanes aboard AVENTURA, I do respect their fierce power, but the over-the-top hype just slays me. My fave was a desperate female reporter pointing at a frigging palm frond on the ground beneath a palm tree and claiming that it was a sure sign of The End.
