GCP, if you read this you will find that Admin just answered my prayer. Synchronicity anyone?

Most people can only remember the first few words to most songs.

Unless you owned the album and listened to it until the grooves were worn down, or did the same to a cassette. Especially if you owned an album on which the lyrics were printed.

At some point, even the song lyrics get jumbled.

I have some blurry photos of me, so I know I lived through them….somehow.

My son kept telling me all the time: “Dad, I know the 70’s (I’m a little older) were great, too bad you remember only two hours of it”.

There was a 70’s too??? Oh man…

No joke… I was not wasted one day, at the usual level, and my mudder thought I may be sick. I worked fire fighting and the local vineyard irrigation, so I made pretty good money in my early teens. Always broke, never sober… much regret… oh well

Some great lyrics from an 80s song:

“Capitalism”

There’s nothing wrong with the capitalism
There’s nothing wrong with free enterprise
Don’t try to make me feel guilty
I’m so tired of hearing you cry

There’s nothing wrong with making some profit
If you ask me, I’ll say it’s just fine
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to live nice
I’m so tired of hearing you whine
About the revolution
Bringin’ down the rich
When was the last time you dug a ditch, baby?!

If it ain’t one thing
Then it’s the other
Any cause that crosses your path
Your heart bleeds for anyone’s brother
I’ve got to tell you you’re a pain in the ass

You criticize with plenty of vigor
You rationalize everything that you do
With catchy phrases and heavy quotations
And everybody is crazy but you

You’re just a middleclass, socialist brat
From a suburban family and you never really had to work
And you tell me that we’ve got to get back
To the struggling masses (whoever they are)
You talk, talk, talk about the suffering and pain
Your mouth is bigger than your entire brain
What the hell do you know about suffering and pain…?

There’s nothing wrong with the capitalism
There’s nothing wrong with free enterprise
Don’t try to make me feel guilty
I’m so tired of hearing you cry

There’s nothing wrong with making some profit
If you ask me, I’ll say it’s just fine
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to live nice
I’m so tired of hearing you whine—

You’re just a middleclass, socialist brat
From a suburban family and you never really had to work
And you tell me that we’ve got to get back
To the struggling masses (Whoever they are)
You talk, talk, talk about the suffering and pain
Your mouth is bigger than your entire brain….

There’s nothing wrong with capitalism

Who sang it?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
So funny because it’s so true.
I just walked into my kitchen 3 times and
finally remembered why. It was to find my glasses
already on my face.
True story.

1980 was when I had my last child! I do remember Saturday morning cleaning sessions with my 2 older children,(the oldest was 9 and the younger was 6). And we would sing (probably mostly 70’s songs) at the top of our lungs!! It made housework so much more fun!😇👵. You can’t really teach little kids the songs they sing today.🙄
